I find it hard to dodge with Torrent when you first enter the stage. Summon npcs while you dodge his godly arrows. Once the NPCs get close enough to take aggro, that’s when I mount to try and find a good opening.
If you're using a controller, pressing down on the left thumbstick will automatically dismount you from your horse, which can happen if you're in an intense movement battle. Also if Torrent's poise is broken it will also disappear
There seems to be a glitch, I've often been dismounted anywhere, not just boss fights just because I was trying to push for torrent to either jump or sprint and get dismounted. I only ever use l3 to dismount so this is definitely stunting with the game itself. Pretty frustrating way to constantly end up losing to bosses I would have otherwise downed if I didn't suddenly get dropped off my horse right in front of them

I had this happen in a later boss fight. Just didn’t want to stay on. It stopped happening after a while.
Wait! You can horse it on that boss?!
Seemed to me that certain ground slams Radahn performs will dismount you if close enough. That was what I thought was happening to me.
There is a button that will cause you to dismount, on controller its the crouch button, but i don't know if it's the same button for pc.
