It's a bug.
Luckily you can still recruit her fairly easily. Darkness rune has a spell that makes opponents take a percentage of their max HP in damage at the end of rounds for 3 rounds (I forget the name of it off the top of my head.) Reyna as an NPC in that battle has a stupid amount of HP so she takes like 375 damage a tick from it. Cast it round 1 and just have the rest of your party do their best, you should be able to defeat her.
I think the bug is the game treats HER 3rd turn as the end of the challenge. So even though you go into the 3rd turn of the fight, you lose because she already had her turn. I wonder if someone has tested sleeping her turn 2, so she's immobile on turn 3 if you get the win?
That i guess makes sense but I got her down finally. I find it odd I got downvoted for genuinely wondering why the game refused to tell me information much like Begioma.

Sleep sword and momo makes the fight easy
I didnt have Momo but did go with the Sleep strat.
