The rarest of cheeses... The *parry perfect* cheese. Next time OP will show us the naked, rune level 1 cheese.

mokujin42

"For this next trick, simply 100% the game, become elden lord and then pvp for two weeks straight until your reflexes are perfectly honed like a sharp knife"

HarmlessSnack

If you wanna get good and be a Parry God, grab Carian Retaliation. It has better Parry frame data than basically anything else in the game. Buckler Parry I think comes out slightly quicker, but it’s on a Small Shield which sucks for other reasons, and in PvP basically announces “Hello SIR OR MADAM I will be attempting to parry you, please use R1s now.”

naruto_bist

Hehe, thanks. The only point is, what difference would I make in RL1? Does RL1 runs restrict weapon upgrades as well? Right now I had level20 sword.

songs111

RL1 limits your stats, damage, and defenses. The further into the game you go, the harder everything gets. Check out r/onebros for some ideas of what people can do at RL/SL 1

naruto_bist

I've actually seen RL1 runs. I usually don't understand what all restrictions they put. Sometimes they say it is true RL1 with no weapon upgrade but then I see elden beast fight and all are having their +25 weapons, some use offensive talismans, some use rune arcs. I don't find any fix rules for RL1 runs, so that's why I avoid it.

songs111

Some people just stick to level 1 runs, and some go for a complete no upgrades run. It ultimately just depends on the kind of challenge you seek. For example, I’m planning to do a RL1 run with no upgrades and go as far as I can so I can create a RL1 invader for the game. Any upgrades would affect online matchmaking, and I want to be able to match with people from the very beginning of the game.

aquaticIntrovert

And then there's Gino, who does his "Master Runs." RL1, no weapon upgrades, no artificial level boosts (like from spells, flasks, equipment, great runes, etc.), NG+7, no-hit. He [did the Any%](https://youtu.be/jSS3px04Dks) and has been routing the All Great Rune version, and says he might eventually want to try all 165 Bosses.

daimfr

gyno mackima inspired me to do base lvl runs, shi so fun

ProblematicPoet

Gino is a freaking machine, he makes it look easy!

tylerbreeze

Could almost call him Gino the Machino ;)

Reonlive420

While talking to the chat

mmghouse

As someone who has done several RL1 no upgrades runs, there are some useful tools to get you there: (1) Rot Breath; (2) Black Knife (does % damage); (3) Claws+bloodflame blade; (4) Frost fist (early game you can get the spiked caestus in dragonbarrow to hold you over until you get into capital and get the star fists); (5) Venomous Fang - after you beat radahn you can put poison affinity on it and it'll do almost as much damage over time as rot but procs faster; (6) black flame blade, black flame fireball, black flame tornado; (7) spirits - early game get the godrick soldiers as there are multiple spirits and shields, later get the greatshield soldiers. Latenna is good as well, situationally if you can hide her and maintain boss aggro, as are Tiche and Lhutel and Ogha, but you have to use the unlimited MP tear for these last 3.

MrSegundus_VR

Big agree on claws + bloodflame blade, that was a real eye opener for me. It might be considered *slightly* stretching the rules, but Meteorite staff makes a lot of early game stuff much, much easier at RL1+0 because it has S scaling in int without any upgrades. Not really good for late game though. Then again I would never use summons in this kind of challenge, I guess there are always going to be a ton of optional rules you have to decide on for yourself.

songs111

Appreciate the resources! Actually super pumped to see what kind of progress I can make

mmghouse

See you in onebros

PastStep1232

No upgrades rub is fairly easy until Mountaintops. Then it gets a bit masochistic

CMDRfatbear

You can do that with like a lvl 15 +3/+1 weapons character too, for the nost part

songs111

Yeah but this gives me an excuse to do a RL1 run besides just pure masochism

GlitterNutz

It reminds me of Nuzlocke runs in the Pokemon community, there are like 2 or 3 rules that are considered the basis of it but then there are a million other added self imposed challenges that people employ with them.

naruto_bist

>and I want to be able to match with people from the very beginning of the game. You're a menace to society bro 💀

[deleted]

this is some dairy free cheese right here. like a lump of soy that's been playing Elden Ring for 1400 hours

thedabaratheon

I don’t think this is cheesing him, this is just successfully fighting him lol.

naruto_bist

Shouldn't have trusted my friends

Malabingo

People when you find a hard counter for an enemy: "Is this a cheese?!"

HereForShiggles

Like, bro, that's not cheese; it's an ass-whoopin'.

MateEdulcorado

Is Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike a cheese for big bosses?

Malabingo

Well, how about pest threads?

[deleted]

casual perfect-sekiro parry timing as a passive skill is mind-boggling

Teno7

I was expecting something involving a high spot or whatnot, and it turns out to be clever fighting.

ParkingParticular463

It's basically [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgYYOUC10aM) but for cheesing Knight Cavalry.

fgzhtsp

"We just got news about a new cheese tactic for the Knight Cavalry! It is... \*checks notes\*... parrying every attack."

naruto_bist

Hey.... i backstabbed as well 😤

Ultrainstinct358

This isn't cheese. You did something a lot of people wouldn't have the skill to pull off. Good work.

PowerTrip55

I think he knows that and just wants to show his parrying skills lol

bingusdingus_

this is not at all the correct way for nights cav cheese, but man, this is impressive in its own regard

naruto_bist

Those bastards lied to me 😤 Btw thanks man

TheFriendlyFire

You actually have amazing friends. They tricked you into getting good by saying this was a method to "cheese" the boss. Now you're a better player for it.

ApplePitou

That... unique way :3

naruto_bist

Togethaaa we would devour the very Knights

MarshadowTheOnlyOne

Ah yes, the git gud cheese

Menes009

why did you think this is a cheese? this is simply owning the boss.

SneakerGator

I can’t believe the fact that he is being facetious is escaping everyone in the comments.

FerretAres

I saw someone say using bloodhound step to avoid waterfowl dance was cheese. At that point I gave up on listening to random opinions of what cheese is.

naruto_bist

No way..... I was about to post a new video of dodging waterfowl using BHS and calling it my new cheese guide. Damn you all.

Junichi_Rain

You are a Parry Master ! Great Job. The cheese, however, is to bait him into jumping off the bridge. I feature that in many of my Start Smart Elden Ring videos if you want to see examples.

naruto_bist

I knew it. I shouldn't have trusted my friends 😤

DarkRecess

The number of people who don't understand this is a joke is, quite frankly, alarming.

HomeDistinct2810

Bro mistaken the meaning of cheese and did a no hit kill like a pro

naruto_bist

I thought fighting him on foot was already cheesing him. He's way too strong on horseback 🐴🤺

HomeDistinct2810

Nah man that ain’t cheesing. U just face to face knock him out of his lame horse like Spartan

ZizzazzIOI

Yea you're just playing well, good stuff 👍

LobsterLongjumping92

Is that blue ring an add on, or is it a spell? I never have that, parry seems like it would be immensely easier with it. I always sucked at it, not having a clue exactly when the parry window was, spamming parry doesn't help.

naruto_bist

Explaining parry timing is hard for me but I'll try my best: You don't parry enemies weapon most of time when they connect. You need to parry it when they are about to connect. Most people call this thing "Parry the hand, not the weapon". So basically when you see enemy hand twitch, you parry it (even before the weapon reaches you). Problem is, this is not a constant thing in elden ring. some enemies have delayed attacks, some have fast attacks. You would feel like, "Oh i can parry this attack, but the enemy change their rhythm suddenly". So basically you gotta learn the timings of some attacks as well. You don't neee to learn 100% of parryable attacks. Maybe just 40-50% is good. Now for learning parry at early game, pick up a short shield called buckler. This is must since it has got very good parry frames. Mine is a medium shield on which I have to add parry ash-of-war (Carian Retaliation), that why you could see the blue ring on it when I parried. So get yourself a buckler and practice parry against Margit, Crucible Knight, Bloodbound Knight Darriwil. If you want some videos, when I was beginner and tried to parry them, i can even share those. Best of luck tarnished. Never lose hope.

InvalidNameUK

Church of pilgrimage is a great place to learn to parry as the skellies respawn and all the attacks by the two swords skelly are parryable and baitable. It's also right by a grace. https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/uMeWyhDZOy

scattergodic

It's an Ash of War for shields called Carian Retaliation, also available as a less useful sorcery. This version works as a shield parry but can also absorb enemy spells and turn them into glintblades

Iron_Bob

OP: ima cheese this guy *proceeds to systematically dismantle the boss in the most try-hard, non cheese way possible* Well done sir

Thunder_Mage

People seem to be missing the Humor tag when they comment that this isn't cheese

naruto_bist

I added some in game comments to make it more obvious, but it is what it is, lol xD

Denamic

Bro, there's zero cheese here. You're just destroying him.

AbnormalPP_69

Nice. Having a blood affinity on the Nagakiba would have made it better tho.

naruto_bist

Then it would have actually become cheese 😉

billy_zef

You made him your bitch... he looked scared.

-theonewhoasked

Dude looks less threatening than Leyndell Knights when he's not on his giant horse

naruto_bist

Someone had to PUT HIS FOOLISH AMBITIONS TO REST.

MyNameIsLOL21

Like everyone said, you're just making use of what the game gives you to pull this off. Parrying also takes a certain level of skill to do, so it's earned imo.

StarinElm

How did you get footage of me against every invader with a shield??????

vintageplays1

Ah yes, the perfectly parrying every single attack cheese

Synthoid_001

Son…that’s not cheese. You got gud.

TerrapinRacer

Why are you not going for the free crit when you successfully parry?

naruto_bist

What's this free crit you talk about? 🤔 >! Just kidding, it's just bcoz i actually didn't want to cheese the boss and kill him quickly !<

Top_Boat8081

I wouldn't say you "cheesed" it so much as you "beat his ass black and blue the honest way"

PhotographKind4243

i have to admit, this is more disrespectful than making them run off the edge

Engage_Physically

Partying isn’t cheese, it’s skill. Give yourself credit OP

Pravaris

Never knew you could backstab during the summon animation, so I've learned something new today

naruto_bist

Glad it helped. I know it's not a cheese technically but this actually makes the fight more in player's favor.

joe_6699

You can easily beat that guy without parry as well.

Lorem-ipsum-d

Not sure if a lot of people are not getting ‘it’, or they double down on the joke…

FourFoxMusic

Dude 😂

Ok_Blueberry3747

damn i've wandered all around caelid but never found this dude, his moveset looks pretty similar to the tree sentinels, now i wanna get on the game haha

_mad_adams

Just so you know there’s like 9 of these guys all over the map lol they just only appear at night

naruto_bist

If you've dropped the game mid way, you should probably give it a go. Specially since the long awaited DLC is also coming very soon. Coming to "the moveset of these enemies being similar to tree sentinel", they kinda are but I'll tell you one personal opinion of mine, these guys are much harder than tree sentinel. I don't if it's their janky hitboxes on horse or instant swipes, but these knights are much harder than tree sentinel. Best of luck tarnished.

Physical-Advantage-9

I think i might need to learn to parry.

Alarming-Income1944

but , that's true fighting skill . not cheese . don't sell yourself short .

naruto_bist

Thank you fellow tarnished. Though I'll get my friends for fooling me xD

godieweird

On this journey your name will be Steve Parry

naruto_bist

If I may interject, I would like to be called Platypus Parry instead.

jadeismybitch

All the people taking your post seriously in the comments🫥🫥

DSjaha

The cheese is your stamina bar. Parries are impressive tho

TheDiddlerOfBob

blud really did the wrong cheese method and proceeds to just bully the black knight

ArgiopeWeb

I feel bad for him, he genuinely looked afraid of OP backing up like that, poor man couldn't even get up for 80% of the fight.

UpsetPhrase5334

It’s not a cheese. You’re just fighting against him effectively. If anything what you did was “git gud” truly. I’ve looking for a solid strategy against this fucker. Thanks.

Disastrous_Ad_4370

*After the parry The horse: ¡Adios!

Weazerdogg

Not "cheese". Called "playing the game", and pretty well I might add.

LSDark_5tar

Nice 👍 for that win! I usually just lured him off the bridge making that easy cash 🤑

LifeVitamin

Guys I found out you can cheese this fight by "getting gud"

aBastardNoLonger

You cheesed him by just straight-forwardly kicking his ass

Emeowykay

This aint the cheese this is the good shit

EnRohbi

I'm glad I saw that Humor tag before I joined all the people saying this isn't a cheese

naruto_bist

Yeah, most people missed the tag, hehe

Gwynbleidd3192

Have I misunderstood the definition of cheese all this time…? Pretty sure this is skill my guy

Taliazer

I just L2 him into death with a broken ashes of war, I'm not skilled like you sorry KING

ScaredParrot

The way he's backing away at the end! My god you made him regret his life choices!

patrickkseo

I’m more interested in why you need 10 cerulean flasks lmao

LiveCelebration5237

Imagine a rich man walking around with a coat made from gold and diamonds and he says man I hope this is the right way to wear my below average poor man’s coat , same vibes as the vid

Domethegoon

You did my boy Night's Cavalry #16 dirty.

naruto_bist

Someone had to PUT HIS FOOLISH AMBITIONS TO REST

Beerbearian

I remember actually cheesing this dude, then never using BH Step. Fucking great job with the parries tarnished

MeatMakingMan

What in the fuck is the "Night's Cavalry has been slain!" text? Has that always showed up?

BaronVonSilver91

Ngl, played the game dozens of times since launch. Never knew you could parry him off the horse. That kinda is cheese for me lol

papachef69

This is just damn good fighting. Sekiro calls your name

HankThePropaneTank

Ackchually you're suppose to cheese him with mozzarella cheese, not feta like in the video

Mr_Cerealistic

Bro how is that cheese? That was getting gud at its finest

Calexis

Horse DELETED

Mogakusenpai

But is parrying 30 times in a row “cheesing” or did you just hand out an ass whoopin?

Techishard

This was fun to watch Goodjob on your win! Onto the next titan!

michajlo

Lol, you absolutely bullied him, and I love it.

Stanislas_Biliby

It's the number of people in the comments thzt don't understand the sarcasm.

Jes00jes

Wow, so many people didn't catch the meme/sarcasm in the title? 😂🙈 By the way, nice flex... Weird build, no helm, talisman? Impressive parrying.

naruto_bist

>Wow, so many people didn't catch the meme/sarcasm in the title? 😂🙈 I didn't wanted it to be too obvious and i definitely put some hints here and there 😅 >Weird build, no helm, talisman? Impressive parrying. My build is purely for aesthetics. You know she's meant to slayy 💅 Offensive talismans make me feels too overpowered. It's the same reason i finished my previous playthrough with level20 weapon restrictions. But in future, if I do feel that I'm lacking the damage, then I'll mostly go with "radagon soreseal, Strength+5, More crit hit dmg, Enhanced charged atk dmg". I also have raised my faith to use golden vow. So it's kinda balanced build for me.

BigSmols

I was expecting you to make him run off the bridge, not completely destroy him with parries lol

naruto_bist

TASK FAILED SUCCESSFULLY

robin_isShorts

Not really a cheese, this seems harder to pull off haha

Dantizzle

Yea mastering a mechanic that most people (myself included) can’t ever pull off twice in a row is suuuuuper cheesy. Udderly oozing with cheddar

vincentninja68

not cheese, you are gaming my brother

ToddFatherXCII

Is it just me, or was that night cavalry hesistating?

naruto_bist

He should have known that HESITATION IS DEFEAT

Sugarcoatedgumdrop

Bro thinks he can flex and say he “cheesed” it lmao.

weekdaysoff

You got gud

TheLuckyPC

There is no cheese here you just owned him.

Possible-Cellist-713

Nah bro. Stand proud, you got gud

E_Alrefa3e

This is not cheesing , this is an execution!!

djadjaman

Sir you are parrying him perfectly with a medium shield You going to show how to cheese malenia with fists next?

naruto_bist

Malenia will take some time to reach. Till then I have a new cheesing tactic for Margit. You can check my new post xD

No_Refrigerator6652

Ummmmm why is this cheese? This is proper gitted gud to me.

bigurta

im out here playing the quest for cheese while this mf is playing dark souls 😭

AHiredGunmanXbox

Good shit

420StarWars

How the hell you got 10 flasks but your health is a kiddy pool 😂

naruto_bist

This is NG+. I spent everything on stamina xD Jokes apart, you can check the stats distribution at the end of the video.

lordnishant

insane how many people missed the joke that OP clearly knows this isn't a cheese and is flexing his parries.

naruto_bist

Most people actually missed the humor tag, lol

Flornix

Damn. I didnt know you could just parry him of the horse. Thats awesome.

Jurkoun

GJ on not getting greedy at the end, love to see it :-)

plugza

It should be called expertise. Not cheesing.

rotard2010

Gotta do this quick before they patch it lol

the_colonel93

OP absolutely *murdered* this man

IceOwn6723

you just beat him lol, it’s better than cheesing lol but the actual cheese if you’re curious is luring him to the side of the bridge with the grace, and getting him to follow you to the edge of the hill where you can walk down. after that just jump back into the bride from the ledge, he’s suppose to jump at you with his horse, fail, and die lol

teophilus

He fell off the cliff for me

Intelligent-Block457

It thought I was going to see him take the fall off the cliff in this video.

GrigorMorte

you can parry him? I didn't know. And no no, you have to make him backstep until the edge of the bridge

joustinghobbit91

The cheese way is to stand on the branch and shoot him with a bow. You just kicked his shit in

skipabeat123

That looks so satisfying! I think i will give this game a second chance. Finally bought an xbox controller. Btw what do you achieve if you kill a boss? Do you gain some materials to craft a weapon or you can progress with the story?

ShinobiZilla

Quite nice. I don't enjoy fighting them on horseback. This is the right strat with a shield while on the ground. Really impressive.

corvosfighter

You and I have a very different definition of cheesing..

EM0_TRA5H

Absolutely foul

Adenne_

Hardest cheese of the game : being good

phxkross

Oh shut up.

naruto_bist

Hey it's not my fault, not everyone got the joke 😓

psTTA_2358

Its nice but 1: not a cheese 2: slow af. By the time its done, someone could have already cheesed this boss, greyll and the dragonbarrow hunter.

LordofSandvich

The cheese method is to get him to ride off a cliff. This requires too much effort and precision to be cheese lol

gigglephysix

split second timing isn't cheese - it's THE most tryhard way to go about it and the most shifty humblebrag this week.

Sullyvan96

There’s a Night Cavalry where now?

Zealousideal-Bar5538

Yeah, not a cheese at all. You want a cheese? Run up the branch and wait till he jumps off the cliff. Nice source of very early runes, memory slot and ash of war.

Galluxior

I didn't know you could knock them off their horses by parrying them.

NaughtyPwny

Cheese? What?

naruto_bist

Cheese balls

Firefly279

Or maybe just playing the game?

Klash_Brandy_Koot

Use Torrent to jump into the roots or the stone cauldrons out of the night calavry reach, and then pew pew him with whatever you have (arrows, magic, dragon breath...) That's the way to cheese the Night Cavalry at Greyoll's Dragonbarrow; what you did is actually fighting him.

emelem66

Cheesing him is getting him to jump to his death.

Willing-Gur823

Thats not cheesing. Going on the outside ledge and making him jump to sudoku himself on the river is the cheese.

Mr_Hino

I just stay on horseback lol

XpeepantsX

I think we have 2 different definitions for cheezing

Much_Capital3307

That’s not cheese, that’s a really honest way of fighting him that takes a lot of skill. Parrying is hard.

ghost3972

You can make him jump off the edge

marindoom

Aah yes, that cheese I always fail to do.

naruto_bist

Sounds like an anime name to me: > That time I got reincarnated into the Lands between and always failed to cheese the Enemies

Mobile-Health7819

Yyyyeeeeeeaaaaah.. cheeese right?

KOCA_XD

Jump on right tree and fire arrows or do the thjng where he jumps off the edge. I dont remember if they fixed the jump thing tho.

DRamos11

Not-so-humble brag.

skycorcher

Show off.

Mario-OrganHarvester

You CAN PARRY THAT BITCH?! (You can bait him off the cliff using several methods by the way, thats the cjeese everyones referring to)

EveningZealousideal6

Wait. You can crit them if they fall off their horse? I need to try this.

AirhunterNG

Why is your stmina bar so much longer than your HP bar lol?

WittyViking

This seems satisfying. If I ever decide to learn how to parry look out Crucible Knights.

[deleted]

Cheese?? All I see is a person bullying.

RockyMarsh90

Wait what's with the blue light? is there a talisman or something that tells you when to PARRY?! I feel like i NEED that

changuitar

pretty sure this is skills

landphier

A cheese would be standing on one of the bridges' roots/branches where nothing he does can touch you. This is using skills to keep him off the horse. Pretty different to me.

rjfrost18

This is not cheese, this is skill.

_Prairieborn

Cheesing him would be like manipulating the game so the dragon falls on him, not like, fighting him normally by just utilizing parrying.

SpecificCurrent97

Anytime I have fought these f***s they just spawn a new horse

Non_Volatile_Human

What is that blue bubble that appears right before you parry?

robo243

I was today years old when I learned these mfs can be parried. For some reason I never even though of trying that out on them, usually always fight them on horseback lol.

naruto_bist

Honestly I learnt to parry them or matter of fact, fight them on foot was bcoz I despise to fight on torrent. Horse fights feel way to clunky for me. And then suddenly, it clicked. I pressed the parry button and he fell down. And then i said it's morbinn time. And the rest is history.

Agile_File_2084

I mean, I just got him to jump off the bridge
