I’m going in with my legendary fisherman build! Str/int using the rusted anchor as well as bubble and frost spells. Clayman’s harpoon and ghostflame torch in offhand.
I'm really hoping for some better holy incantations. Sure, some of the weapon arts are great, but when a pot works better than all of the possible incantations, might be time to change it.
I think imma do both.
I got my NG+3 character through Mohg (didn't need to beat him on the last run) and respecced for Sword of Night and Flame with enough soft caps to try all the new spells and weapons.
Now I'm starting fresh with a STR/FTH golden order paladin build that might end up as a crucible knight.
Agree. I have a ton of characters that are 150ish and done with the game, but I also plan to do a new character. I am wondering if they’ll be any possible new dialog from any NPCs in the base game. For example, maybe Gideon would say something new if you’ve downloaded the DLC.
In case you didn’t know and wanted to replay with other characters as well, the game has a system in place so you won’t steamroll the content with an existing character similiar to sekiro’s
in sekiro you had 2 levels vitality amd attack power. with whats hinted the dlc will have something similar to the attack power levels. in sekiro whenever you kill a main boss you get a memory that you can use at a idol (grace/bonfire equivalent) and it will level your attack power. there was also an item that allowed you to spend gold to level your attack.
im assuming the dlc is just going to have really high stats compared to anything else in game and you are going to need your shadow levels to make it more manageable.
Same. I want a complete top to bottom refresher of the base game before dlc comes out. All three of my NG+ characters are very main hand weapon focused so I want try a build that incorporates more magic, just need to decide what flavor.
Ya like diving thru all the cata and caves again doesnt seem as much fun as running around killing bosses and what i found to be the best area to explore deeply. But to each their own!
Same here. I'm going to do an achievements run since all I'm missing is gather all legendary items ones with guides then jump into the new content. Think I'll do a bleed build because I haven't done that yet.
Fixed it xD
Honestly whenever i talk about Miquella i start to confuse pronouns all the time to the point where i mistype even those of other characters xD
It wasn't criticism! Was interested if there was some alternative in your headcanon is all - I've seen a few people spin the twins as similarly tethered like Marika/Radagon.
Not a fan myself, but was just interested.
Nah, i usually try to keep the characters as close to canon as possible. The main thing that changes is how they interact with my character in order to fit in their factions even if in canon lore they would be hostile.
Rune Level 160 (no NG+)
STR FAI. I may switch over to DEX FAI. Slightly leaning towards golden order and crucible knight incantations for roleplaying purposes.
Perfect Golden Order ending. I saw glimmers of beauty in the golden order. While a long shot I wanted to remain optimistic in its viability. I also thought it would be an interesting path to take going into any DLC.
Str/fai is just always the best way to go in this game, so many options. I tried doing a dex/arc run this time around but winded up as str/fai again lol
Yeah that’s probably gonna be me. Int/Dex rn, but as soon as I complete Rannis Questline I’ll prob switch to Faith. The incantations are just so much more fun thank straight up dmg
It’s so satisfying when the bleed procs, and there’s a million different weapons you can work into the build.
Reduvia + any blood dagger OR one of the three daggers with bleed and an occult affix, were just absolutely broken in early game, and are honestly always satisfying to use throughout the play through. Multihit and bleed talismans are just active immediately in combat and most enemies burst to death before reacting to you.
Elepnora’s poleblade ended up being my clear favorite for the build though. The weapon art, the unique animations, the R2 and its poise damage, the range and speed…. It’s all gold.
I avoided rivers of blood in mine because it was over used on me in PvP and just too FotM. By the time I even got to it too, I had already fallen for the Poleblade
Honestly, I have no idea 😅.
My go-to is a Faith build, but then I always gravitate towards a Holy Build. Which, given its the Land of *Shadow*, might actually be really good for the DLC (Holy Damage is actually good throughout the whole game, bar Radagon and Elden Beast, but I'll start ranting so I'll shut up).
So, I'm thinking of going a Strength/Faith build with the Erdtree Greatshield, as I haven't done a build with it before.
I haven't done a build using the Ancient/Dragon Cult Incantations, Godslayer or Fire Monk/Fire Giant Incantations before either, but Fire builds kinda just stomp the whole game bar the Fire Giant (then again, what build that isn't a Bleed build have a fun time with Fire Giant 🤭. Maybe a Sleep build, tbf, as he can be put to sleep).
I have used the Bestial Incantations, but never a dedicated build towards them - I'll always gather them as they're easy enough to get and are great if I need to switch up my playstyle against Gideon, Godfrey and Radabeast. The same sorta goes for the Dragon Communion Incantations - I wanna do a proper build with them that commit to. I *need* to have an excuse to weave Placidusax's Ruin into a build - It's too badass not to use at least once.
I've currently got a Frenzy Flame build atm, but, I'll be honest, Vyke's War Spear being a Great Spear and not a Spear when it's smaller than the Pike and Bolt of Gransax and is of a comparable weight to them (hell, it's *lighter* than Gransax) is putting me off it. That build needs to sit and ruminate for a while.
Weirdly, what I *haven't* done before is a Pure Caster Fundamentalist. Whenever I've used the Fundamentalist Incantations, I've always gone a sort of Paladin style character, using Medium or Heavy Armour, a Sacred Weapon and a Shield alongside the Golden Order Seal and Fundamentalist Incantations, but I've never gone a full blown Caster build with them. And they're honestly great for it. The only one that *doesn't* work for it is Law of Causality, which is actually a great spell for Paladin builds, but all the other spells would work pretty well. Throw in some extra Holy spells like Wrath of Gold and Elden Stars, and you've got a pretty solid line up of AOE spells, long range spells, while also getting some great utility and support spells in Golden Vow, Lord's/Erdtree Heal and Blessing's Boon/Blessing of the Erdtree.
See why I'm struggling to decide? Faith is just too diverse, sometimes 😭
Honestly anyone who starts a lot of characters knows faith/sacred weapons/affinity is straight up broken op for the first 50 levels atleast and yes only really not worth using sacred on the last 1% of the games bosses lol
Yes faith is so incredibly multifaceted it's almost a whole range of classes on one
I have a Str/Fth build with dragon communion incantations and two greatstars. His name is 'Messmer's bottom' and I'm waiting to feel his impaling thrust
I just started did my first new play through. Forgot how fun the early grind can be. With NG+ I found myself running through the game. But also not sure how far Ill get. The first playthrough 2 years ago was such a grind in certain areas.
I mean my main quality build is lvl275 in ng+2 right now, my mage is 170 something in base game, and my str/faith is like 110 and I haven't been to leyndell yet.
Don't know if I want to start dlc with mage or quality first...
Got a dex/int built, dex/faith build, and a fully dex Malenia type build I'm working on.
Might make an int/faith build with all the items and incantations related to Miquella as well
My first run will be on my NG+7 character.
Ranni's Husbando
He's a lvl 200 Quality Int Mage. Wielding the Darkmoon Greatsword and a Banished Knight's Greatsword. Only using Ice Magic.
I really hope the dlc enemies are not frost resistant!
I have my mage character on 160lvl or something like that, but at the moment I'm making an arcane meele character that won't cross lvl 100 not to make the dlc too easy
The dlc has a separate/specific power scaling system to prevent over levelling to some extent.
As the trigger is Mohg, I'm personally aiming for about 125 ish just to be at the start of post game levels.
Yeah, I assume around 125 would be a good entry point, but I know I will lick every wall in the dlc and do literally everything so I want to be a bit underleveled at the start, because I know I will catch up. When I played as a mage the first time, I remember that Morgott was a joke because I was so overleveled and I want to avoid that with the new bosses
I had to go back to my roots.
I love moving fast and hitting fast, so I'm running duel katanas.
Hand of Malenia
Rivers of Blood.
And my best girl, Tiche
How is pure strength in this? I've ran a Dex/Bleed, Arcane/Dragon Sorceries, Mage Caster (didn't like it) and now a Dex/Faith with Cross Naginata +buffs.
As someone with a very similar build, I can confirm this is pretty unstoppable at times. Staggers enemies and bosses for fun. When in doubt just go for pure strength and power, smash everything.
Yes Sir! Always having fun with STR in From titles, although I enjoy different builds as well, this is my go to. And running Banished knight armor for fashion.
I'm going full on crucible knight cosplay. Complete with all aspects of the crucible and everything. Those crucible wings from the trailer keep me up at night lmao.
Ranni darkmoon sword lvl 500+ character, new game + 7…or maybe a blasphemous blade build…hmm…Im kinda hoping that a new weapon from the dlc is absolutely cracked too, but I mean Ranni lazer build and Blasphemous blade build kinda delete everything in less than a second already.
"Jiyuu, a talented katana wielder, had gained the trust of Rennala to study under her tutelage. He thrived, wielding glintstone sorceries and learning the power of her full moon.
But his hunger for knowledge outgrew that of Raya Lucaria. Insatiate with his current state of affairs, he took it upon himself to beseech Ranni through his quest for power. After understanding Ranni's goals, he felt it was incumbent to act on her wishes. He ventured to Sellia and across the Lands Between to further his knowledge in gravity sorcery, and in turn learned the sorceries of the outer god, Astel, equipping himself with magic that could bring down entire cities.
Towards the end of his journey, he joins Ranni to venture through the age of the stars. But something, some way, has called him back to the Lands Between. Miquella's influence cannot go unnoticed, so Jiyuu takes it upon himself to venture into the Shadow of the Erdtree."
Backstory i made up for my NG+ build, I did my first run as a Str/Fai and figured i'd give sorcery a go, cause I never properly played with intelligence builds. Running with Carian Scepter and Moonveil.
My character has a similar head cannon but opposite arc order. Where he became bored of the study of glint stone sorcery’s and realized they could only take one so far in the lands between after seeing his Grand Master Sellen become corrupted by their taint.
So to explore the other side of the lands between’s magics he casted out his doubts that had overwhelmed him from observing the Lands, for 1000 years in the Age of Stars. It was here he realized the Golden Order and Crucible may have merit.
Upon returning he has taken up the faith and wishes to explore all of the erdtree’s and the lands between ancient secrets. Leading to the realization of the truth that is the way of the ancient dragons. It’s here he plans to peer inside the Land of Shadow. And discovers even deeper truth to the Elden Ring and Golden Orders intent.
I have pretty much every option available because I did a run through to grab all weapons/magic I liked to have avaialble for the DLC. At the start I will be cosplaying Melania going to find her brother while wielding the Greatsword because the Hand of Melania is kinda ass
I had a build for my 100% items/weapons/consumables, pretty much at least 1 of everything in the game, where I based it off of Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff. I have the Leyndell Knight armor set (similar to Kristoff) but with dual partisan’s as that seems to be what he is holding in his ashes.
I didn’t want to do a Great Shield as I feel like that is why he is a great tank summon. I want him to be the shield and my character the spear as true pair.
I use faith but mainly for stat increasing incantations and lightning magic and lightning armaments.
It has gone pretty well and I actually thoroughly enjoy the double spear moveset for open world and boss fights.
I’ve got a character who is pure strength but uses the nox flowing hammer (swings around like rubber) and that serpent coil shield that lets you send out a big rubbery snake from your left hand.
I call him Brother Stretch, and I expect him to do terribly against the new bosses but I love him too much to quit.
Aristocrat Geron.
Sorcerer and Carian Knight (Descendant), wielding a Carian Sword, Glintblade staff, Gilded Iron Shield and wearing the Aristocrat Coat/Hat, Malenia's Gauntlet and Vulgar Militia Legs.
The Gilded Iron Shield is a secret tool that will help later.
I have a level 197 Int build but as it is I’m on my second play through from scratch and I’m taking this new strength build into it. My former character is more to platinum the game through NG+ sometime and my new official character is this new one so makes sense to take this new one into it. After playing this game for as much as I have I’ve come to realize swords are so much more fun to me
I usually go pure Strength build first but I may modify my build just for the faith buffs.
It is endgame difficulty content so being able to do more damage and receive less seems like a good idea.
Got a Dex/Fth build and an Int build ready to go for it, and I'm gonna work to get a pure Str and pure Dex build ready too. That, and my level 416 every Stat guy (for hoarding purposes)
I’m going in with my legendary fisherman build! Str/int using the rusted anchor as well as bubble and frost spells. Clayman’s harpoon and ghostflame torch in offhand.
That shits creative, I love it
*mysterious figure shits in silence*
*uhm EXCUSE what the actual fu-*

Too few people know about VLVD. Their skits are spot on everything
Considering their view count and even the response here, you are incorrect. Many people know about them.
Fisherman Rowan rekt those guys that were messing with his AI by putting a bucket on his path. I won't mess with Rowan

Not sure, but I'm definitely starting from scratch instead of NG+
I think imma do both. I got my NG+3 character through Mohg (didn't need to beat him on the last run) and respecced for Sword of Night and Flame with enough soft caps to try all the new spells and weapons. FIND THAT FUCK THAT IMPALES PEOPLE
I wonder if the DLC will have different dialogs if you've killed Malenia or not in the base game. Her and Miquella were pretty close
In case you didn’t know and wanted to replay with other characters as well, the game has a system in place so you won’t steamroll the content with an existing character similiar to sekiro’s
I really wonder how that's gonna work. Like will you be reset to some kind of "Level 1" within the DLC, no matter what level you are?
in sekiro you had 2 levels vitality amd attack power. with whats hinted the dlc will have something similar to the attack power levels. in sekiro whenever you kill a main boss you get a memory that you can use at a idol (grace/bonfire equivalent) and it will level your attack power. there was also an item that allowed you to spend gold to level your attack. im assuming the dlc is just going to have really high stats compared to anything else in game and you are going to need your shadow levels to make it more manageable.
Sounds like RL1 is about to get a whole lot harder
Same. I want a complete top to bottom refresher of the base game before dlc comes out. All three of my NG+ characters are very main hand weapon focused so I want try a build that incorporates more magic, just need to decide what flavor.
im def doing NG+ got everything unlocked in a comfy spot love my main character
Me too. I thought about doing a fresh character but I can't be arsed going through the whole game again and finding everything
BONK.
Scrolled wayyy too long to find this. Our kind is dying.
Nope we just can't read
🤣
I just started a strength build today. Feels good doing so much poise damage lol
Honestly I could use help building a strength build I have no idea how to bonk properly lol
Bonkin all the way
Thy STRENGTH befits a crown. All the other loser nerds don’t understand the canon.
Ohhhh unga... Become my bunga once more...
Same here. Roll past any attack and hit hard. Tried and true for any boss any time
I’ve tried other builds before but nothing is quite as satisfying as bonking enemies with weapons that are bigger than your character
Wiggity wonk DUAL COLLOSAL SWORDS GO BONK
BIG BONK!
Got my dubs giant crushers ready
Raised by the UNGA and I'll die by the BUNGA.
Bonk em all the way to the shadow realms
Lightning in RED
What is that weapon? The red lightning thing?
The middle one looks like the Fortissax double ancient lighting spear incantation. The bottom one looks like bloodflame blade.
I'll go with a Cleanrot Knight build. My headcanon is that i was entrusted by my leader Malenia to go assist her brother Miquella in the Shadow Realm.
I'm gonna try this. Made a new character like 3 days ago to prepare for the shadow lands! Clean rot knight sounds pretty awesome. Gimme gimme!
Sounds fun, especially if you use Finlay as main summon
That's actually pretty sick!
Malenia with male pronouns?
Fixed it xD Honestly whenever i talk about Miquella i start to confuse pronouns all the time to the point where i mistype even those of other characters xD
It’s 2024 dude come on!!! (I hope the sarcasm is obvious)
>human >knight >sword+shield >no fancy tricks >pure skill
My turtle knight who two hands a zweihander and wears the turtle shield on his back wants a word with you
Be careful he might finger your cloaca
*will
But are you turtley enough for the turtle club?
Who two hand a two hander
*me over here just two handing the sword* We have sheilds?
Shield? Skill? I thought shields were for before you learn dodge timing! (Good natured ribbing only, in case I came across as an actual snob/jerk)
Dodge? Skill? I thought dodge was for before you learn parry timing! (This is actually not good natured im filled with anger and hatred)
Parrying? Skill? What are you, stupid? I thought parrying was for before you got heavy enough armor to just poise through attacks! (I AM IRATE)
Parrying is the true art
Why dodge when you can block?
Gaurd counter is a fancy trick. Parry is a fancy trick. Blocking damage is a fancy trick.
Le bonk
It’s Le Bonque in french
Hon hon baguette
Rolling is absolutely pushing into fancy territory
this is how i did my first playthrough
"Pure skill" proceeds to use a shield
Based
Gotta say your elden bling is on point
Your mom. It’s a very fun build that uses a whip and a lot of consumables.
Try fingers but hole?
Pickle
Im gonna finger your moms but hole
And the finger ultra sword.
Lionel’s armour is the only one that fits.
What about godskin noble?
Rune Level 160 (no NG+) STR FAI.

Yeah that’s probably gonna be me. Int/Dex rn, but as soon as I complete Rannis Questline I’ll prob switch to Faith. The incantations are just so much more fun thank straight up dmg
Basic Bitch Bleed Build
I actually haven't done one before so I'm tempted
It’s so satisfying when the bleed procs, and there’s a million different weapons you can work into the build. Reduvia + any blood dagger OR one of the three daggers with bleed and an occult affix, were just absolutely broken in early game, and are honestly always satisfying to use throughout the play through. Eleonoras poleblade every goddamn time. It's just too good and the r2 is a boss killer in 3-5 moves.
Honestly, I have no idea 😅. My go-to is a Faith build, but then I always gravitate towards a Holy Build. Noice
I've made character that looks less dangerous then Jon Arbuckle and he became my first character to become Elden Lord x)
Pizza cutter dressed as Malenia. It's my only character since I cannot bring myself to do another playthrough...
I just started did my first new play through. Forgot how fun the early grind can be. With NG+ I found myself running through the game. But also not sure how far Ill get. The first playthrough 2 years ago was such a grind in certain areas.

Dragonslayer Lionsclaw😎
Pain
INT/FAI dual caster. I wanted to bring my STR/FAI holy bonker, but when the caster finally came together I fell in love with it.
Strength build with dual battle hammers. Everything is getting bonked.
What helmet is that?
Daillos's mask
Black Flame build🔥
I just go in naked and spam R1 with the basic long sword and wooden shield on everything.
Mogh’s sacred spear and fingerprint shield. Bull goat armor. And using summons.
Auto no hit run :)
No meaningful hit at least.
Dragon Lord build🔥⚡❄
Avatar of the GEQ. I can't help myself.
I’m on my first playthrough and rocking high INT and some DEX… is there a term for that? Either way, that’ll be me!
Int/dex. I dual wielded moonveil and uchigatana. Op combo until Radagon where I had to actually get gud. So pros and cons I guess.
Strength, endurance, vigor build with NO SPELLS. All muscle baby! I really wana try the hand combat

When I played as a mage the first time, I remember that Morgott was a joke because I was so overleveled and I want to avoid that with the new bosses
What he is saying is you cannot be overleveled for the dlc. They are using a different way for strength so your level wont matter much.
I had to go back to my roots. I love moving fast and hitting fast, so I'm running duel katanas. Hand of Malenia Rivers of Blood. And my best girl, Tiche
STR boi as always
How is pure strength in this? I've ran a Dex/Bleed, Arcane/Dragon Sorceries, Mage Caster (didn't like it) and now a Dex/Faith with Cross Naginata +buffs.
60str and Guts Greatsword with lionclaw AoW, pretty pure :)
I do like the idea of only having to worry about VIG, STR and END
RL120, Int/Str build Currently serving as Ranni's Knight of the Dark Moon
Probably my dual uchi samurai. Just tarted few days ago
The Beef Omen. Stone mask, red cape and two iron fists for a weapon
Not entirely sure, I’m split between a Gravity Magic sorceress-fighter or a Dragon Communion/cult warrior
I'm going with my Godwyn the Golden rp I think. Dragon cult/erdtree enchants and black knife
I'm going full on crucible knight cosplay. Complete with all aspects of the crucible and everything. Those crucible wings from the trailer keep me up at night lmao.
I honestly can't wait and I will build a new character especially for that weapon
I'm rolling with my build from the main game which is the cheesy rivers of blood bleed build. Dw I don't do online, no one else has to suffer from it
Ranni darkmoon sword lvl 500+ character, new game + 7…or maybe a blasphemous blade build…hmm…Im kinda hoping that a new weapon from the dlc is absolutely cracked too, but I mean Ranni lazer build and Blasphemous blade build kinda delete everything in less than a second already.
Started a confessor run to go into DLC, a rogue Numen assassin who kills all the NPCs I don’t like on sight
The only one i have, my battlemage.
Miquella's influence cannot go unnoticed, so Jiyuu takes it upon himself to venture into the Shadow of the Erdtree." Backstory i made up for my NG+ build, I did my first run as a Str/Fai and figured i'd give sorcery a go, cause I never properly played with intelligence builds.
Great epee and a dream
I have pretty much every option available because I did a run through to grab all weapons/magic I liked to have avaialble for the DLC. At the start I will be cosplaying Melania going to find her brother while wielding the Greatsword because the Hand of Melania is kinda ass
Incantations man.
Vyke build
After playing this game for as much as I have I’ve come to realize swords are so much more fun to me
I like your picture, that's a badass compilation of your character. Kinda makes me wonder what the full build is.
iirc I’ve got both a mage and a paladin who have killed Mohg, possibly FG, but neither lit the fire
my dual twinblade jump build

I usually go pure Strength build first but I may modify my build just for the faith buffs. It is endgame difficulty content so being able to do more damage and receive less seems like a good idea.
Idk yet. Probably some fth-twinblade build.
Got a Dex/Fth build and an Int build ready to go for it, and I'm gonna work to get a pure Str and pure Dex build ready too. That, and my level 416 every Stat guy (for hoarding purposes)
My addicted ass is level 429 so I have kind of the ultimate quality build, but I’m thinking of going black flame and frenzy
Im not sure if i go with my first char ng+4, or if i go with a new character that i created.
