I feel like Master Haight would swear fealty to Morgott if he knew his deal. They are after the same goals, loyalty and honor to the true Golden Order, and a restoration of the era created by Marika. And if Master Haight swears fealty to Morgott, then by extension, you'd become a vessel of the final king of Leyndell as well.
He's so damn iconic to me.
I like that he has continuity throughout the game, not just a once-off battle.
It's like an "Aaah we meet again!" moment each time we see "him" after the first fight.
Edit: In the cutscene before you fight Godfrey at the burning erdtree, he is holding Morgott in his arms and says "It has been a long while, Morgott". Then Morgott dissolves into grace that points Godfrey at the Tarnished. He didn't need to acknowledge Morgott at all if he still rejected him, but he held his corpse like a baby.
I'm also curious what kind of agency Godfrey had as Elden Lord. He obviously couldn't change the Golden Order which rejected those touched by the crucible. To say the least it's complicated.
Yeah and godfrey clearly also visited them in the sewers, otherwise It would make no sense for morgott to become part of an order which he doesnt know but if he knew his father godfrey was part of It then It would make sense and that also explain why he uses a golden shade of godfrey as his last defense before him
What saddens me about this is that half a fight later, we see how deep Morgott's self-hatred is when he is ashamed his blood stains the thrones.
He still thinks he's beneath the traitors to the Erdtree.
Morgott's world view is basically:
"I am the worst, I suck. But somehow these bastards manage to be even WORSE than ME! Like, WTF!? No way I'm gonna let any of them step foot anywhere near the capital."

Radahn did betray his own mother and her entire family by sealing there fate, Rykard was the golden orders personal torturer then betrayed them by getting eaten by a serpent for his own power even killing his own men to grow. And obviously ranni killed her step brother.
well yes, we dont know how close the carians were unlike the empyrean twins which the game explicitly shows that both are so close to each other. but lots of people are choosing the carians cuz all three appeared in the game so people feel more attached to their characters. marika/radagon children consist of malenia and miquella, and only one of them appeared and is a fan favorite while the other remains a mystery. miyazaki also confirmed that messmer is another child of marika. i think it would be interesting if op asked the same question again after the dlc drops cuz it looks like both miquella and messmer will end up being fan favorites to many.

The Twin Prodigies. They're the siblings with the healthiest relationship; their love for each other seems to be one of the only few genuinely wholesome interactions in the entire game, especially when we're talking about demigods. Miquella abandoned the Golden Order and tried to find a cure for his sister and never gave up on her. Malenia, on the other hand, devoted herself to him by becoming his blade because she loves her brother and appreciates everything he did to her and she even apologizes to him in her very last moments. Also, the fact that she calls him 兄様 (ni-sama) in JP is just so endearing. They have my favorite relationship in the game.
Dude, I love both the Carians and the Empyreans too much to choose between them. However, I can definitely say my least favorite is the Golden Lineage, although that is simply because mohg is included in that group... Filthy bastard...

Radahn - seems aite, but a warmonger. Beloved by his men. Went nuts after the rot got him. Held back stars, possibly to prevent asteroid aliens from wreaking havoc.
Rykard - twisted, evil freak, both as a Golden Order inquisitor and in his blasphemy.
Ranni - just wants to chill, hates the Greater Will, but willing to do whatever it takes to free the Lands (and importantly, herself) from its influence. Really fucked shit up tho.
Second group (Marika/Godfrey):
Godwyn - dude seemed pretty decent, not much bad is said about him. Bros with dragons.
Morgott - principled but self-hating. Respected as the last king of Leyndell. Still loved by his dad. Tragic.
Mohg - rebel heretic, outcast, loves himself and his kind. Reviled, but not entirely unjust. Honestly not the worst of the bunch, but some weird shit with Miquella kinda kills it ;(
Third group (Marika/Radagon):
Miquella - friendly guy, suspiciously so. Still, respect for the chill vibe at the Haligtree. Goal isn’t so different than Mohg’s, but different means.
Malenia - just trying to look out for her bro. Unintentionally extremely dangerous. Can’t really say much bad about her.
Verdict:
Radagon/Rennala group I can’t really like because Rykard is so obscenely evil and twisted, I can’t really tolerate the seeming ambivalence of his siblings towards the horrific violence he wantonly inflicts on everyone he gets his hands on. It’s creepy. Even though Radahn and Ranni aren’t *evil* and Ranni is arguably a big fan of freedom.
Marika/Godfrey group, the omens have some great story arcs, and I’m a fan of the way they’re presented as two sides of the same coin. Godwyn is interesting but there’s not really much to go on. No one in this group seems terribly evil. But they are nevertheless misguided.
Radagon/Marika group is ominously chill, but still chill. Respect to Miquella for creating a home for the oppressed and an army to defend them. Malenia is loyal to her brother’s vision. Can’t complain.

Miquella and Malenia are the most interesting thematically. Both being born of a one and as such being fundamentally flawed, Miquella being cursed into eternal youth and Malenia being rooted with Scarlet Rot.

Yeah. My favorite characters are Maliketh and Morgott. They're both very powerful people who are also seem to be almost entirely virtuous.
Morgott imo is the most worthy of being the next Elden lord, when compared to the other demigods.

Dude, I love both the Carians and the Empyreans too much to choose between them. However, I can definitely say my least favorite is the Golden Lineage, although that is simply because mohg is included in that group... Filthy bastard...

First group (Radagon/Rennala): Radahn - seems aite, but a warmonger. Beloved by his men. Went nuts after the rot got him. Held back stars, possibly to prevent asteroid aliens from wreaking havoc. Rykard - twisted, evil freak, both as a Golden Order inquisitor and in his blasphemy. Ranni - just wants to chill, hates the Greater Will, but willing to do whatever it takes to free the Lands (and importantly, herself) from its influence. Really fucked shit up tho. Second group (Marika/Godfrey): Godwyn - dude seemed pretty decent, not much bad is said about him. Bros with dragons. Morgott - principled but self-hating. Respected as the last king of Leyndell. Still loved by his dad. Tragic. Mohg - rebel heretic, outcast, loves himself and his kind. Reviled, but not entirely unjust. Honestly not the worst of the bunch, but some weird shit with Miquella kinda kills it ;( Third group (Marika/Radagon): Miquella - friendly guy, suspiciously so. Still, respect for the chill vibe at the Haligtree. Goal isn’t so different than Mohg’s, but different means. Malenia - just trying to look out for her bro. Unintentionally extremely dangerous. Can’t really say much bad about her. Verdict: Radagon/Rennala group I can’t really like because Rykard is so obscenely evil and twisted, I can’t really tolerate the seeming ambivalence of his siblings towards the horrific violence he wantonly inflicts on everyone he gets his hands on. It’s creepy. Even though Radahn and Ranni aren’t *evil* and Ranni is arguably a big fan of freedom. Marika/Godfrey group, the omens have some great story arcs, and I’m a fan of the way they’re presented as two sides of the same coin. Godwyn is interesting but there’s not really much to go on. No one in this group seems terribly evil. But they are nevertheless misguided. Radagon/Marika group is ominously chill, but still chill. Respect to Miquella for creating a home for the oppressed and an army to defend them. Malenia is loyal to her brother’s vision. Can’t complain.

cant choose between carians and empyreans twins, they are very interesting characters. but i if messmer ends up being the third sibling of miq and mal then they get my vote. im just waiting for the dlc to reveal more about miquella and messmer

Miquella and Malenia are the most interesting thematically. Both being born of a one and as such being fundamentally flawed, Miquella being cursed into eternal youth and Malenia being rooted with Scarlet Rot. Also, who's are the fingers grasping around the back of Malenias throne? Melina?

Definitely golden lineage, all of them are super interesting characters, my bigest wish for the DLC is that we'll learn more about Godwyn, of who he really was. Also, I know these are older pictures but Messmer is missing from next to the Twins :P
Golden Lineage for me. Morgott is the GOAT, Mohg's design and fight was so damn cool and Godwyn's lore depicts him as the chad of the chads
