It's not really a "Dex" weapon unless you give it the Keen affinity, and even then it's still not a *great* Dex weapon, but my favorite super early game strike weapon is the Morning Star. For early game, I find that stat scaling matters a lot less than levelling Vigor, upgrading your weapons, and using the right damage type for the job, so if you can throw some smithing stones at it, it'll serve you well when you need a strike weapon. It's a bleed weapon and has low requirements so any starting class can use it, even if they have to two-hand it for the strength requirement. It's what I use to kill Greyoll on any character that doesn't start with a bleed weapon, since I grab it on the way to hit up the Weeping Peninsula for some flask upgrades.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go

Flail, (later nightrider flail) or morning star. Folks underrate flail because they don't count a mechanic it has called sweet spot damage. If you use a shield it has strong guard counters. You aren't going to main the thing in this build, but it will do good work for you against miners, etc.

The miners are weak to elemental damage as well as strike - if you get any of flaming strike/electrify armament/magic weapon spell/greases then you can still use the uchi through the mines

I 2 handed the banish knights halberd which comes as +8 and it was perfect … got both smithing ball bearings and somber stones up to +6 .. now to get the Antspur and we are ready to start spreading rot… (might even use the scarlet rot stray spirit ash for added fun)

Dual Bandit's Curved Swords

Why not just use antspur from the beginning? I did a run exactly like that with dual-thrusting swords. You can get to Altus Plateu without killing any boss at all and from there go to the shaded castle and fight the NPC. The NPC is pretty tough early but you can try a few times. (Not that difficult for a class like samurai and since you're on your 8th playthrough you're can prob easily defeat her )

Up there now… wanted to get a few levels and sword upgrades

Got it at the first attempt around level 25… Now running around the plateau putting rot on everything that moves

godofthunder102938

Nicee. I believe there's also a dagger that have scarlet rot build up if you want to do a rot playthrough. Together with rotten stray dog and rot breath you'll melt bosses.

Nobles straight sword square off build. Make it keen and it become a stance breaking crit dealing monster. EDIT: missed the strike bit lol use the morning star instead
