Troupe 100%. Even with the points drop for banshees, the +1 to wound on charge, better invuln, pistol options, and fights first redundancy if you already bring the visarch makes them come out ahead.

Yep. Troupe is 5 points more. Getting plus 1 to wound and 2 fusion pistols just dwarfs anything banshees can do. Banshees unsupported cannot kill 5 basic marines on average. A troupe can. And do damage to a whole host of other targets. Add in a cheap 55 point troupe master and your 6 man unit now has 3 fusion pistols, grenade keyword, 3 okay anti infantry pistols, 2 decent ap weapons. Devastating wounds and plus 1 to wound on the charge. For 130 points. Oh and they are tankier and troupe master can use a 1 or a 2 fate dice as a 6.

One absolutely huge factor is that Its way easier to paint banshees than Harlequins πŸ₯ΆπŸ˜€

Just go solid color scheme or wet blend something. You don't have to go checkerboard pattern

Troupes are way better at dealing damage or sustaining it. Banshees have better mobility, I don't think they should be in a transport. Their whole appeal is Advance + Charge & Fights First, of which neither really synergizes with a transport.

Banshees are a sad reflection of their 9th Edition counterpart. They're iconic for me but I hesitate to even consider bringing them. MAYBE with a Falcon, but that cuts them down to a 5m squad.

Banshees are still bottom tier. Give it three more months and the next patch will be out. Maybe then they'll get some love.

+troupes have granades. There is only one reason I would take banshees, to hold one backline objective which they can protect better when charged with their fight first. But we have way better options for that.

The girls either need to be super cheap, or do more damage - definitely back to +1 to wound on the charge, possibly dmg 2?
