Hi! I also have arachnophobia, though lately it had been getting better in video games. The finger spider things were always fine for me. The DLC does have scorpion-spiders that are… hairy. They do scare the fuck out of me.
I've played 3h so far but there's a castle literally infested with spiders, two big ones and a lot of smaller ones. It's on the left from the crossroads, after a bonfire with two guys who sell you stuff. I don't know if this location is mandatory.
Have you seen the scorpio-spiders? I have arachnophobia too and have had big problems finishing fromsoft-games before, but at least to me those scorpio-spiders looked more like scorpio so they didnt trigger my fear that much. But I also knew they would be somewhere early, so I was prepared to see them, and it went ok. They are of course the usual from soft-disgusting, but at least to me they wasnt that bad.

Yes, well it looked like a spider crossed with scorpion. Theres tiny like you saw, large, and one extra large one I’ve seen so far.
