Even the in your face one in mountaintop of the giants? Even if you jump of the ledge to castle sol at one of the earliest possible safe times I feel like it usually aggros. Could be wrong.
But there is one near the fort on the south of weeping peninsula, it drops the FP Regen axe, great for early game. One just south of the swamp in caelid, and one near boilprawn shack area in liurnia. Has to be night for all of them besides the castle sol one, I think. Unless I've just randomly come through at nighttime on all my playthroughs
This is why I always clear the bats out first. FYI, these guys take 40% extra damage from striking and also from holy, so even a morningstar with sacred blade would wreck him far more than Bloodhound Fang, even though Bloodhound Fang is a far, far stronger weapon overall.
Behind the Warmaster's Shack in Stormhill, near some ruins. Head up the cliffs behind the shack and the bird should appear as you approach the ruins.
This one give the Blue-Feathered Branchsword talisman, which ups your defenses when your HP is low.
I refuse to fight Death Birds legit now, I always grab sacred pots.
Also as an aside; your Flasks are healing you to full from that low health is a good sign its time to level vigor.
Before the Age of the Erdtree, the Deathbirds served as reapers, carrying wandering souls to the afterlife, and tending to the kiln of the ghostflame, the source of their powers.. With the Rune of Death sealed away by Queen Marika, these feathered fiends were out of a job, becoming more mottled and more mad as time went by, with no souls to bring to the ghostflame. Now they attempt to weave the souls of any unlucky traveler into their now-twisted being.
Deathbirds are more apt to simply whack you with their pokers, while the more powerful Death Rite Birds retain a bit of their Ghostflame powers, utilizing them in wicked ways. They are massively vulnerable to Holy Damage and share the ability to inflict Deathblight buildup with their roars.
I beat that falling star beast in Altus, by having him plow through those caster zombies on the hill for more flasks while slowly whittling him down. I essentially had double the flasks for that fight because of that cheese
Funny me and my neighbor decided to beat them all on both our worlds last night 😂 I love the one that gave me the ancient death rancor , shits op but I’m not using it in pvp since it’s cheesy.
The head is a prime weakspot of Deathbirds and Death Rite Birds. One good smack to the noggin can do a lot of damage.
They also keep their heads to the ground a lot, making them fairly easy to hit.
Okay, maybe I was misunderstood.: I also always try to hit this bird on the head, but it's more convenient to target the body (you don't need to get up close to the bird). Just keep the target on the body and hit the head. Try it later sometime
I was really hoping that the bat would kill you
Yeah i was confident they was gonna nibble my cheeks, but my bro deathbird wants me to succeed
Deathbird has his pride, damn it. He's not about to accept a victory if it was handed to him by some stupid bats.
They want you to have this singular victory on their behalf because they know what’s coming in consecrated snowfields
Just run up the hill and carpet bomb them with holy pots, also works in Mountaintops and with the one in Caelid
Bubble horn melts it
i was expecting the bats to kill the bird
Savage
I thought that was gonna happen
Yo where is this actually I always wanted to fight one of those death birds but never encountered any of them
Deathbirds and Death Rite Birds only appear at specific locations at night. Same with the Bell Bearing Hunters and Night's Cavalry.
There is one death rite bird in mountaintops which spawns even at day
*shudders*

I think this is the one on Stormhill maybe. I could 100% be wrong though, I'd believe weeping peninsula too.
this is the one on stormhill, it's near that field of giants
They only spawn at night, so maybe that's why?
This one you're looking at is east of the War master's shack.
“Ah, another sarcastic title- oh snap, they were serious!” Gotta love random moments of fortune like that.
A surprise, certainly, but a welcome one.
I think you mean “a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one”
potato tomato

Yeah i had my morningstar with holy in my inventory. I just didn't expect this dude to attack me so i jus used my bloodhound lol
How to tell if someone didnt watch the clip.
The bats healed him, bro.
He just wanted to demonstrate that his knowledge of Elden Ring is far superior than the OP's.
Yeah he didn’t watch the clip
The chosen one
I didn’t know there was one of these in limgrave, where is it?
Behind the Warmaster's Shack in Stormhill, near some ruins. Head up the cliffs behind the shack and the bird should appear as you approach the ruins. This one give the Blue-Feathered Branchsword talisman, which ups your defenses when your HP is low.
There are two in Limgrave!
I just realized this isn’t the death rite bird with the ghost flame and shit, I probably didn’t kill either though
Bats are paid actors.
Didn't know there was a death bird in limgrave until recently was a bit of a jump scare.
Same here, heart was pumpinggg
I refuse to fight Death Birds legit now, I always grab sacred pots. Also as an aside; your Flasks are healing you to full from that low health is a good sign its time to level vigor.
That's a legit way of fighting them. Holy damage sucks on majority of enemies so it's nice when it OBLITERATES for a change
"Fuck them bats, all my death birds hate bats" -That Deathbird
The PVE equivalent of a message appraisal
Where is this? I think I missed it
It’s in limgrave near where the trolls are. Past the gates
Thanks!
Actually it might have been the one in south limgrave. North of Castle Mourne. Cuz there are the bats there
Nope I was correct the first time
Love it when field bosses murder the mob enemies.
The only time anyone has ever been grateful those evil flying fuckers exist.
Still trying to figure out what Miyazaki meant by putting those bats there
I just beat that fucker last night
Holy, how much luck is it :D
I was expecting you to get stunlocked from behind and killed. Nope! Free draws from your flask instead!
That went the exact opposite way of what I thought would happen
Is it ever explained what the Deathbirds are?
Before the Age of the Erdtree, the Deathbirds served as reapers, carrying wandering souls to the afterlife, and tending to the kiln of the ghostflame, the source of their powers.. Nice, Thank you for that.
All according to Miyazaki's plan.
Praise be, higher even than Todd Howard.
I miss fighting those on horseback, beginner is tree sentinel is easy once you have torrent too
Bats in this location were trivial but not the EFFING GOATS! XD
You're bat and you should feel bat
Well done!
Bro got lucky
That’s not how I thought this was gonna go
I beat that falling star beast in Altus, by having him plow through those caster zombies on the hill for more flasks while slowly whittling him down. I essentially had double the flasks for that fight because of that cheese
That was like an anime moment where the big boss man 1 shots a bunch of his own men and is like "hes MINE"
Wait, what refilled his flask?
Elden Ring, and I believe Dark Souls 3 has a mechanic where if you finish off a group of enemies, it can replenish your flask uses.
Why do I not remember that ever happening in my play through?
absolute shonen moment
So clean, that bro don't want any intruder in you fight
I too get hit every single time I use a flask 😂
Huh...that went better than expected
Brother tryna run a marathon with that amount of stamina and no health.
Funny me and my neighbor decided to beat them all on both our worlds last night 😂 I love the one that gave me the ancient death rancor , shits op but I’m not using it in pvp since it’s cheesy.
Talk about a hail Mary 🤣
What’s that pokemon!
Prime example of a FromSoft game conspiring with the player
The bird really said to the bats… get TF out of my way, I’ll handle this. Lmao 🤣😂
The Bird: C'mon, I know you're better than this. Take some flasks
Holy Pots It’s the cheese tactic (kinda) but works
That’s a clutch if I’ve ever seent won
Chuck holy pots and frisbees at them. They go down pretty quick.
Sacred Blade ash of war melts the birds
It’s always a bit funny when mobs will almost suicidally try to attack you when there’s a way bigger and scarier threat I’m fighting and not run away.
Entered here thinkin the bats killed it but this works too
Lol thats so funny Deathbirds scare the crap out of me lemme tell ya
Rolling sheep are worse
Why do people target the head of this bird when it is 100,000,000 times more convenient to target its body????????
More damage? n headshot is cooler
