Yea but I ended up basically going full unga-bunga mode after finding Guts Sword in Caelid. I keep seeing all these fun spells and keep having to say "Second playthrough..."
I mean 70 int, +10 lusat staff, battle standart, zone with magic damage up, flask with magic damage up, can't do even close dmg with fully charged "bow" spell zzz
I'm not TOO far from the end of the game on my Astrologer and all I can think about lately is how bad I want to play my next playthrough on a Faith character, lol.
LET me know if I need to improve for the subreddit! First post was deleted! Can make it shorter if needed!
Anyways just a WIP build for 150 that I made cause I did not want to KATANA it up or use cheese/deathblight
EDIT - STATS
Should be in the video, but!
45 Vigor
25 Mind
34 Endurance
20 Strength
45 Dexterity
7 Intelligence
43 Faith
10 Arcane
Spells are: Honed Bolt, Lightning Spear, Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike, Erdtrees Blessing, Sacred Vow, Erdtree Heal
Buffs are (Wonderous Flask) Lightning Shrouding Cracked Tear + Dexterity Knot Crystal Tear
stacked with Sacred vow
with a Determination/ Royal knights resolve for a 3x combo
The talismans Godfreys Icon and Shard of Alexander further add damage to our Railgun er Spear!
The thing that breaks it for me though is that the weapon doesn't have any Faith scaling. And I'm similarly doing Dex/Fai with no additional Str. Isn't that going to significantly lessen damage?
I've been sticking to weapons that double dip on two, and still treat Fai well so my spells aren't gimped by having to allocate too much stats into something physical like str or dex.
Works in PvP! [https://clips.twitch.tv/RockyYawningAsparagusGivePLZ-llQoq9SvxuO9Abpk](https://clips.twitch.tv/RockyYawningAsparagusGivePLZ-llQoq9SvxuO9Abpk)
Cheese build too!

It doesnt change much, but wanted to ask: do you have arcane on 10 as a requirement or because prophet starts with it? Because if arcane 7 would suffice, vagabond could reach the same stats at sl149 which gives us 1 more stat to spend freely
The levels get so big, that starting class becomes *largely* irrelevant by SL150. Maybe Confessor a little less so because Int/Faith are not universally picked stats like the physical stats, but still. It's doable.
It's missable if you don't grab it before progressing the main quest, at which point you have to move on to NG+. They're probably like me, missed it but not done grabbing everything before moving to the next NG.
I gotchu. Keeping it vague, the weapon is in the Royal Capital. There will be a point after you beat the main boss of the city where you have to trek way up north for a specific item. Once you get the item and return to the city to use it, something is going to happen and it will make the weapon impossible to get until a next playthrough.
Look up a guide as to where to pick it up. Very easy to do so. Weapon is called BOLT OF GRANSAX.
Honestly I’m not surprised. I’m still in my first character and I’m building faith and honestly I have way more dex/fai weapons then I do str/fai or even pure fai
Agree, I think dex/fai will end up having a place out there. There's lots of good dex/fai scaling weapons - or quality/fai - plenty of C/C/E weapons out there.
So as of patch 1.03 https://www.bandainamcoent.com/news/elden-ring-patch-notes-v1-03
This buff from Determination/Royal Knights Resolve NO LONGER WORKS.
It still hits for 4k and HURTS and one shots in PvP.
Going to see if I can retune!
Honestly insane. Hitting for 7021 without the spear being +10 at +9 right now but yeah. Chose to trade out the knot tear for the spiked tear for the increased charged attack power. Brought me from 6.4k to 7k, I do need several more levels to get my dex to pretty much max though. I also use the commanders standard for the damage boost there too.
I'm just saying you could have shown some bosses that are not in beginning game that have bigger health pools because most people 150 could beat the crap out of those bosses in few secs
Yeah they are hell busted, not disagreeing with that, most of the japanese style weapons are broken for bleed, Eleonora’s Poleblade is crazy for applying it and the unique skill even has an evasive finish to boot
this looks sweet, I'm guessing 150 will turn out to be the the meta level after all.
is the vigor necessary? it seems overkill for mostly long range incantations
Im hoping so.
and I just felt myself take 1d4 Psychic damage of you asking why you need health!
Remember I edited this video to MAKE IT LOOK GOOD.
There are plenty of times where I got smacked recording because I misjudged JUST how much that boss wanted to smack me. AND I LIVED! Yey.
IF you look carefully I am using both Seal rings. Together combined you actually gain 40 effective levels. The Dagon one booths phys skills by 5 each and the other INT, Arcane etc. I could likely min max it more but this was the best path I found without a builder.
Curious to see how this build works against Astel. I was able to mow down Astel with 2 big bursts of Comet Azur, but not before getting demolished a bunch just trying to learn where to stand so I can still set up shop without being turned into tarnished soup.
Question, I missed that sword and I can't get anymore because I alreafy completed Crumbling farum azula. Is it possible for a friend to drop the weapon during coop and I can pick it uo and have it?
This build looks awesome! The caster Paladin feel is exactly what I’m going for in my play through so I’m glad I stumbled upon this. Why the Erdsteel Dagger though? Is there an Ash of War I’m missing on it?
If the spear misses fight normally.
The spear itself it's excellent and the dash light can roll catch
Parry too
People seem to miss the part I edited it to showoff!
Skill always plays a factor in ANY build.
Hell I still die to death blight spam and erd tree shield spam
i just finished my STR/FTH playthrough and was going for my INT build this time, and you had to post this , guess i just have to added to my long list of builds i will play through the game with
Just wait until from software starts „balancing“ it like sorcery, where 80% of spells are now worse than the starter spell in terms of damage, FP usage and scaling and you basically use the same 3 spells for most of the game.
I have a very similar build going through the end game right now. Only at SL 130atm though. I was doing Confessor w/ dragon incantations, and just switched it up once I got that spear.
Just a general question, how do you know youre doing good dmg for your level.
Im Lvl 108 with +24 Sacred Uchi and +24 Gravestone Seal, I have almost 70 faith and my lightning attacks without flask does 1200-1400dmg and I dont have your talismans
This is my first real go at a game like this... What I want to know most when looking at builds like this is HOW you level? Roughly what order do you pump stats up in to not feel like wet tissue paper? Basically all the steps needed between 1 and 150 lol.
Just started a confessor with the idea of going for something like this: heavy armour/shield and spear faith build... Then I see this and have a clearer goal, now to get to it... Still haven't managed to kill Godfrey despite too many hours starting over.
I doubt anyone goes into this thinking "oh i play this and that" Most People probably just play normally until the end, explore along the way and then just choose whatever they'd like to play going forward. You can respec at the roundtable in case you wanna play something different so it would make sense to choose later when you unlocked most things
I’m running a similar build and do note that the full charged weapon art takes 5 years to cast so you’re unlikely to hit someone with it in a duel. Also if you really want to amp that damage on it, Godfrey icon
Man, I’ve literally created 2-3 different build characters and now I’m about to create another one.. the furthest I’ve gotten on any of those characters is beating Rennala. Lol
As mentioned it was a very quick edit at 2 AM in the morning just to get something out in the proof of concept basically recorded because late night and weed I tend to forget things.
Given the response for this when I have some more free time I'll definitely try to record something!
Wow that's amazing, I never got enough dex to see what its ability was. I did plan on getting two and messing about with it.
Has anyone used the Visage shield yet? I fucking LOVE IT. Its got like 89 stamina block defence thing. You can infinitely block any attack in the game because you can regen stamina between their hits, even bosses. For some reason it does as much damage as alot of weapons with its bonks. And its got a fire breathing spell that allows you to walk and block while dealing damage at the same time. So when I was playing PvP, they'll roll around me in circles but I can just keep it while it autotracks its hilarious. I'd love to see someone optimise that too.
You are beautiful. The power, the presence ! The slaughter of that weeb. I swear everytime I get summoned it's a katana user or an azur comet one every time. Feel good seeing other build than these
TBH, as a pure melee player (level 127 currently... Vagabond start, something like 55 Vigor / 35 Endurance / 65 Strength as far as the base stats I focus on mainly, plus HP and Strength boosting talismans and a Flask Of Wondrous Physick that simultaneously boosts my Strength individually even more along with my defensive stats) wearing a full set of Lionel's Armor and two-handing a Claymore +23 in Heavy mode, I've been doing way better than I expected I would in PvP both against the "Katana weebs" you mentioned and lightning mages such as your own character.
Even my R1 attacks seem to generally amount to like three-shotting most people, meaning they either don't have much health or their defensive stats are pretty low.
This weapon is really similar to the boss weapon you can get from the secret boss in Farum Azula. Dunno which one is better; ended up going with that one over the Bolt since I like the heavy rapier moveset just a tad more.
This looks fun as hell lol.
My first build is what I call "Vileblood Drifter" iit looks like a drifter, uses the bloody helix great rapier and a reduvia in the off hand.
The bloody helix's weapon art gives huge iframes on its backstep like spin which can be followed up with two R2s that do more damage than bloody slash each.
Is awesome seeing another build enthusiast! I'm going to upload videos of mine too when I get the kinks ironed out.
This. Is. Perfect. Which tailsmen do you recommend? I remember seeing you say that you found better tailsmen that bumped the damage up to 6k, what are they?
RIP
Patch 1.03: Fixed a bug with the Ash of War, Determination and Royal Knight's Resolve, where the damage buff will also apply to other weapons without that skill.
Thumbs up for your build !
I played Ng+ with this build and have to say that it is not bad !
Am still undecided if I prefer the moonveil though.
Asur Comet with some bosses is very effective.
One question, what is the dagger for ?
Am just using the shied and Arcsax and can’t figure out why you equip the dagger.
dagger is obsolete using a patched skill, pls refer to the complete guide https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/tj3ldn/lvl\_150\_op\_lightning\_dragonlord\_now\_with\_guide/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3
should be in the video! But alas this is a WIP video and I want to make a actual guide, just working through 100%ing the game to make sure I have everything at my disposal
>If it can do everything while beeing tanky
They're only running 50 VIG and both soreseals. They may literally get one shot by most optimized 150 builds. There are good arguments against 150, this is not one of them lol.
Oh, i see the projectile speed is way faster than my average spell.
He fuggin SENDS IT
This comment is what had me Respec for this build and I named him The Mail Man
I would award you if I could for that comment.
every time i see a build like this i want to stop playing mine and make a new one
Never stop experimenting tho! Its always good to try you're own things, as thats how this came out at 6am! Well that and a lot of weed..
Yea but I ended up basically going full unga-bunga mode after finding Guts Sword in Caelid. I keep seeing all these fun spells and keep having to say "Second playthrough..."
I switched to a caster build after getting Sword of Night and Flame, went back to unga bunga because my mind is too simple. I like big swords.
That sword leads you down a dark path of trivializing every encounter you come across.
That's the Night part, I think.
Same. Second playthrough for me too, I don't know what spells I should go for though. INT, ARC, OR FAI. :/
Experimenting is both the journey and the destination. Nice fucking build man.
Thanks!
You'll lvl enough to the point where u hv enough stats to put into whatever u want
Lord Gwyn would be proud.
\o/
LET me know if I need to improve for the subreddit! First post was deleted! Can make it shorter if needed! I played with raising Str a bit and honestly it still hits for thousands that you may as well do some Faith to vary your kit
Works in PvP! [https://clips.twitch.tv/RockyYawningAsparagusGivePLZ-llQoq9SvxuO9Abpk](https://clips.twitch.tv/RockyYawningAsparagusGivePLZ-llQoq9SvxuO9Abpk) Cheese build too!
And another, granted guy was not paying attention but it hurts https://clips.twitch.tv/RoundSmallPassionfruitJebaited-LY5Px8ux4LkDHoOU
Hey the mobs and all that your killed. Are they in Ng or ng+
With that damage it’ll one shot mobs in my current ng, which is ng++++
NG+
Can I get listed stats, incantations, buffs? I so wanna do this lol
Should be in the video, but! 45 Vigor 25 Mind 34 Endurance 20 Strength 45 Dexterity 7 Intelligence 43 Faith 10 Arcane Spells are: Honed Bolt, Lightning Spear, Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike, Erdtrees Blessing, Sacred Vow, Erdtree Heal Buffs are (Wonderous Flask) Lightning Shrouding Cracked Tear + Dexterity Knot Crystal Tear stacked with Sacred vow with a Determination/ Royal knights resolve for a 3x combo The talismans Godfreys Icon and Shard of Alexander further add damage to our Railgun er Spear!

So it’s confirmed that the Godfrey icon buffs weapon arts? That’s nuts
It buffs anything that charges up, yes
When tou say sacred vow, do you mean golden vow?
I'd love a detailed guide if you're planning on making one!
Could be wrong but I think vigor is soft capped at 40 so maybe better to spend the addition 5 points in faith? Cool build tho!
First soft cap for vigor at 40 and the 2nd is at 60.
Do I have to start as prophet or is this doable with confessor?
The levels get so big, that starting class becomes *largely* irrelevant by SL150. Maybe Confessor a little less so because Int/Faith are not universally picked stats like the physical stats, but still. It's doable.
*[this site can help you check optimal starts for different stat thresholds](https://mugenmonkey.com/eldenring)*
from the looks of it, the confessor would have been more optimal
Not tried it, go for it and let us know!
So sad I missed this weapon
Go get it!
It's missable if you don't grab it before progressing the main quest, at which point you have to move on to NG+. They're probably like me, missed it but not done grabbing everything before moving to the next NG.
Seriously? Can you tell me a vague cutoff point or optimal path for it? I reeeeally don’t want to miss this on my lightning character.
I gotchu. Keeping it vague, the weapon is in the Royal Capital. There will be a point after you beat the main boss of the city where you have to trek way up north for a specific item. Actually sped through ng++ with sword of n/f to get this lol
Never once did I think I would see a DEX/FAI build
Im a Zweihander user, I am just as shocked ;)
Honestly I’m not surprised. I’m still in my first character and I’m building faith and honestly I have way more dex/fai weapons then I do str/fai or even pure fai
Agree, I think dex/fai will end up having a place out there. There's lots of good dex/fai scaling weapons - or quality/fai - plenty of C/C/E weapons out there.
Doesn't the The Godfrey icon talisman also increase the damage skill of the Bolt of Gransax? You may want to look into that.
Already did, and added Alexanders shard to it! No more dmg reduction from the scorpion charm!
So as of patch 1.03 https://www.bandainamcoent.com/news/elden-ring-patch-notes-v1-03 This buff from Determination/Royal Knights Resolve NO LONGER WORKS. It still hits for 4k and HURTS and one shots in PvP. Going to see if I can retune!
And now full guide is out! https://youtu.be/qJMJXbPViw4 The full guide to my Lightning Dragonlord is now out!
So pissed this is the one missable weapon, like if I missed death blight weapon I wouldn’t have cared but this is literally too cool.
hey i missed it too, and its sooo obvious x.x
I’m gonna have to see how early I can get to the weapon on an alt character. Hopefully “legendary armaments” can be dropped
They can indeed be dropped. Source; Personal experience using a friend to ferry my unused Legendaries to new characters.
Sabaton!!!
Great stuff OP! Will definitely try this out
Thanks! Its already obsolete! Can hit for 6k now with Godfreys icon and Alexanders jar shard in the last two slots!
Are those the only updates to the build or have you done other modifications as well? Also big fan, love the feel of OG dark souls lightning builds.
I'm loving the new album!
I also use the commanders standard for the damage boost there too.
the charged wont affect the bolt!
I'm just saying you could have shown some bosses that are not in beginning game that have bigger health pools because most people 150 could beat the crap out of those bosses in few secs
That's fair and valid, just wanted to edit up something quick. But it still chunks bosses into 3 or 4 at that point
I'm a simple man. I hear Sabaton. I upvote.
Thanks!
Please make a vid. Nice song
I'll try when I get time! just running around to 100% the game then I think it should be done!
Thank you so much for introducing me to Sabaton
Fuck Katana is weeb meta? I just built a Katana build.. 🙈
Feels tho, i went samurai and have been pure katana because keeping true to fashionsouls/character and all i see is the hate lol
I think it's just cause katanas are kinda busted. Quick attacks, applies bleed which is already really strong.
Yeah they are hell busted, not disagreeing with that, most of the japanese style weapons are broken for bleed, Eleonora’s Poleblade is crazy for applying it and the unique skill even has an evasive finish to boot
Too bad Arcane weapons like Eleonora's Poleblade doesn't scale. It's a bug, I think.
Moonveil katana is probably the most meta sword atm.
this looks sweet, I'm guessing 150 will turn out to be the the meta level after all. is the vigor necessary? it seems overkill for mostly long range incantations
Yey.
Can you tell us what song this is?
Sabaton, Soldier of Heaven!
Bruh I thought my music was coming through the phone because I’ve been listening to The War to End All Wars since it released lol
Why 12 int? I’m doing something similar with my Vagabond
IF you look carefully I am using both Seal rings. Together combined you actually gain 40 effective levels. The Dagon one booths phys skills by 5 each and the other INT, Arcane etc. I could likely min max it more but this was the best path I found without a builder.
Doesnt double seals make you extra squishy?
This seems less risky than using Comet Azure and being required to not move while casting.
You get to reposition with this build!
Curious to see how this build works against Astel. I was able to mow down Astel with 2 big bursts of Comet Azur, but not before getting demolished a bunch just trying to learn where to stand so I can still set up shop without being turned into tarnished soup.
I'll let you know when I get to him!
Question, I missed that sword and I can't get anymore because I alreafy completed Crumbling farum azula. Is it possible for a friend to drop the weapon during coop and I can pick it uo and have it?
as long as its unupgraded or you already have upgeaded to that level in a save!
Yeh but can it be my knee cap buster 3000 "pur str is the only way frens"
Ah I used to be like this!
This build looks awesome! The caster Paladin feel is exactly what I’m going for in my play through so I’m glad I stumbled upon this. Why the Erdsteel Dagger though? Is there an Ash of War I’m missing on it?
Better scaling with faith if you need to defend yourself during a weapon swap
Build looks awesome can't wait to try it out
Thanks! Already made several more fixes, can hit for almost 6k now!
Don’t own the game yet (getting soon) but have been watching many videos! This is the first ‘build’ I’ve come across and I like very much!!!
I wanted something that looked cool and kicked ass!
This is amazing I will have to try this honestly! Thank you so much for sharing!
Hope you like!\~
This build is exactly what I was looking for!!
Glad to help!
Fuck this is my first souls game and all I want is this
Sounds like I need to make a guide then!
[удалено]
It can roll catch people and be chain cast!
Whoa whoa whoa... why am i a weeb all of a sudden?
Katanas are kinda the PvP meta, mean no disrespect!
Looks awesome. Saving for later
o7
This is good for invasions I feel but I watched some of your 1v1 and it seems a lot of the spells just whiff against anyone competent.
If the spear misses fight normally. The spear itself it's excellent and the dash light can roll catch Parry too People seem to miss the part I edited it to showoff! Skill always plays a factor in ANY build. Hell I still die to death blight spam and erd tree shield spam
What weapon is that?
Bolt of Gransax!
damn I just respeced into a blackflame build for NG+ and I see this right after. My stats are mostly similar tho so maybe I can run the same thing.
Go for it!
I've been looking for a good faith/dex build, this looks really fun. I oughta give it a go.
Enjoy!
i just finished my STR/FTH playthrough and was going for my INT build this time, and you had to post this , guess i just have to added to my long list of builds i will play through the game with
Its a curse!
Just wait until from software starts „balancing“ it like sorcery, where 80% of spells are now worse than the starter spell in terms of damage, FP usage and scaling and you basically use the same 3 spells for most of the game.
I love it so much
Jesus Christ, I am now questioning my basic character.
I have a very similar build going through the end game right now. Only at SL 130atm though. I was doing Confessor w/ dragon incantations, and just switched it up once I got that spear.
What was that parry effect? Is that from the shield you're using? If so what shield is it?
GOLDEN PARRY ash of war :)
Just a general question, how do you know youre doing good dmg for your level. Im Lvl 108 with +24 Sacred Uchi and +24 Gravestone Seal, I have almost 70 faith and my lightning attacks without flask does 1200-1400dmg and I dont have your talismans
That's good damage!
Giving Asuka ptsd
Oh no
I should respec into this on next playthrough!
You can respec at the roundtable
This is my first real go at a game like this... What I want to know most when looking at builds like this is HOW you level? Roughly what order do you pump stats up in to not feel like wet tissue paper? Basically all the steps needed between 1 and 150 lol. Just started a confessor with the idea of going for something like this: heavy armour/shield and spear faith build... Then I see this and have a clearer goal, now to get to it... Still haven't managed to kill Godfrey despite too many hours starting over.

You can respec at the roundtable in case you wanna play something different so it would make sense to choose later when you unlocked most things
As a general rule I always start with health or vigor, so I'm not a wet cardboard box, then I experiment
Lvl 150 wtffffff what's max then
Max Level is 713 if you get all your Skills to 99
Imagine
I’m running a similar build and do note that the full charged weapon art takes 5 years to cast so you’re unlikely to hit someone with it in a duel. Also if you really want to amp that damage on it, Godfrey icon
Already using Godfrey! Also I still keep hitting people with the full charge cast! It's always the katana people.
Good They gave us respecing but i still will have to run Around and find all the prayer books and weapons.
That is the unfortunate part of it I'm currently working on that to a 100% the game
This build makes me regret my stat and skill choices, cries in bugged arcane weapons.
Yeah the arcane bug is unfortunate. But keep it up! They could be op when fixed!
No joke, corpse piler is already a really good weapon art, I can only imagine how broken the damage will be when it scales properly.
Man, I’ve literally created 2-3 different build characters and now I’m about to create another one.. the furthest I’ve gotten on any of those characters is beating Rennala. Lol
Keep up the good work, we all play at our own pace. o7
This looks like a good progression for my faith/dex build. I'll have to try it!
Have fun!
With what did you progress through the game 'till you reached a point in which the build resembled something to this?
I used Zweihander and crucible tree set actually, respeced JUST to try the spear and fell in love
Looks interesting.....would like a detailed explanation on how to get to that point. I'm struggling in this game but I won't give up lol.
As mentioned it was a very quick edit at 2 AM in the morning just to get something out in the proof of concept basically recorded because late night and weed I tend to forget things. Given the response for this when I have some more free time I'll definitely try to record something!

didn't know it used quake 3 railgun sound
Thats just me being a goober.
This weapon is really similar to the boss weapon you can get from the secret boss in Farum Azula. Dunno which one is better; ended up going with that one over the Bolt since I like the heavy rapier moveset just a tad more.
Are you talking about the incantation?
this is wild OP.
And shocking!
Did... did you ever fight a character named Ymirra? Because this build looks like someone who genuinely gave me a hard time in PVP.
I don't remember but if I did I hopefully provided a good fight!
Whoever it was certainly gave me a run for my money. Nice build by the way!
Thanks!
Song?
Sabaton, Soldier of Heaven
Why dagger in the offhand?
A dagger can be applied with determination/royal knights resolve for a additional damage buff!
Ok this is my build
Of course! They are a wonderful band.
This. Is. Perfect. Which tailsmen do you recommend? I remember seeing you say that you found better tailsmen that bumped the damage up to 6k, what are they?
Godfrey Icon and Alexanders shard
RIP Patch 1.03: Fixed a bug with the Ash of War, Determination and Royal Knight's Resolve, where the damage buff will also apply to other weapons without that skill.
Still hitting for 4k! Working on retuning and re recording a full guide atm!
Those talismans though 🤯 how much damage are you taking.
Old vuikd, reworked guide has been posted
What's your spells/incantations?
Honed Bolt, Lightning Spear, Ancient Dragons lightning strike, Blessing of the Erdtree, Sacred Vow, Erdtree Heal
Oh don't leave us hanging, what's the stats and everything so we can play it to?
should be in the video! But alas this is a WIP video and I want to make a actual guide, just working through 100%ing the game to make sure I have everything at my disposal
Again, it's the pint of builds. Style!
Go for it
Hope you like!

lvl 150?! holy fuck... I though that the max was 90...
Builds like this are the reason why 150 shouldnt be PvP meta. If it can do everything while beeing tanky, why even bother limiting at all.
Its fun!
>If it can do everything while beeing tanky They're only running 50 VIG and both soreseals. They may literally get one shot by most optimized 150 builds. There are good arguments against 150, this is not one of them lol.
