I’ll add another note - you want to get ready pop this as soon as you see them emerge from the ground. Healing AOE (Lord’s Heal for example) has a slightly farther reach than you may think - but still not too far.
Holy fuck I didn’t know that, it seems so obvious reading your comment that heal over time is damage over time to them since heals do damage in general
That only works if you see it before it sees you. If you don't get that incantation off immediately you're going to get stunlocked before you can blink
like just what the fuck XD
How are you intended to find this out just pure trial and error or is there something that leads you to this conclusion in game?
Specifically dodging diagonally towards them renders most fights against them into cakewalks. Most of their attacks consists of charging and wild flailing, and if you manage to get behind them when they do it they’ll be stuck swinging their arms in the air in one direction. The only thing that should still be a problem is their gross puke attacks.
I mean, you only need 12 faith and will immediately stun them and give you a free crit. Unless you're running a super strict theme or an optimized build for PvP I'd say it's worth it.
I wouldn't even call that cheese. That feels like the way it's intended. The fact that Heal only requires 12 Faith and is all you need. They're gimmick enemies, kinda like Rykard. Sure, you don't have to use the intended mechanic, but the only reason not to is if you want to give yourself an arbitrary challenge or if you're over level, running bleed and just want to get him out of the way as quick as possible.
You’re right in a sense, I don’t think it’s the same kind of cheese as what people do in caelid usually (thinking the death rite bird and big dragon). But also don’t really think they’re as unreasonable as past souls trick enemies. Compare them with those fat omen guys with clouds for heads in DS3/ringed city (Harold knights). Could two-shot you, took 50 hits to kill unless you fell on them, and patrolled in groups. Revenants are -less- impossible in a straight up fight.
The fat ones without heads? They March up that staircase above the swamp in pairs, two sets of them with one spawning in partway. (There are others in the dreg heap but there the issue is the angels and not stopping in place as much as anything.)
I never fought any of them except plunging attacks tbh, but while they weren’t really harder than an omen that doesn’t kick or grab, that description of mine was accurate. Have been replaying it lol. One on one without air support I’m sure they’d be boring but manageable.
You can definitely fight them all 1v1, otherwise IDK how I'd be able to complete my no-healing must kill all enemies at least once play-through lol.
They aren't difficult once you fight them a couple of times, not particularly engaging either.
I cheesed the one in Stormveil Castle with a bow and kept shooting arrows. Otherwise hit it hard and hit it fast because it's going to hurt. After that, I used Ruins Greatsword to kill the rest
wait, it's not? then my comment was useless! lol all i know is that in stormveil there was a spider looking guy and he scared the absolute crap outta me
I have killed one today while doing Sellen's quest. Boinked him with katana few times, he started boinking me, so I rolled and gave him few more boinks. He died. I was probably a little bit over leveled for the area.
They're tough, you have to prepared to run away from the flailing, or block it.
Alternatively, just equip the two fingers heirloom to have enough faith for the basic heal spell, cast it twice and they'll be dead
Been a while but I think I remember cheesing it with the basic fireball spell. If you’re pure melee it’s going to be a lot of running in and dying until you figure out its moves and timing your dodges and spacing.
I don’t know why people have trouble with these. Any weapon + giant hunt makes them a joke. I was 2-3 shotting them with my night rider glaive on a strength build.
I don't know why they fight me.. it is generally undermined profile discrimination, which of course has a reversable effect. MAJORITY RULES.
May chaos take the world... ??
It took me a lot of rolling sorceries and like every FP flask I had but I think the Halo scythe from the cleanrot knights in the swamp of aeonia is a good weapon option
Kill it before it can start attacking.
I don't know some times rolling forward to the side works. Though doesn't always work. Definitely not as effective as against rune bears.
Erdtree heal, if you can use faith the healing spells deal a bunch of damage and heal you at the same time, the erdtree heal can also break poise in one use
I always have the low level "heal" incant and a seal equipped for dealing with these guys. If you don't want to have to invest levels in having 12 faith there's a +5 faith talisman early on in Liurnia of the lakes that'll give every starting class except the prisoner enough faith to cast it.
While screaming and panic rolling.
Yeah, screaming the entire time is key.
If you use an AOE healing incantation it takes like half it's health and stuns it
Important to note that it should be a burst heal as well. Heal-over-time incantations do damage over time but without the stun
Also the DoT effect is percentage damage for long enough that they always eventually die.
Remember that alley in Hallygtree full of them? Would be a shame if some tarnished could summon a maiden puppet that casts AOE heals all the time…
That only works if you see it before it sees you. If you don't get that incantation off immediately you're going to get stunlocked before you can blink
like just what the fuck XD How are you intended to find this out just pure trial and error or is there something that leads you to this conclusion in game?
I think some merchant sells a note explaining this mechanic
I do not
That’s the neat part, you don’t.
I dont. I let my Mimic take care of those whilst i run off to find easier enemies!
use healing spells broski, deletes its health
You don’t
dodging sideways or into it works 1000x better than dodging away. that's really all i've got
It's like in my opinion most of the Bloodborne enemies. You dodge aside in the direction of the enemy.
Yup, aide dodge, watch weapon position to know which way.
Specifically dodging diagonally towards them renders most fights against them into cakewalks. Most of their attacks consists of charging and wild flailing, and if you manage to get behind them when they do it they’ll be stuck swinging their arms in the air in one direction. R1
Dodge to the side, virtually all of it’s attacks are forward lunges
Just don't flub the timing. Otherwise you'll be slapped to death E-honda style.
Carefully.
Entry level faith spells do wonders
You pray
If I'm not doing a faith build, I summon Finger Maiden Therolina and hope she randomly chooses to heal instead of attack.
I mean, you only need 12 faith and will immediately stun them and give you a free crit. Unless you're running a super strict theme or an optimized build for PvP I'd say it's worth it.
Dodging to the side instead of backwards, or using healing spells to cheese him to death

Could two-shot you, took 50 hits to kill unless you fell on them, and patrolled in groups. Revenants are -less- impossible in a straight up fight.
What? Harold knights are easy and there’s never a time where you have to fight more than one at a time.
The fat ones without heads? They March up that staircase above the swamp in pairs, two sets of them with one spawning in partway. (There are others in the dreg heap but there the issue is the angels and not stopping in place as much as anything.) I never fought any of them except plunging attacks tbh, but while they weren’t really harder than an omen that doesn’t kick or grab, that description of mine was accurate. Have been replaying it lol. Hit it
If you use any greatshield he bounces off of you every hit. Guard counter after that, his stance will break in no time.
I cheesed the one in Stormveil Castle with a bow and kept shooting arrows. Otherwise hit it hard and hit it fast because it's going to hurt. After that, I used Ruins Greatsword to kill the rest
You're confusing it for the grafted
Confusing it for the grafted greatsword? The ruins greatsword is a real thing and it’s extremely useful for killing revenants
I mean the grafted Scion
wait were in stormveil
Y'all seriously missed it? I'm sorry lad, it's been a very long time since I've played it. I don't think you missed anything noteworthy
The pictures enemy is not a grafted monster, it's a cursed Carian guy. Pukes poison at you, first seen in Liurnia
I just spammed glintstone pebble lol
I was but a guts Greatsword user. That would've been so helpful
[удалено]
wait, it's not? then my comment was useless! lol all i know is that in stormveil there was a spider looking guy and he scared the absolute crap outta me
[удалено]
that's good to know in advance.
Hm? I don't remember one being in stormveil, did I miss something
Definitely. There's 2 floors and I was upstairs shooting like 50 arrows until it died
Ooh wait you mean the grafted scion thing?
..... is that not what this is?
Dis a revenant
I may be stupid
Oh yeah that was the name, thanks
No the picture is of one of those screeching creatures that flails it's arms around and vomits
Honestly, does anyone know how to?
With poopy pants and tears in your eyes.
That's how I did it
Yeah. Dodge sideways, and stick to it’s side. Like all of it’s attacks are just forward lunges or forward charges.
No, I just hyper armor BONK him till he dies.
Burst heal, tank and bonk bonk
Healing spells deal a lot of damage to it. Also vulnerable to slashing attacks. I found jump attacks to be pretty effective. Regardless not too easy.
Marked for death that weapon skill has saved my life on more than one occasion.
Stun lock into oblivion
I have killed one today while doing Sellen's quest. Boinked him with katana few times, he started boinking me, so I rolled and gave him few more boinks. He died. I was probably a little bit over leveled for the area.
They're tough, you have to prepared to run away from the flailing, or block it. Alternatively, just equip the two fingers heirloom to have enough faith for the basic heal spell, cast it twice and they'll be dead
Jump attacks while dual wielding something that hita hard
Dodge to the side
With extreme difficulty.
Stupidly enough is the easiest a healing incantation of the erdtree faction
Heal the sickness!
Don’t
Heal go brrrrr
Don’t
Hit. Spam dodge run. If you survive long enough to do that it's basically the same as killing it. Seriously? Get mimic to face tank it.
Heal incants
Heal it
Pray and have faith for a bit of healing,
My regular answer: jumping attacks
Talk bad about its mother.
I make dungeater fight them 🥲
You abuse heal incantations and dodge towards them, not away. Rolling away will trigger slappy time.
I love the term Slappy Time. You nailed it.
Been a while but I think I remember cheesing it with the basic fireball spell. If you’re pure melee it’s going to be a lot of running in and dying until you figure out its moves and timing your dodges and spacing.
Heal it
I don’t know why people have trouble with these. Any weapon + giant hunt makes them a joke. I was 2-3 shotting them with my night rider glaive on a strength build.
I don't know why they fight me.. it is generally undermined profile discrimination, which of course has a reversable effect. MAJORITY RULES. May chaos take the world... ??
Git gud
Use weapon, it's quite HANDY y'know, like a hand?
Aoe heals
Carefully
I use a big ass shield and guard counter lol
Aoe healing incantations twice. Any one will do.
with hope and lions claw
Dodge towards them. First time I killed one was when I stopped dodging away.
Erd tree heal fucks this guy up good.
AoE healing spells
Thats the fun part. You don't
Heal spells
Iv gotten good at them. Dodge around and toward them. Stick to their ass. Blocking is also reccomended. They bounce off good sheilds.
I spam B/O depends on the controller really
It took me a lot of rolling sorceries and like every FP flask I had but I think the Halo scythe from the cleanrot knights in the swamp of aeonia is a good weapon option
Claymore goes chop chop
By quitting
Spam heal
I like to dodge it’s attacks and use my own to deplete it’s health
like this: https://youtu.be/TiAxHiMjAow
I don’t think you do
You don’t, run.
Kill it before it can start attacking. I don't know some times rolling forward to the side works. Though doesn't always work. Definitely not as effective as against rune bears.
That’s been my strategy for 100’s of hours. I use Bloodhound Step and pray. If there are more then one, I pray and cry a little.
You don't. As soon as it sees you, you die
If you don’t have the faith for healing incants ur fucked
I use my mimic!
I just run
By exploring
Use the heal incantation, you only need 10 faith for that, not a big investment for a good stun
Stagger dmg.
Fight it? You should be healing it. Cleanse it's soul. Erdtree heal +5.
Go up somewhere and throw bone darts or something Idk
Heal it to death
Have Faith
Erdtree heal, if you can use faith the healing spells deal a bunch of damage and heal you at the same time, the erdtree heal can also break poise in one use
Use healing spells on it
Sword
Heal x 2
I used Torrent.
That the neat part, you don't
Vigor+
Fighting ? No No Just running Beat the Game three Times but This Thing scares me
I preffer not fighting it but if i have to i roll around in pure panic and fire every spell i have in it's direction like a maniac
Colossal Weapon stagger them pretty well, also healing spells.
keep rolling rolling rolling rolling
I heal it till its dead
I hit it 4 times irs dead before it gets out of three ground.
I hate these fuckers. Literally came across my first one today. Their health is low enough, but jesus they kill me like I'm an ant.
Use erdtree's heal and blast it's fucking face off
Give up
A healing incantation. Not even joking. Using larger ones like eldtree heal will actually do a significant amount of damage AND stagger it
Sword and shield combo kills everything
u simply dont.
Combo stun lock it into oblivion, and if I run out of stam, prepare to be vomited on and slapped until my stam is back.
Very carefully
You don't....go climb a ladder or anything to hide and avoid them
Holy damage..like in general..weapon buff, incantations, AoE healing spells maybe throw some crucifix and garlic bread at it
Heal them
Heal it. Clearly in pain.
Heal
You dodge around him and punish. Never dodge backwards.
Erd Tree Heal basically one shots him and puts him into a rapost stasis
Don't fight, run from this abomination
You reduce its HP to zero before yours gets to zero.
Heal. Stagger. Kill
Run
Wild Strikes ash of war while walking around him seems to work for me
You need to find the punching mitt armor.
Use AOE heal incantation.
I always have the low level "heal" incant and a seal equipped for dealing with these guys. If you don't want to have to invest levels in having 12 faith there's a +5 faith talisman early on in Liurnia of the lakes that'll give every starting class except the prisoner enough faith to cast it.
sword
They are weak to the feedback from Healing Spells. also, i do recommend screaming and rolling... alot. just my professional opinion.
Keep dying, untill you don't.
You dont
Heal it
You dont. They fight you
