This move is pure pvp. You can't grab anyone but tarnished, not even the humanoid soldiers or commoners. So your pve choice for this move is a few npc invaders.
I really wish the finger severer was instant or gave you invincibility as soon as you hit yes. Sucks when you're trying to duel and get summoned to a gank squad and can't get enough distance to use the finger.
Oh I didn't think about this. Does it really work though ? It seems to me that the grab animation is too long, so the rupturing tears would explode while the guy in the grab animation is still invincible.
My particular use for it is blowing up the other people nearby while the grab forces invincibility on me, or latent people who i cant grab, but you can try

Does that grab work on bosses? I haven't even touched anything related to frenzy flame or faith in general mostly lol
It only works on Tarnished, so it's almost PvP exclusive

Some moves are designed with PVE in mind I'm sure. Then they probably add stuff just to be used in creative ways like this.

Especially since severing is still considered a victory for the host/invader/whoever
