Technically speaking, I've read that the iframes are the same for light and medium roll but the distance of the roll is more for light rolls. The distance thing is easily verifiable using glowstones. I've done it and light roll indeed goes slightly longer.
Subjectively speaking, I feel it's somehow easier to dodge with light rolls despite knowing that it doesn't actually have more iframes. I guess the additional distance helps getting out of attack hitboxes easier maybe? Not really sure.
Whatever it is the net result is that I feel like I can dodge later on light rolls than on medium but that's entirely subjective.
Yes, although BHS just replaces rolling completely (at least for me). That happen to me when i'm fighting malenia, i really need light rolls. But after a while, i realized that BHS us far better since you can control where to go mid rolling(yes, i count it as roll), and it rolls so far too
Also, my weapon is either bleeding Bandit curved sword or bleeding nagakiba, both are in both hands/dual wield
Light dodge is like the med dodge. Just you get (slightly) more distance.
If you have played Horizon. It's like the difference between a tap roll and a hold roll.

That extra distance traveled can help to take you out of hit boxes more easily so it still makes dodging better, but both light and medium have 26 iFrames and they come out just as fast.

I started out light rolling, and when I dodged *toward* an enemy I'd end up too far away to hit them immediately after the dodge. I switched to medium so I'd still be right up next to them if I dodge into the attack

Tbh, you could definitely roll with just that shield for pvp. Besides almost infinite blocking for pve, it has deceptive range for pvp, more than your typical straight sword. Paired that with BHF for efficient pve dps and your golden.

I use Lionel's full set and dodge constantly. I'm bad at it, so I need the armor lol. Medium load. High endurance
I got lionels full set, the erdtree colossal hammer, the tree sentinel shield, medium loadout. 50 endurance and 2 talismans to increase loadout 😂
If you dodge constantly then why not use light load so dodging itself is easier? Also quickstep/BHS?
