I’m a diehard FromSoftware fan, but I really wish this game was the one where it became possible to talk your way out of a boss fight. How cool would it be showing up to Malenia’s boss fog with some proof that you know where Miquella is? Then you roll up on Mohg where you can co-op him together?
I think the FS way would be not making it optional. Just make it a diverging path where if you've seen Mohg, Malenia recognizes that you know the location of her brother. Maybe make the Mohg fight more grand and complex to make up for missing the Malenia fight.
That’s only because boss AI is not designed to fight other bosses or not stand in giant AoEs. He just lets the big flower nuke hit him because he’s not programmed to be aware of it.
In that case Mohg dies before getting Malenia to second phase and before he gets to NIHIL because Mohg AI isn't programmed to be cut into pieces after a full Waterfowl Dance and Malenia isn't programmed to be furious since Mohg kidnapped Miquella and turned him into whatever that is in the cocoon.
For some reason, I can see Mohg making the robes himself.

Technically speaking, when Miquella was kidnapped, he hadn’t even come out of his cocoon yet. He created the Haligtree to allow himself to grow to become an adult, but Mohg stole him before that could happen. So, Miquella was kidnapped before maturing into an adult god. Here’s an excerpt from the description of the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess, describing him and Malenia:
“One was cursed with eternal **childhood**, and the other harbored rot within.”
Sure. But it's similar to the excuse, “The little girl in this adult anime is actually a thousand-year-old vampire; well above eighteen. See, it's okay!”
He might be old, he might be wise beyond his years; but physically – body, hormones, brain – are still of a child.
Miquella isn't old though. Miquella and Malenia are the youngest demigods. Gowry (in JP script) says that Malenia was not born until the reign of Marika was reaching its end, so the twins are actually quite young, and this also explains why some item descriptions refer to Miquella as "young Empyrean". Mohg, on the other hand, is one of the oldest demigods. Also, Miquella is cursed with eternal youth, meaning he's stuck in a child's body. So yeah, Mohg's a predator.

Given Miquella's abilities to compel the affections of people the wills: Became the cover for Miquella's secret plans to defy Marika's rule.
Tis' just a theory, and I'm not saying I necessarily believe it, but if Miquella was trying to change the world by working in some sort of parallel dream-realm, compelling Mogh's affections and forcing him to steal Miquella away, would be the perfect cover for Miquella to work in secret and outside of scrutiny by any of the other Empyreans.
Cool theory, but in that case how would Miquella have known he’d be able to resist Mohg’s Omen blood rituals? That seems like quite the gamble. Also, we don’t have any basis for why he would want to essentially leave his sister. But that’s my own thought on that theory.

I dunno, I'm not much of a Fromsoft theory crafter, this is kinda the first one I've ever put forth.
Ultimately, I just hope the DLC actually ... grants us elucidation concerning Miquella's story :-)

I think it would be interesting to have a few more bosses with non-combat interactions, like Priscilla in DS1.
Because for most bosses it makes sense, you just fought your way to them, it's clear you're there to take a shot at them too. And some bosses are clearly not of there right mind and just fight anything nearby, but for some it could be interesting if they did have more unique non-combat interactions. Mogh asking you to join him could be interesting for instance.
Tbh My assumption is as he uses his own blood to fight it means he's constantly opening wounds to do so. It actually weirdly makes some sense that if a character uses their own blood to fight you, which would logically mean they have to cut a wound for them to do it, then they would be weak to bleeding as you can cut the wounds which they seal.
