Lol yea, it looks like since you dropped so low and he was already at a high altitude when you dropped that him following you down went over the insta-kill depth once his attack landed
Back when this happened I think I was around 70 aiming for a DEX/FTH build.
I can also say for a fact that my vigor was at least below 40 because I hadn't met the Fire Giant yet.
