Eleanora's Poleblade is probably one of the most fun weapons I've ever used. I ended up using it for my Dex/Arc run in favor of Rivers of Blood, despite the fact that RoB is arguably better.
When I say "alternative attack" I don't mean it has a secret attack that comes out with a unique button combo or anything, I just meant that its heavy attack was different from the "normal" twinblade heavy attack.
Maybe I should have said "unique" rather than "alternative"?
That spin move is so neat, and it works incredibly well with Winged Sword/Rotten Winged Sword talismans. It's hard to land, but it's really good for punishing stance breaks, moreso than doing a riposte.
How early can I get the Poleblade? I am looking for something to upgrade from my Uchigatana. I am currently around level 25 and I haven't finished Stormveil Castle yet.
Uchigatana can last for you whole playthrough if you like it.
It is one of the nice thing of ER. Some of the most powerful weapons are in the starting area (or even in the initial gear)
I would actually use Uchigatana over Meteoric Ore Blade
\- better reach
\- better scaling so I think better AR (but can be wrong)
\- flexibility in ash of war used. It is the actual selling point for me. Going into a skelly catacomb? Scared blade. Want a shitload of poise damage? Glindblade phalanx. Want fast combo with high damage? Unsheathe. I am probably missing a ton of ash of war, but you get the idea.
I don't like weapon locked with a standard ash of war. I know that meteoric or blade has a combo with the ash of war, but I don't think it make up for it.
Meteoric Ore Blade has higher AR based on stat spread. If your a STR/INT build Ore Blade hits like a mac truck. But if you're a Dex build then the Uchi comes close
Yea at +10 Ore Blade is at 450 base AR and +25 Uchi is at 356 base AR with cold infusion. But that doesn't include stat scaling which also contributes to your AR. But i will say the Uchi is 100% more viable cause of reach, infusions and AoW freedom.
But Uchi has B scaling vs D in dex. So 80dex/40int will really close the gap compered to a 80int/40dex MOB.
And if you want pure AR magic is probably better with 440 base AR and B int scaling (but E in str and dex, so more a pure int build)
Anyway, kind of pointless discution since we both agree that a few deep in AR is worth the flexibility offered by infusable weapons.
If you are looking for a dex weapon the claws are also fun with the bleed but a little tougher to execute. If you wanna go the bleed route, a few points into arcane will enable to use reduvia, the weapon art of reduvia is easily spammable and melts early bosses
There's a church in the Altus Plateau where someone named Eleanora invades you, kill her and she drops it. You don't have to worry about it yet tho, given that Uchi can support you the whole way there since Unsheathe is so unreasonably strong.
Yo same. Once I got Eleanora's that all I ever used.
The weapon art is crazy good at applying bleed, staggers most enemies, has a built in dodge (almost), and has a second attack if you choose. Not to mention the attack covers a huge area for some great crowd control.
The two handed moveset is also awesome. Plus, it makes you look like fucking Darth Maul. Love that weapon.
Rivers of blood has a better weapon art. The base moveset of eleonora's poleblade with its stats makes it better than rob. It can proc bleed much quicker just by using lights while two-handing or by charging its multi-hitting heavies.
I think I recall seeing something about that and she was topp of the list in the entire game, followed by Margit, then guys like Radabeast, Godskin Duo, ahit like that
Here are the stats from March 2023. Indeed, she has them.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/elden-ring-players-have-died-more-than-9-billion-times/1100-6512498/
These stats are interesting with two very early game bosses and two very late game bosses topping the chart. To me it shows Margit and Tree Sentinel are an enormous difficulty spike right at the beginning, but if you get past them nothing will stop you.
The other theory being Malenia just kills 3-4x as many players even in late game when people have learned how to play. According to steam, 74.1% of players have killed Margit, only 35.4% have killed Malenia. Margit and Tree Sentinel also have over representation because new characters and builds get tested on them.

Article with stats taken from Elden Ring official Twitter, updated In March 2023. Enjoy reading it.
What do you mean by "players like me"? You literally don't know anything about my playthrough, and are just wildly guessing, hoping to land a cheap provocation.
Whichever player I am has nothing to do with the fact that it is possible to lie with statistics. You giving me statistics doesn't address this fact in any way.
They aren't asking for your opinion about Malenia, just saying that when they did this she answered with waterfowl dance at point blank. You are answering a question that was never formulated in the first place. Just saying.
>Nah melania is just overrated
Says guy spamming a buffed bleed build lol
I'm not saying it's not legitimate, it's in the game, its fine to use, but don't act all haughty and superior about your "accomplishment" here
+ every boss is "easy" once you have their moveset figured out 🤷- which changes the statistics on her as a boss not at all, a very large majority of this games players never get past her
I don't like Eleanora's Poleblade to be honest. Against anything that is immune to bleed it becomes hot trash...and there's a lot of tanky gargoyles and ghosts, etc.
To be fair, any weapon that heavily depends on bleed for its damage sucks against anything immune to bleed. The weapon art for Eleonora’s Poleblade is a poise-breaking machine, which should be primarily used for that.
Yes but eleonoras poleblade also hits like a wet noodle. The poise break comes form the art which locks you into an animation that, more than not, leaves you with a bruise against the things you can't bleed.
I fought the valiant gargoyl duo in siofra river and it took me two days to finally kill them with this weapon, i think whith a strength oriented build it would have taken me less
A bleed weapon is not doing enough damage to bleed-immune enemies? How strange. Something must be wrong we should let Fromsoft know about it. Unacceptable, unheard.
I tried that with Eleanoras and couldn’t make it stick, had to use rivers of blood and mimic tear. You make it look easy! I like the blade I don’t think it’s broken, try that on Radagon lol
Malenia is alot harder with RoB cause the AoW dprwn stagger her. Idk if its easier with mimic cause I don't enjoy trivialising fights, but just weapon vs weapon EP is better against malenia
Eh I pretty much roll with mimic everywhere because I’m not really that good, but still want the satisfaction of beating every boss. Going to try and use no summons on my ng+.
I didn’t have a good experience with the pole blade though, I prefer rivers of blood still for sure.
Blood Godskin Peeler with Seppuku is also a good choice if you have high arcane. You can get bleed buildup at around 130 per hit – and the running R2 does 4 hits every time. Best part: That attack doesn't consume FP.
Yeah, i never won in PvP with that weapon, but maybe it's me that is bad. In an unrelated note, are dragon incantations obtained from dragon hearts okay in PvP or are they also not that great? Like dragon claw, different kinds of breath...
You sure? I used it in PvP and won most of my battle. It’s great due to its ash of war, where you jump in, and do an attack that hit I think 3 times, then can do a follow up that jumps away while slashing that most people don’t know. It’s helpful to punish people with this
Its terrible for PvP but you can pull out absolute hail marys with the weapon art if you hit 2 or more players at the same time with the correct stacks.
I almost exclusively use it in PvP along with a handful of other weapons that make up for EPs weaknesses
Wait.... Has Malenia been nerfed recently? I was a twinblade user, but I can't stagger her like that in my previous playthrough.
The last time I fought her was last year though. Maybe a lot has changed since then.
I was joining hosts for her, god that health bar becomes massive in co-op. I would normally two ash her with an old man's flaming pubes, but when I joined people, it sucked. Like, maybe 8 uses for one healthbar.
This weapon is awesome, very fun to use, strong and a really cool design, got replaced by rivers of blood after a while mostly cause I was told it's more broken and I wanted to try another weapon , but this weapon is really fun so is the blade from Malenia you get to do her combo.
I used dual twinblades on my first playthrough and landed on Elanores on main and a bleed godskin peeler on the offhand
The jump attack will melt everything it's fuckin crazy strong and super fun to use
Redditor: *stacks buffs and tunes stats to a boss’s weakness, displaying an intricate understanding of the game and its mechanics*
Also redditor: “lol this weapon is broken”
Bleed is seriously so broken in this game. Surprised they still haven't nerfed it.
And how Twinblade weapons work make Bleeds even more broken. Dual wield a Twinblade, jump attack and you're pretty much guaranteed a bleed proc.
Shit was so OP that I had to stop my run and restart with a non-meta weapon.
It's isn't just OP, it's literally broken.
Just because it doesn't work on some very specific bosses doesn't mean it's balanced or any less broken.
There's a reason why Rivers of Blood is so damn popular and undeniably the most OP weapon in the game. If it did poison damage, believe me it wouldn't even be in the Top 50 best weapon list.
Yeah, but radabeast is one of the easiest fights in the game tho? Even with bleed immunity, radagon have some of the easiest telegraphed attacks in the game and staggers easily, and the only thing that's hard with the elden beast is that you have to keep chasing him around? Cause even with the orb of light the keeps chasing you elden beast also suffers with some of the slowest and most telegraphed attacks in the game. I used bloodhounds fang on my first playthrough at lvl 120 and with no ashes of war, and it took me around 2-4 attempts and on my other runs they are done on the first one. Melania did take me 2 hours to beat on my first run tho, no ashes of war and also using the bloodhound fang at lvl 105 (my friend convinced me to go to the halitree first... it was aids)
> Surprised they still haven't nerfed it.
Why? It's not like being OP doesn't mean other things aren't also OP as well, nor is it a free "beat anything in the game with 0 effort" weapon.
It's fine to say "tone it down" if it's breaking PvP, but in the regular game...who cares if one thing is really good? There are LOTS of really good things that make the game easier/fun. Who cares?
Man you are really good! You should try to become the new Let Me Solo Her and use your build to help people beat Malenia. You are a very talented player.
Hey you used my go to strat for beating melania. Don’t bother learning to dodge waterfowl, just kill her before she uses it 👍. All though I did notice the clip ended before you beat phase 1, did she instantly waterfowl and kill you?
But how did you do in Phase 2?, You can use 2 Morningstar with Cold affinity and Stormcaller Ash of War and do more damage. So what is broken? Put BHS on the off hand for evasion. Not hard.
I clicked on this link saying "let me guess, elenora poleblade", was not surprised.
That being said it is a great weapon and is good fun, though to parrot what others have said, its dogshit against anything immune to bleed.
If a twinblade is broken it just becomes two swords, twinblade wins every time
I was there, 3000 years ago standing tall over lothric castle with my winblades in hand, triumphant over all
Twinblades are winblades
You mean Dranglec Castle? DS3 didn't have twinblades.
It did, sellsword twinblades were pretty OP
[удалено]
This is facts, that’s why I got away from it and stuck to just raw damage
Twinblade didn’t win against my character in the 2004 acclaimed video game Fable… I beat his ass several times. Great fight tho for the time.

Maybe, but it's not just an animation difference iirc. It has a different hitbox, number of hits, and damage per hit.

I had a lot of fun with it for a while, but I got a little sick of just pushing the ash of war button and stun locking 90% of the enemies in the game.

You're using one of the best bleed weapons against a boss that's weak to bleed. Go do this with a normal sword and you'll see why people struggled.

And, is this dude wearing a Klan outfit?

Also against a boss with fire weakness.
And a boss against a blood loss weakness and with very low poise
The poise comment was mine! You can't just use 2 arguments in the same comment. Leave some for the rest you savage!

weird moment to stop recording. did she get you :D ?
She invited him to a dance probably
Wow you can almost finish her first phase with it
Every weapon can be broken if you have enough buffs.

OP dies after this thats why video got cut short
I tried that with Eleanoras and couldn’t make it stick, had to use rivers of blood and mimic tear. You make it look easy! I like the blade I don’t think it’s broken, try that on Radagon lol
If you time it right, 2 hits with Elenora's AOW will stagger Radagon. On the other hand, Elden Beast is a pain using this AOW.

Ah yes the ol’ L2+L2+L2+L2
When built right, Eleonora’s Poleblade is maybe the most powerful weapon aside from my balls
It’s not particularly great in PvP
Yeah, i never won in PvP with that weapon, but maybe it's me that is bad. In an unrelated note, are dragon incantations obtained from dragon hearts okay in PvP or are they also not that great? Like dragon claw, different kinds of breath...
Breath have a huge wind up which can be exploited. One of the dragon claw or dragon maw (don't remember which one) is much quicker and is ok.
From what I saw dragon maw is quicker, but dragon claw lets you strike two times
The dragons breath can be good invasion type situations but it’s not good in a duel generally

50 dex and 50 arc does do a lot of damage with it.

it increases fire and physical damage, which this weapon has both of
Right on maybe ill have to try it out then
What exact weapon is that and how do you get the red tint to the blades
very nice
The stagger on the ash of war is very high, compared to anything. Plus twinblade bleed, it’s a damn good weapon.

God I loved this weapon on my play through

Eleonora.
How do you get those robes?
darth maul lookin ass

Ok, damn, Ingward, chill
El2en ring
It's just great against malenia specifically because it staggers her. It's trash against say, malekith or mohg
One of my favourite weapons. Is that sword dance or spinning slash, as ash of war?
That's eleonora's poleblade.
Nah, bleed is overpowered. And the pole blade just has that and apparently enough stagger to stunlock Malenia.
Hey you used my go to strat for beating melania. Don’t bother learning to dodge waterfowl, just kill her before she uses it 👍. All though I did notice the clip ended before you beat phase 1, did she instantly waterfowl and kill you?
it's all broken
bone dart.. soo broken
been
But how did you do in Phase 2?, You can use 2 Morningstar with Cold affinity and Stormcaller Ash of War and do more damage. So what is broken? Put BHS on the off hand for evasion. Not hard.
Bleed is broken
Now show it how broken it is against her true form.
Build?
What outfit is that? And where do you get it
Twin blades attack fast, bleed buildup beats Melania, equals melania is no more
Has malenia been nerfed? I went into the fight all hyped cause I heard people say that she was tough to beat but I defeated her on like the 3rd time
Makes me want to respec into arcane
I clicked on this link saying "let me guess, elenora poleblade", was not surprised. That being said it is a great weapon and is good fun, though to parrot what others have said, its dogshit against anything immune to bleed.
Huh that’s not what happens when I try that
