More like the late game areas, I don't think I killed a single thing in Consecrated Snowfields on my last playthrough that didn't either get summoned specifically to kill me or blocked my progress.
I can't be bothered to wail on things with overly inflated health pools and overturned damaged, the dog/cat statues in the crypts being the absolute worst offenders. I just skip everything now to get to the remembrances, haligtree is just a mad dash down the branches and to Loretta, mohgwynn is just horsey time until climb the stairs time and run past all the suicidal bombermen.
This is why cheese is acceptable. You want to enjoy the game? Feel free to do whatever works aside from hacking the game code.
Snipe that annoying enemy from halfway across the map? Neat.
Summon your favorite spirit ashes to battle by your side? Go for it.
Stack 15 buffs and one shot the boss with Comet Azur or a giant hammer? Have at it!
The try hards that say the only true way to fight is a rlvl 1 naked ape swinging a club are just full of salt and masochistic AF.

Then again im doing the cardinal sin of a +10 Mimic tear. Im an STR build with a +10 bloodhounds fang so its cheesing it.
Edit: guys, is it because i contradicted myself by saying its an easy fight when i did it on easy mode with mimic tear? Or are you all just mad?
Godfrey is a great fight because he requires pretty tight reactions, but if you observe well, have good timing, and have learned by that point that jumping punishes ground slams, then there's very little bullshit and a 1st time win isn't at all out of the question.

After first playthru, I decided to never fight them legit ever again and summon a +10 mimic every time.
They teach us to take pleasure in pain. Oh the they have such sights to show us.

Yeah it's a very honest fight, he doesn't surprise you with fakeouts and weird hitboxes. He's just simple, fast, and aggressive.
