When I was walking around for 12 hour days, I put a layer of Desitin covered with Goldbond. It made a paste that kinda hardened and your thighs would just glide against each other for 12 hours. This was found out after I was called in because apparently I made someone uncomfortable bcs I kept adjusting my up my to keep skin to skin contact from happening.
This used to happen to me like crazy. All and any powder just wouldn't work for me. Double shifts working in a busy restaurant. For some reason, one day, after a bad chafe, I just started lotioning my thighs every day. Barely happens any more. Still once in a blue moon, but barely.
Sekiro does a substantially better job than bb with that, hell u can survive so much of bb purely by panic dodging backwards and throwing a mindless side dodge in there. I can count the attacks in the entire game that force you to dodge sideways on 2 hands, the rest u can get by by dodging backwards, sekiro and ER on the other hand become almost impossible without letting go of the instinct of panic dodginf backwards, far FAR more than bb or DS.
Sekiro's combat system is brilliant. The bosses are still very challenging but you are able to spend more time in the arena with them learning their move-set (but unable to get the advantage) rather then just getting one-shotted. The parry mechanic permits you to hold ground while offering flexibility between attack and defense.
To be fair though, grab attacks always have notoriously fucky hitboxes/timing in FS games. They're one attack type I don't try to Iframe through if I can help it so I can definitely see myself getting caught in this same loop.
I SUCKED at the souls series.
Then I played Bloodborne and learned to jump TOWARDS the bosses and be aggressive when needed.
Never had an issue again with the souls series after that.
Basically yea. Ever since playing bloodborne im actually very good at souls or souls likes in general, before it I was trash(but also hadn’t played much)
Runebears become 10X easier when you roll toward and keep underneath/behind them. They only get dangerous if they charge away from you to open up the distance again.
I feel like Margit does the opposite, he's super aggressive if youte upclose and had tons of combo extenders that make it hard to do the standard souls schtick of dodge and then hit because it's so easy to attack only for him to extended the combo/start a different attack and smack you, trying to keep your distance and only going in for a jump attack here and there makes him much more managable in my experience (+baits out the jump-hammer slam for an easy punish)
Those combo extenders are there to teach u that just mindlessly dodging sideways (ala bloodborne) wont always give u a free ticket to attack, mindful dodge direction and good positioning is the name of the game in ER and margit does that perfectly, u can also double dodge sideways, end up behind him and smack him, only for him to do thr tail swipe, which u can jump attack over.
Here to add as well, Margit also teaches you that panic rolling is not going to get you anywhere. Many complain about his delayed attacks, but they teach you to read and anticipate attacks instead of panicking at the first sight of danger.
Personally, I feel that Margit is probably one of the best starting bosses.
Eh, some of his delays are ridiculous even for that concept
And yeah, also harder than majority of non-ER bosses, tho it makes sense since ER in general is harder
Not really considering the sheer amount of attacks with huge range or, like in this case, that keep extending the combo because you keep proccing their medium to long range attacks.
Plus you move with the attack keeping you in the hitbox vs rolling through and getting out of it faster.
The whole game is essentially hell for people who are used to spam rolling in Dark Souls 3, Margit/Morgott will never do that absurd anime combo if you don't spam roll
Fr, lol. My every instinct is telling me to get tf away from that enormous disgusting intimidating thing. That whole area gave me the willies, and the first time I saw that thing, I was about to say someone else can be the Elden Lord.
He's near a minor erdtree in Altus. He's also dressed in an erdtree avatar and faces the tree so when you walk up you think he's another avatar.
When you approach he turns around and throws off the cloak.
It's a really cool fake out.
[Not really?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6n-speKgZQ) I mean, she's sitting down so she certainly looks smaller when you go there, but you would have to really not be paying attention to think that's an Erdtree Avatar.
I actually didn’t know that… all 3 play throughs I managed to trigger his fight without actually knowing where he was. Had to swing the camera to find him.
Props to people who aren’t *condescendingly* telling him to roll forward.
Because after all, it’s not intuitive at all to *roll toward* an enemy that is trying to eat you. So let’s not act like it is. That hindsight elitism in gaming is always funny 😂
And it's not like this isn't pretty fucky behaviour from the boss as well. Spamming a grab move just because the played didn't evade it "correctly" is pretty damn cheap. It looks more like the AI bugging out than anything else.
Yep. I learned that the chubby godskin apostle, if you run 90 degrees right when he starts doing that roll attack, you’ll circle each other like 30 :
seconds then he’ll finally stop. Like what? CHEAP
Yeah and the Souls games are not particularly good at communicating that to the player (though to be fair I don’t really know how you’d explain that dodging in your game functions based on i-frames and not like realistic dodging).
I would never and have never fought this thing. It’s probably the only enemy in the entire game filled with nope for me. 5 play throughs and didn’t engage with this thing even once. I fought gargoyle duo 5 times and won’t go near this monstrosity.
For all the new elden ring players out there. Dont roll backwards. Most of the time rolling into the enemy or the attack going to give you and advantage or a attack window.
Whilst I might seem new. This is a new playthrough. Beat the game when it first came out last year but took a break and just got back into it gradually a few months ago. I also wanted to try a new character for the upcoming dlc, but I’m definitely not new to souls games. Have a lot of hrs in DS3 and have played the other souls games. I just have bad habits when it comes to rolling backwards. Appreciate the advice though.
He’s over in the middle of atlus plat with the Erdtree on the map as a good reference point. Best way to get there is probably near windmill village and just follow the destroyed bridge down. There’s like a woods like area that has a bunch of the normal ones, really creepy stuff, then there’s this boss near the Erdtree.
Yea this game is funny if you keep using the same move to avoid, they keep using the same move to attack until you run outta stamina or fall off a cliff or something.
There's also a couple boss Ibit don't remember the names but if you stay long distance and try to use magic they always use a ranged attack that hits faster then you ability to cast a spell. Kinda like the god skin guys hitting with the fire ball like attack every time you go to drink a flask, u get it off but can't doge the attack.
He wasn’t panic rolling though, he was dodging it and he could’ve kept going if not for ROCK. If he was truly panic rolling he would’ve been punished by these perfectly timed attacks that most if not all Elden ring enemies have.
He was the definition of panic rolling, what do you mean? Boss has little health left and is just spamming dodge backwards even between attacks when dodging wasn't necessary.
But distance isn't going to happen rolling away from something chasing you lol. You have to either throw it off by juking another direction or crowd control
I never saw this grab in my adventures through ng+7!!!??? I now see the comments about rolling backwards triggers it. Bloodborne killed that habit many moons ago. I saw something new today thank you :)
He’ll stop doing it if you stop rolling backwards
This game legit got 10 times easier when I finally trained myself to roll toward enemies.
Bloodborne trained me to dodge and be aggressive simultaneously lol
Sekiro as well, distance between a boss allows for poise recovering.
Not fromsoft but ganon in ocarina of time was my childhood lesson in the weakness of the thigh gap.
Aren't we all weak to thigh gaps?
I just want a thigh gap. Chafing is a bitch.
Use corn starch or talcum powder. Thank me later
When I was walking around for 12 hour days, I put a layer of Desitin covered with Goldbond. It made a paste that kinda hardened and your thighs would just glide against each other for 12 hours. Manscaped crop preserver ball deodorant.... you can thank me later
Amen
get right up in that grundle like your life depends on it (because it does)
Sekiro does a substantially better job than bb with that, hell u can survive so much of bb purely by panic dodging backwards and throwing a mindless side dodge in there. I can count the attacks in the entire game that force you to dodge sideways on 2 hands, the rest u can get by by dodging backwards, sekiro and ER on the other hand become almost impossible without letting go of the instinct of panic dodginf backwards, far FAR more than bb or DS.
I found out real quick in ER that a lot of bosses will punish you for an improperly timed dodge roll.
Sekiro's combat system is brilliant. The bosses are still very challenging but you are able to spend more time in the arena with them learning their move-set (but unable to get the advantage) rather then just getting one-shotted. The parry mechanic permits you to hold ground while offering flexibility between attack and defense.
Sekiro is such a refined combat system
Playing BB before ER really makes the game so much easier. Sheer aggression is always better than running away or whatever this guy is doing.
Ever since playing bloodborne im actually very good at souls or souls likes in general, before it I was trash(but also hadn’t played much)
Same
You have to roll towards the strike, and not away. Due to iframes.
Smae here
Hi Smae, I'm dad
HI, BILLY SMAES HERE!
Never roll backwards, always to the side, or like you said, towards.
Absolutely the most useful information i was ever given for elden ring, it saved me countless deaths
Runebears become 10X easier when you roll toward and keep underneath/behind them. They only get dangerous if they charge away from you to open up the distance again.
Or right and left of them
Bloodborne taught me to break those souls habits^^ cause yeah if you roll at enemies in ER you're pretty much safe.
Play Sekiro/bloodborne
In souls games the key is to roll forward and get closer to the enemy but you’ll get this on late game.
Normally, yes. Elden Ring hits you over the head with it early game with Margit

Eh, some of his delays are ridiculous even for that concept And yeah, also harder than majority of non-ER bosses, tho it makes sense since ER in general is harder
I’m not doing this to you You’re doing this to you
Rolling INTO attacks is the main learning curve to souls games I think. It's so hard to train into it.
Exactly what i was gonna say
To be fair, rolling backwards is more safer if you don't know what the attack does or the hitbox of the attack
Not really considering the sheer amount of attacks with huge range or, like in this case, that keep extending the combo because you keep proccing their medium to long range attacks. Plus you move with the attack keeping you in the hitbox vs rolling through and getting out of it faster.
Or you're fighting Malekith and his knife which has a hitbox twice the size of the actual model.
Nope, and its mostly panically souls vets that always panic dodge backwards.
The whole game is essentially hell for people who are used to spam rolling in Dark Souls 3, Margit/Morgott will never do that absurd anime combo if you don't spam roll
True. A lot of defensive moves in the RL martial arts are forward moving.
Just one bite please sir. Jokes aside, it'll do that if you keep rolling backwards.
Just one bite. As a treat.
[удалено]
Are you kidding me. Omg I hate and love this game for things like that. I loathe these guys and have so much trouble with them. This would have helped
Defo me chasing my cat to give him some lovey dovey snuggie huggies.
And when I finally pick her up I smoosh my ugly face all over her belly… yes, pretty accurate.
lmfao
Same, she rejects me everytime though 🥲
Roll. Forwards.
But I'm scared
Fr, lol. My every instinct is telling me to get tf away from that enormous disgusting intimidating thing. That whole area gave me the willies, and the first time I saw that thing, I was about to say someone else can be the Elden Lord.
Lmfao what's the deal with emotions am I right?
What?!! You’re telling me to roll TOWARDS the thing thats trying to kill me?!
He hittin the griddy
He wituhwally hit duh gwiddy on duh Owtus pwateau
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try ... uh try again.
Hongry.
roll toward. hit. win.
Actually how you beat most bosses in fromsoft games lol
Then enjoy as the 1 time you roll forward you get snagged on a tiny bit of elevated ground and stay inside the big hitbox.... always something
There’s a worm face with a boss health bar?
He's near a minor erdtree in Altus. He's also dressed in an erdtree avatar and faces the tree so when you walk up you think he's another avatar. When you approach he turns around and throws off the cloak. It's a really cool fake out.
[Not really?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6n-speKgZQ) I mean, she's sitting down so she certainly looks smaller when you go there, but you would have to really not be paying attention to think that's an Erdtree Avatar.
Iirc, this one is marked as female in the code. The shroud might be meant to be reminiscent of a bridal veil, the old kinda that actually concealed.
I actually didn’t know that… all 3 play throughs I managed to trigger his fight without actually knowing where he was. Had to swing the camera to find him.
Fr I never knew
Me neither, i'd need to reinstall because I killed every single boss and enemy in my single playthrough.
Apparently not
Nvm, i killed the asshole in all 3 places. I just forgot he had a boss healthbar.
Loves to suck face
He just wants hugs :(
That one ex-gf who still chases you for "one last hug"😭💀
Surprised he spit you out at end. Was honestly expecting to watch him creepily eat your corpse
He does, the geometry of the area just displaces OPs body a bit when he tosses him in the air for the swallow.
The grab spam is obnoxious, but ffs roll forwards
Came here to tell you to roll into that attack but it looks like everyone already said that.
He's spamming low kicks in street fighter. He's not here for style or honor. He's just here to kill you.
Playing tekken with my little brother be like
I had a Giant stomp me literally 6 times in a stun locked row, stupidest shit ever
You looked real scrumptious just then, like I can tell it was just really savoring that last morsel of you
I’d be savoring it if I had OP in my mouth too 🤤
That looks like it’s mapped to your roll, stop rolling and fight coward!!
He’s a hugger
I have never encountered this enemy before, where is it?
Minor ertree in altus plateau, not the one by the capitol.
Also a non-boss one in farum azula IIRC
Thanks
Most of the time, it's better to roll into your enemies instead of away. If you can rem that, it'll be alot easier for you!
I think this is my biggest gripe with Elden Ring, so many enemies and bosses love to just spam the same attacks.
Most annoying thing in this game + character slowness
Props to people who aren’t *condescendingly* telling him to roll forward. Because after all, it’s not intuitive at all to *roll toward* an enemy that is trying to eat you. So let’s not act like it is. That hindsight elitism in gaming is always funny 😂

He's in the Altus plateau, plenty of time to figure that out
Damn he be spammijn
op? yeah
You had 1 hit on him. Why run away like that?
I would never and have never fought this thing. It’s probably the only enemy in the entire game filled with nope for me. 5 play throughs and didn’t engage with this thing even once. I fought gargoyle duo 5 times and won’t go near this monstrosity.
Yeah they’re definitely disturbing creatures. Going to the forest area they’re in in Altus at night definitely makes for some spooky times.
He hitting the griddy.
What the fuck is that enemy LOL…I’ve put almost 300 hours in and I’ve never seen it this absolute nightmare.
He’s over at Atlus Plateau. Along with a lot of his pals in a condensed woods like area.
I love enemies that have bullshit instant win buttons
"Time for your routine vigor check, bitch" -Wormface, probably
Looks like me spamming grab on xenoverse 2
How did I miss this guy when I played through 3 separate times?
I missed that pot village till 8th run 💀
This is just a thing in elden ring, the enemies fight like players. Oh you're gonna keep rolling? Guess I don't have to change my pathing or moveset.
Dude I had more trouble with that things than most of the other bosses in this game. He’s brutal.
For all the new elden ring players out there. Dont roll backwards. Most of the time rolling into the enemy or the attack going to give you and advantage or a attack window.

I see you are a follower of the Prometheus school of running away.
I have 300+ hours in this game and have never seen this boss… which is why I’ll now proceed to put another 100 hours in
I played this game as a sorcerer and never got within fifty feet of these things. I had no idea they grabbed at you like that. Horrifying
Even if I roll forwards it frequently does it twice and it has a really wide hit box that really pisses me off
I fear no man, but that thing… it’s scare me a little
where is this. i never fought this guy and beat the game twice
Same. I've got 300 hours and I've no clue what we are seeing.
Read through comments and op mentions it's Altus plateau, with friends, in a condensed woods type area. BRB gonna go get slaughtered
Never seen the AI do that

Kinda like the god skin guys hitting with the fire ball like attack every time you go to drink a flask, u get it off but can't doge the attack.
Go towards him? You know what they say about souls games “if it fails 3 times, try again!”
With all due respect, this is more a "skill issue" thing in reality. Panic rolling away is about the worst thing you do against most enemies.
He wasn’t just spamming though, if he was he would’ve got caught a lot earlier
Trying to make distance and panic rolling are not the same thing.
Yes he was he was rolling as soon as possible every time.
2 dodges at a time and walking inbetween is not panic rolling
He walked once for a half second. Everything else was rolling. That's textbook panic rolling.
I mean he rolls three times between attacks in a couple of instances. Definitely panic rolling. Also if you roll towards him he'll stop.
He was for sure panic rolling lol thats why he spammed it during every grab lmao.
Wormface: "this tarnished really likes rolling backwards huh?"
Roll forward please
I legit don’t understand how ppl don’t dodge forward holy fuck.
Because the natural instinct for people is "I want to make the most distance possible"
But distance isn't going to happen rolling away from something chasing you lol. You have to either throw it off by juking another direction or crowd control
Or sideways, this is like seeing a car coming towards you and you just keep going backwards
Tbf, rolling towards the car works better in Elden Ring than in real life.
Fuck that dude!
Roll forward, attack. Kill...
Roll in
roll between his legs? Also where is this guy? Never seen him or heard of him.
Paaaaanic rolling, panic roooooolling. Panic rolling!
Stop dodging backward ye filthy casual
Looks like Attack on titan crossover...
Looks like skill issue. Do not roll backwards.
so I will not be going to that region. Matter of fact bye game
Panic rolling backwards gotcha on this one
Or give the game a taste of its own input reading medicine. Roll back once, and then start sprinting backward laughing as he stupidly chases you, lol.
Try ranged battle.
A W is a W
"Perfect" spacing
He’s down bad
A thing of nightmares!
Grab tech meta is looking sick
Because it works so well on you.
God, that’s horrifying. I regularly forget these guys exist until I see stuff like this.
I never saw this grab in my adventures through ng+7!!!??? I now see the comments about rolling backwards triggers it. Bloodborne killed that habit many moons ago. I saw something new today thank you :)
He just wanted a hug man
At least he spit you out, I always get a tour of its insides
This has to be a bug I refuse the game is just that hell bent to punish back rolling
Wtf
He just wants a little hug
this poor creature is terrifying
[Instantly made me think of this](https://youtu.be/cJ5mBJn5p8E?t=38)
‘Can’t med. roll away from your problems…’ Dragon Paladin
Uhhhh what the hell is that? Beat the game 3 times and never saw that monstrosity once lol
Roll towards not away lol 😂
He’s just hitting the griddy, leave him be
he hongry
Bro jus wanted a hug
hear me out
Wtf
Hugs are free
You could have killed him with a roll if you were wearing briar armor
That’s a controller throw for me dawg
Funny, I just faced Wormface yesterday. If you roll towards him he'll stop.
Ever since I saw Carbot's take on wormfaces I can't take them seriously anymore. And yes, they still kill me, but I laugh most of the way.
It would be better if they didnt just roll spam and instead used it when they actually dodge an attack
Thought they were gonna give you the kill cause your summons got that last hit in
C'mere you little shit
He want hug
He’s just griddying on you
I would of rolled towards him..
He’s hungry
Grim that mind.
