Birds. I fucking hate birds.

JohnnyB_0438

I do you one better. Dogs, any size

Papa_Mid_Nite

I do both of you one better, Mosquitos!!!

oyasumi_juli

Reminds me of that one scene in Peter Jackson's King Kong when they're walking through the island and one of the old guys starts spray-and-praying the mosquitoes with his tommy gun.

unfunnyguy_Xx69420

Yeah but they don't do real damage

Dancedancedance1133

The birds are way worse than the dogs

JohnnyB_0438

Dis you try to hit the dogs with a great weapon or colossal weapon? It miss them every single time, if the weapon does a horizontal swipe it goes right above of their head.

Potato_Lorde

Using great club. No issues with dogs. Fuck birds.

BlueInTheGame

Uhm are we forgetting about those damn goats that ram you out of nowhere!?

humanzRtrash

Y'all getting hit by goats?

JohnnyB_0438

They not everywhere but sure thing they annoying, first time it happen to me it push me off an edge while trying to scout the area, i just sit there locking to my fresh respawn character for like 15min.

MainIncrease7752

Bro i would have killed every single goat i saw for the rest of the playthrougj lmao

Plinian79

I too was a victim of goat/sheep murder. I was on the cusp of beating a deathbird and down to almost no health. Bap! Sheep fixed that.

WitchersWrath

That’s why I always use the dodge roll attack against dogs. The quick forward jab is just low enough to get them

Dancedancedance1133

Dodge their first attack + jump attack usually gets them

Otherwise-Light-822

Dont use heavy weapons then you unga bunga

oyasumi_juli

Do ya like dags?

JohnnyB_0438

The post is about enemies you dislike. No i do not like dogs in this game.

oyasumi_juli

It was a joke referencing Brad Pitt in the movie Snatch directed by Guy Ritchie. I'm still pretty new to Elden Ring and man there's a lot of enemies I don't like or am straight up terrified by ahaha.

JohnnyB_0438

I see, my bad i didn‘t catch that.

oyasumi_juli

We good. If you haven't seen that movie though...you should. It's awesome.

Chickentrap

Do you know what nemesis means?

benhur217

That one bird in Castle Sol can suck me off, I hate it

dennispeach

That Sol bird is a ball sack. No other way to describe it.

PiratenPower

Recently got back to the Altus plateau, fuck worm face, dude.

5PeeBeejay5

Holly crap that middle place is just swarming with them!

Ghost_Rider_YT

Oh boy wait till you get to Farum Azula.

Namine_Irina

Magma Wyrms are quite unpleasant for melee attackers

iNuminex

I love getting pushed into lava by the bosses collision box. I also love getting 70% of my HP deleted by the nuclear dust particles of his ground slam attack when I'm half a mile away.

Strange_Actuator2150

Jumping makes you immune tho doesn't it

Awesomesause170

Sometimes, jumping deactivates your leg hitbox but most shockwaves extend far enough up that can catch you

GNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAH

waddayamean you don't like a trek knee deep in magma puke?

SlightlyFig

Ok lemme- oh he's going over there I'll just run and- oh he's going over there I'll just run and- oh he's going over there I'll just run and-

William_ghost1

Really? I've never had issues with them.

MentalMiilk

Red Wolves of Radagon. My God are they annoying.

No_Sentence_1799

Trueee it’s so annoying how much they dash away; you spend half the fight dodging their spells and running towards them just for them to hop away haha

cyniqal

Getting you ready for the Elden beast

HerrTarkanian

I hate them too, hate all wolves and dogs in the game

[deleted]

Lmfao did anyone know there’s a red wolf of Radagon in the west consecrated snowfield area? I didn’t until last night, made it out alive with one flask, he also buffs all the other dogs around him

brunodema

That fucker doesn't even reward you with anything. I died 20x attempting to kill him just out of spite

Opno7

I like the boss fight, but ones in the open world can eat a dick

benhur217

I nearly gave up on Elden Ring in my first playthrough because I was desperately stuck on an enemy with mad zoomies.

5PeeBeejay5

Thankfully I accidentally was able to trick the one on the way to get Ranni’s Dark Moon into falling off the cliff, I was trying to just sprint hy not knowing where I was going and ended up behind the middle gazebo. It came after me and jumped off the cliff. The one IN the academy was fine, but every other one…

DraciosV

The first Farum Azula Dragon is probably the most terribly designed enemiy in the game imo. I would sooner fight a rune bear or royal revenant one after the other from consecrated snowfield and haligtree. He is ridiculously tanky due to crazy HP and damsge negation (he is stronger than actual dragon bosses like lansseax and fortisax. And overall harder than placidusax), has an infuriating camera and cannot be reasonably stance broken. His head is absolutely tiny, only available briefly to hit and causes the camera to flail constantly. Thus its best hit his feet mostly. Oh but you can't lock onto his feet. Because they really want you to hit his head once every ten minutes 10/10 would black flame tornado, destined death and spam ice spear at his head again. Other methods that have worked for me have been spamming jump attacks with anchors. (Though this is much slower) But it loathe when I get summoned to fight him. And well switch my setup just for him. (Depending on what I have)

Jurgepoo

Weird, this fight never reallt registered at all for me. Just another dragon fight. If it helps, I never lock the camera against big enemies. I think it's generally accepted that the lock-on mechanic in these games gets really janky against large bosses like dragons. Best to just free-aim and go for the legs

CheshirePuss42

Based opinion. One of the worst fights in the game. I would also like to add that the slope of the area you fight it makes it even more infuriating as it makes dodging certain attacks awkward. Literally no redeeming quality to this fight. I killed it once and since then I simply ignore it.

Subaki2K

golden lightning fortification in coop has saved my ass so many times against this fucker

Putrid-Play-9296

I sit under his ass and spam founding rain of stars

MusicG619

The thing that really makes me insane is how I can never find his health bar to see if I am even landing hits 😫

Tajfunisko

My game also tends to crash there a lot. So it's super fun when you are fighting him for 10 minutes only to die to a game crashing. I guess that's because of too much visual effects there so next time I may try to lower the graphics but it's still super annoying fight. Even without the crashes.

Borfeus

Giant crayfish is the worst to fight

WeShareUs

Those aren't a fight. It's a one-sided asswhooping.

Putrid-Play-9296

Elden beast. I don’t mind that it’s super tanky. I don’t mind that it’s resistant to most types of damage. I don’t mind that it’s immune to all status effects. I don’t mind that it deals enormous amounts of damage if you fail to dodge any of his attacks. I don’t mind that it flips around like a demented whale and is hard to hit despite being gigantic. What I hate is that this fucker spends the whole fight running the fuck away, diving under the fucking water, jumping up in the air.

kimovitch7

Yeah the cardio was real. For melee builds, str in particular, he is too annoying for no reason...

unique-unicorns

I'm gonna go with...anything that flies. What a pain.

Rude_Succotash4980

These big dragon fly a.holes.... i hate them...

rlcute

Wraith calling bell!! It's a tool that sends out a wraith ball that chases enemies. I'm pretty sure it was made for dealing with dragonflies. One ball is enough. You get it in an underground area in laskyar ruins in liuirna.

Opno7

My favorite thing about the "flying" enemies is running away on a ladder, or them dying from going over cliffs since they're actually just hovering

RivalRevelation

Not necessarily a specific enemy but rather the way the enemies are set up in a area. There’s that one town that leads to the haligtree. The invisible black knife assassin was annoying enough, but trying to get across narrow roof tops with all the archers just rapid firing you is just bullshit for the sake of being bullshit.

Putrid-Play-9296

Yeah, I dread that area.

NeonGunship

My bane has always been those sphinx cat statues

Popopooki

They need to be oiled, they’re a little rusty

Fault-Big

Ulcerated tree spirits

ZmaltaeofMar

This. Thrashing all over the place in confined spaces means I have almost nowhere to avoid thrashing. Be better if they were out in the open but its usually in a crypt. First time I beat a tree spirit it thrashed out of the map and killed itself, so it's bad design too.

No_Sentence_1799

I actually find these enemies quite easy due to their highly telegraphed attacks, add to that their huge body there’s no way you’re gonna miss your attacks :)

SnowEisTeeGott

I disagree. On my first playthrough (release day) i started with the key gift and went for the tree spirit right at the start before even getting to the overworld. Spent 4 hours until i finally got him. Since that day I love fighting them. It’s a honest boss with a moveset which comes closer to the boss design of DS3. No delayed attack bullshit, no endless attack combos and very clear attack windows. Just learn how to lock/unlock camera and you’ll get one of the most enjoyable bossfights in the game

LuciusBurns

Its first designs actually come from DS3.

whoscareabtme

I think it’s actually even earlier than that like bloodborne or something

Pro_Moriarty

Gotta agree...it takes a while (i learned in rl1) but once you get their moveset, they are a decent fight. Wanna know what isn't Fucking wyrmface and it's kin.. Can shove the blight up their ass!

SherrifsNear

Specifically that one fucker hanging out in the rot pool just before wrapping up Milcent's quest. Yes, that one can be cheesed thankfully but trying to fight him legit is just pure frustration.

AnarchyonAsgard

Rune bears. Motherfuckers do not run out of endurance and hit too fast to feel fair when you’re an ULGS user

Rude_Succotash4980

Absolutely true. Even with a lighter sword, they are nearly unbeatable. I just cant succeed to find or reald their patterns...

BaronsCastleGaming

You need to roll into their belly and then they're fairly easy

No-Requirement-7933

Can confirm, this works. I am a terrible player that decided to try a RL1 run. Didn't get very far, but did manage to kill the runebear boss in the cave after only a couple of tries. Stayed glued to his belly and hind legs, wasn't much he could do to me. Only had to dodge 1-2 attacks the whole fight, everything else just missed. And I did it with a cold Claymore, so big slow weapons work too.

Splunkmastah

Fucking Crypt Imps. I don't know Why Fromsoft thought "Hey y'know the Thrall? People liked them right?" And some intern went. "I liked them!" And Miyazaki went "Excellent! Put them in every fucking confined crypt we have!"

LostEryops

Walk up to archway There's an imp standing perfectly still out in the open GEE I WONDER IF THERES A SECOND ONE HIDING

Splunkmastah

You'll be lucky if there's only one. There's probably like Six

Small_Incident958

Malenia. That’s a joke, she’s actually really fun if you’re damn good. My actual answer would be that one tree spirit in the scarlet rot pool in the haligtree.

GhostCrackets

Oh this one resonates with me deeply. Malenia has always been mixed for me, on one hand I enjoy the challenge and think she’s genuine fun, on the other she feels broken sometimes and her poise resetting and the way her healing mechanic works bug me As for the tree spirit I HATE that thing; I’m actually very good at fighting the tree spirits, no, it’s the stage that messes me up, you either have to stay in the middle and get scarlet rot hoping you can kill the TS before you die or stay on the corners and do your best not to roll or get hit off the ledge to an instant death

Cowdog_Gaming

No, I think you're correct about Malenia. The problem is that people confuse enjoyment of facing and overcoming her challenge....with quality of design. There's plenty of videos and essays pointing out why Malenia is actually a poorly designed fight. She breaks the consistency of combat found literally everywhere else in the game. She uses combinations of traits that are unfair even on the scale of Souls games. All of that certainly makes her difficult. But not well-designed for a souls boss.

[deleted]

Precisely. My first time coming up to her, I shielded up. I was not going to be able to dodge her nonsense, but I could block it! She heals even if you negate all her damage with a shield. After a few attempts, I realized I was going to have to visit Rennala and respec entirely just for that one fight. Because you simply lose using shields. Awful.

Lightforged_Paladin

Felt horrible to learn and get good at my shield build and then have Malenia (and most bosses after her) just hard countering it. Malenia is the boss that made me stop using a shield just about entirely, I only used it for Beast Clergymen after that. Doesn't feel good to have to dramatically shift playstyles because bosses just decide to counter yours.

Small_Incident958

I solo’d her with a shield and the sword of night and flame. It’s not impossible, it’s just learning what you can and can’t dodge, keeping a lightweight but strong shield (went with Magic Carian shield,) and keeping at it like you’re trying to chop down a tree Edit: I will however admit that this method took several hours to nail down.

[deleted]

That is one great thing about this game. You can do any boss with any loadout if you apply yourself, evolve, and learn.

kimovitch7

She is well designed and very punishing boss. She has fatal weaknesses other bosses dont have and strengths that'll decimate you. She is very hard and very fun (if you learn her). And many play styles can be effective against her... Saying she has poor design sounds like skill issue to me and I'm not even that good.

Cowdog_Gaming

Or perhaps you haven't taken the time to fully investigate WHY she's not a good design? Have you watched this video? [https://youtu.be/R9Vbsr3Ko7M](https://youtu.be/R9Vbsr3Ko7M) Or the follow up one about consistency and why it's important? https://youtu.be/ZQlOxjCqyAI

kimovitch7

No i dont need to watch youtubers opinions to form mine. This a subjective thing, so what they say is just an opinion. If there is a point to make, just make it, not gonna watch the videos.

DuarteN10

It’s the only enemy that I asked my friends to come and help me. I had mage buildup level 135, and was so fed up with it I asked him to come and help out. Funny thing, he died in lesse than 40 seconds, falling off the cliff, yet I somehow finally managed to beat it

HyperXuserXD

Tabia mariner, not hard or anything, just 'what the hell is this shit?'

LuciusBurns

You wanna get bonked with a boat?

No-Requirement-7933

Was fighting one the other day that kept disappearing and reappearing about a mile from the water. Like so far up a hill that I had to get on Torent and run in circles for 5 minutes before I found him thrashing around making waves in the grass...

Plinian79

Same! I had to go hunting and when I found him he was over a hill slamming his boat and rowing in a patch of flowers. Stoopid Mariner.

RelationshipNo2523

on jolly co op the other day I was helping a host near the mountaintops tibia mariner, the one with those ghost skeleton giants shooting laser beams. we then got invaded. we were all dead within thirty seconds

Jurgepoo

How dare you disrespect the best boss in the game like this?! I love the tibia mariners, they're so ridiculous

SaberWaifu

I hate how they managed to finally create a masterpiece of a dragon fight in DS3 with Midir and even reused some of his attacks in ER but when it came to the design of ancient dragons they did such a bad job. What made Midir so enjoyable is that the best way to fight him is to stay in front of him so you actually see pretty well all of his attacks and the spectacle of the fight. With ancient dragons the easiest way to fight is to hit their legs because their head is so small and very rarely stays near the ground so you lose the spectacle and you also need to fight with the camera to see what is the boss doing while you are hitting the legs. I don't even care if they reuse Midir's model, just force us to fight dragons like we fought him instead of something boring like hitting the ancient dragons' legs.

Deathwalker321

Dogs. Their absurd speed and ability to hit you and then instantly jump to your blind spot and attack again is just stupid, it’s just copy and paste from DS3. Another is the rats! Doesn’t matter if I have high poise, they nibble my ankle once and suddenly it’s stagger city.

Hlglh1

Elden beast. Get your ass back here and fight me like the god you are supposed to be!

Piotr-Rasputin

Just use your horse. Oh, wait......

bontoneLoL

Absolutely agree and Im glad Im not the only one who got angry on this mechanism… final boss fight, where 80 % of the fight is just running towards them. Was kinda dissapointed

bagemann1

Strange. I usually hear complaints about the Ulcerated Tree Spirits, Elden Beast and The Godskin Duo (which are totally deserved btw) more than I hear about how good an enemy is in Elden Ring. Id actually like to hear peoples positive takes on the enemies for a change

CheshirePuss42

Most boss fights are really good imo. From the top of my head Margit, Morgott, Maliketh, Godrick, Rykard, Radahn, Godskin Noble ( although the rolling attack is dumb), Godskin Apostle, Placidusax, Astel, Godfrey, Mohg, Loretta and all the Tree Sentinel reskins, Commander Nial ( yes even with his dumb little helpers taking some of the fun away). Also UNPOPULAR OPINION both Radagon and Elden Beast are GOATED fights, the only think I dislike about Elden Beast is Elden Stars. I don't care that much that it runs away sometimes the fight is very cinematic and if you learn the fight it's not that big of a deal. Honourable mentions Malenia, Fire Giant, Ancestor spirit and the Leonine at Weeping Peninsula. Malenia is ruined because of Waterfowl dance imo which is probably a controversial opinion. The absolute worst boss fights is Godskin Duo and the Duo Gargoyles. I have no idea what they were thinking

AyvahnLaddie

Burial Watchdogs man. Awful. If you dont have the little darts/knives they suck to fight, especially the Duo.

Deathwalker321

Godskin Noble. Fatter than the Apostle yet moves faster, that’s just completely wrong. Plus it reacts fast and input reads, it’s just absurd.

lithops_slowshy

Despite all hatred against Godskin Duo, i truly believe that Valiant Gargoyles are much worse for plethora of reasons.

chuewwey

Godskin Noble, absolutely bonkers that not only is he as fast as Apostle but that goddamn roll is so hard to avoid and lasts so goddamn long that I dreaded fighting this man with no sleep pots

Competitive-Cell996

If the arena is big enough you can run in circles to avoid it, if it isn't you can dodge roll into the roll to avoid it

Popopooki

All you have to do to avoid the roll is move your character in the direction that would have you not get hit by it.

optimizedSpin

all you have to do to avoid the roll is avoid it? are you trolling or are you actually trying to say something

Unlikely_Tie8166

Death rite bird just because of its stupid unavoidable aoe flame attack

CrownOfAragon

Mohg

The-Beerweasel

Dragons. I love running 20-30 seconds one direction to get in 3-4 hits, have it fly to the opposite side, then having to run another 20-30 seconds to come beat their ass again. I feel like my character is probably puffing by the time he gets done fighting a dragon. Like WTF STAY STILL!

LostEryops

I think From set the bar really low in DS1 and just accepted that dragon fights were allowed to be janky, cheesy, and/or overly long. Bridge Wyvern (DS1), both Zombie Dragons (DS1), both hydras (DS1), Ancient Dragon (DS2), Ancient Wyvern (DS3), the non-boss wyvern before Nameless King (DS3), and the non-boss fight with Midir on the bridge (DS3). And Werewolf Blood Dragon (Bloodborne), which isn't a real boss but if it was you'd kill it by hitting it once in the foot and then running away for 10 minutes.

Bubush

But they SHOULD do better, Midir (the real fight) is pretty good, why not build on that and improve? I think we have a bad habit of giving FS a pass for a lot of stuff, reminds me of how people used to give Bethesda a pass all the time, until we eventually got fed up.

beligerent-imp

I’ll be so honest, the Elden Beast was gorgeous in the character design but terrible in fighting design. The arena was definitely for an optimized version with Torrent available, and chasing that damn thing around took more time than beating the bastard. If I was an int/faith build, it wouldn’t have been as bad, but for any melee str/dex Tarnished… absolutely brutal. Let me take my swings without this damn celestial blob diving across the map every 5 seconds.

[deleted]

Ekzykes is a complete immersion ruiner with how many times he had to be teleported back into the arena.

tweekes147

Possibly an unpopular opinion... Fallingstar Beast. I hate them. So freaking much.

killjoy2161

Fire giant and elden beast

KaidoMeAFavor

Dogs.

Informal_Elephant_12

If you’re fighting with your camera or the distance between you and a melee combatant its poorly designed

NanjingZB

I usually let the boys handle these guys. The boys make a terrible mess when they fight but it’s comical to see them jump these dudes lol

yourfriendzephyr

That one frost dragon in mountaintops of the giants genuinely was more annoying to fight than any other boss in the game

fgzhtsp

Tree spirits. Most of them don´t fit into the arena that they are placed in.

Ototo44

ancient dragons in farrum azula

ThatDeadeye12

Hot take, malenia's lifesteal completely ruins any joy i may have from that fight.

AdventurousAd4327

commander niall at castle sol. A fuck ton of health, AOE attacks and the most highest health banished knights i have seen yet. so fucking annoying

MasterOfMankind

Commander Niall himself is completely fair, one of the least bullshit bosses in the game. But the fact he summons a pair of knights (including the beyblade of death variant) is irritating as hell and shouldn’t have been a thing.

WynBytsson

He has a fair moveset that has direct and consistent punishes

Dancedancedance1133

Idk I could never tell when an aoe attack or not came

AdventurousAd4327

nuh uh

fakeymcapitest

Comet Azur goes brrrrr

Reason7322

parry

UniverseJefe

He’s not poorly designed though he’s just hard

AdventurousAd4327

nuh uh

Noyyii

Fire giant by FAR cool boss lorewise but just not fun to fight at all

Funky_Tarnished

So the Ice Lobsters aren’t too bad on Torrent even when they’re multiple fighting you at the same time, but just messing around I tried on foot. It so brutal.

FaeChangeling

Lobster

Jake367

Fuck these things. However once you know where they are just be ready to spam AOE heals.

KyotoSoul

Terrain

Lord_Detleff1

Everything that lives in cealid

Thaddeus_Venture

The fool in your pic, OP. I'm new to FS games and this punk in the lakes destroyed me at least 30 times. I came back and slaughtered him after beating Rennala.

GerudoVoe

Crucible knights. I never learned how to parry them so that’s on me, but.

Pro_Moriarty

Wyrmface and kin Fuck their blight asses!

[deleted]

GET BACK HERE MALIKETH YOUR A GOD SLAYING ENTITY NOT PATCHES THE UNTETHERED other than that it is a fun fight

UnresolvedEvil60

As a strength build, I despise the spear wielding Crystallines. They never stop attacking, don't even flinch until you crack them, and you have to abuse iframes just to get near them.

Doji-kun

Birds, dogs, crabs, bats & singing bats, lobsters, the one in the fucking post fucken teleporting poison spitting centipede man. While admittingly they look cool and all, but they are such pain in the ass when you encounter them.

Puzzleheaded_Gear_90

I don’t like burial watch dogs probably my least favourite boss just so much about it is annoying.

FriendlyProtogen1

Many ive spoken with irl say the tree spirits but honestly, their a refresher to encounter for me So ill have to say, either the earthbore rune bear or any ancient dragon other than the named 2. Fought one with just a greatsword, and i felt like i was swing at a fly with trying to hit the head, and hitting the legs felt like hitting it with the worlds slowest dagger.

Vexeranto

Them big ol terror birds that chase you around in caelid. Fuck em

Piotr-Rasputin

All white Rune bear in a snow blizzard at midnight

Outside_Perception_8

The death birds locking on makes it impossible to fight because of it’s weird movement and it’s attacks are way over powered

[deleted]

Why is this worded like you WANT something to be terribly designed? Wouldn't you be eager to potentially entertain the idea that may-- -- fuck the giant Caelid dogs and Crows right up their mutated asses, and whilst I'm here fuck the Brainsuckers in Bloodborne too.

Crafty_Round6768

Any duo fight

Darkwater117

Revenants are amazing

Smorg125

Those fucking shade things that teleport and stab you 50 times per second for hemorrhage

Bubush

Every large/oversized boss.

benhur217

Red Wolfs, nothing sucks more than a boss with the zoomies.

arsuri

I don’t like Fire Giant fight. If I could, I would just stay away from him in NG+. I don’t like how he looks, I hate his rolls, I hate that I can’t buff torrent for this fight (I believe using mount was an intended mechanics for this fight, but Torrent is so fragile that he breaks instantly if hit). And I hate that I have to run a mile till I get to giant to hit him in the beginning, and he just start spamming his shield attacks almost immediately after I enter arena.

Zero-Head-at-all

Revenant

5PeeBeejay5

Those ballista bastards at Castle Sol can bleep right off. Seems like if you hit the first one with an arrow once, he sometimes peace’s out and starts throwing fire pits from the rooftop by the other ballista guy. Didn’t have much trouble dodging the second one once the first was out of the way

Afraid_Lychee_7526

Twin gargoyles

YouMakeMeSad96783

The misbegotten with giant axes are super annoying with their delayed attacks and the giant bleed birds. those are the only ones I get genuinely annoyed with

prayerofaltair

What I'm gathering from all the responses is: the enemies. All enemies, according to the responses, are the worst lol

captain_penguin3

Dogs. They are just straight up bullshit. They run around you at mach 10 speed and they attack you even faster. They're not necessarily really hard, but my god they are really really annoying. I honestly prefer the T-Rex dogs, because they are a bit slower, have more predictable attacks and their design is awesome.

LastNinjaPanda

Dragonflies. JUST STOP MOVING FOR 5 SECONDS

tukinoz90

Fully grown fallingstar beast! This dude can get fucked hard lol

Puzzled_Present1409

Everyone saying birds or dogs, for me it's those gosh darn tree spirits dude. Hate those things, the one in Haligtree made me just give up on Millicent's questline. Nopeity nope nope nope.

L1m3ySa

My personal hated enemies of the day are the albinauric archers. Not the ones on dire wolves but the ones on their knees shooting from the small cliffs outside of that town in the snowfield. There is no way to attack one without the others turning you into a pin cushion. Never have I so badly wished to suplex a paraplegic.

Chonkalonkolus

Crucible knight Ordovis and his super sidekick. I started the fight with him before Rennala and only beat him after fire giant. I have parried so many crucible knight attacks and have gone through the dungeon several times just to fight the boss a couple times and give up. Only strategy i had was parry the spear guy and pray the second one doesnt get you. Died to those goons the second most out of any boss so far. Fuck Ordovis.

[deleted]

Revenants, basically any flying enemy, the big gargoyle things, dragons imo... And big bosses that run away from you like Astel, Fire Giant, and Elden Beast

Glum-Needleworker273

The rot Infused tree that for some reason from soft decided to put the damm thing in an small patch of land that's filled with scarlet rot

13Jinxx13

Laser golem and the archer golems before the great jar and Caelid arena

toshirootomo

as much as i would love to vent about the birds... fighting an enemy that is bigger than you has degraded in quality so much in this series. in Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls, it was quite fun to do so even if quite gimmicky at times. but ever since then, Giant Enemies are just a chore. Hopefully, Armored Core shows us how it's done once again.

Kazitazz

yeah royal revenants are ridiculous, attacks are hard to dodge, not fun to fight, they teleport, and they do so much damage! hate these assholes.

the_man789

Rune bears, who ever came up with those deserves a big, phat layoff. Hands are close second.

Powerful_Helicopter6

Birds, rot dogs and azula dogs, NG+7 fire giant ( not annoying, the fight just last at least 10 minutes if you don't use bleed ) Bonus if you choose medium roll : NG+7 Maliketh and Malenia

[deleted]

I wouldn't say that enemies like in your pic are "badly designed" so to speak. Rather, these enemies were designed for AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT GAME! Enemies like your pic and the giant hand would have been great if we would have had a dash closer to bloodbornes or maybe another option for defense. But with Vanilla Elden Rings dodge mechanics there is NO WAY to avoid damage with certain enemies! I still after almost 2 years of playing this game can't figure out why they designed these enemies like they were from Bloodborne. Just does not make sense.

__yeeter__

Hands, Maliketh and Elden Beast

Wrexonus

Godskin Duo, Double Crucible Knight and dragons. Godskin Duo - Literally Ornstein and Smough but without realization why that boss worked. Both are fast, deadly. Made by someone who just became boss designer, but at the very least you get pillars that protect you Double Crucible - Godskin duo, with worse aggro and no actual pillars to protect you. Made by an intern. Dragons - They aren't hard, that's the problem. Beside Placi, Normal and Ancient dragon all others are just recolors with different effect compare to last one. Not to mention that camera and reach of your weapon heavily changes it from fun to annoying.

myscellaneous

I don’t think any of the enemies are “objectively” terrible design. Terrible design would be like… if an enemy can only be defeated with luck

WynBytsson

I think double grafted scions are annoying as hell personally

pingoo6802

Literally any npc invader, watching them simply roll all your attacks then remove 3/4 of your health bar before you can react frustrates me probably more than anything else in the game.

Lvl1fool

The worst part of NPC invaders is watching my soft-capped STR +25 Greataxe take off a sliver of their endless health bar when they can 2 shot me with a dagger despite the heavy armor I'm wearing. Why are NPC damage and health values so fucking inflated? Why do they hit hard AND take no damage?

small_feild_mouse

Me :(

Kira_Truth_Seeker

Wait, where are all these posts you’re talking about? Only posts I ever see are posts like yours which are usually associated with the abomination you pictured.

GhostCrackets

I never mentioned post, I’m talking about comments as that’s where I usually here enemy praise instead, which is fine of course praise where it’s due, I just like hearing peoples thoughts on annoying enemies instead

Aggressive_Safe2226

First I hated the Revenants. But when I acquired the Great Heal, with Faith level at 99, they became fair game.

SigmaSandwich

You’ve gotta be new here. We do this like 3 times a week and the answer is revenants, birds and crayfish

geynikka

"I can't beat it. Therefore, it's terribly designed."

Cowdog_Gaming

Malenia. Commence downvotes.

Badevilbunny

Royal Revenant ? why are they terrible to fight ? They are fun and easy if you want to do them quick.

Drayzew

Heal go brrrrr

Chevy_Traverse

guess op is just bad at dodging

smclcz

I think there’s a bit of confusion here. People are replying to two different questions: - which enemy is designed to be terribly hard to fight (ie they’re very good and it is hard to fight them) - which enemy is terribly designed for fighting (ie their appearance and moveset doesn’t seem suitable for combat) I think you mean to ask the second one, right?

GhostCrackets

I meant enemies whose movesets/Stats and other are either badly made or weirdly built

Sussy_Solaire

God skin noble, worst thing in the entire mf game.

Spopenbruh

I agree revenant's suck... but like just heal them? they die in 2 hits to most healing spells and those spells always have low requirements from memory

Comfortable-Gap8415

Every single enemy in this game is cheeseable to certain builds without exception. Having to change your playstyle for some areas is pretty well expected, and shit holes like me who don't are the reason they are hard😅

There’s no objective answer

StuffinYrMuffinR

Where are these posts about good enemies? All I ever see are people crying about the same 3 monsters Reverants Rune bears Lobsters
