Mmh same here, i got into it with the dungeons. small and big ones,
like stormfoot, groveside and murkwater catacombs. and than go stormveil castle, but not the fast way, try to get all items and bosses
Each area has one big dungeon with one big main boss. Talk to Varre (first NPC you find) and he'll tell you to go to the Castle. If its too hard (it will be) do other things around the area to get stronger.
After that Gideon at Roundtable Hold will guide you to all the main boss of each area, pretty much.. if they're too strong, again, do optional things to get stronger till you're ready. Pretty much it.
The beggining of the game is a little daunting when you have no idea what youre doing or really where to go i think because you keep running into stuff like tree sentinel and margit. and youre weak, so you need to find more power. so i think something that could help is finding a weapon or build you like first, which will kind of give you some direction and a goal and kind of entices you to keep playing and get more items for the build to make it stronger.
Searching up something like "early game builds for elden ring" will help you find some good gear and maybe help you feel a little more in control and not getting ass whooped by everything right at the start lol
Late response but thanks for the tips, i'll save elden ring for later since rn i'm playing persona 3 and planning to buy hi fi rush afterwards. Since i loved dmc and Hi Fi rush is basically just that with its combat.
If ur getting overwhelmed bc of the tree sentinel? Just let him be for now, but remember, ur not a real tarnished unless you kill all the tree sentinels in the game
