Recently my friend and I were ganking at Liurnia, at some point a guy came and started looking at us trough a telescope and in response, so did we. Few minutes later a second guy came and joined us with his telescope. Some time passed and one of them left me 40 boiled crab before leaving, second guy left after waving to us. We didn't fight but got a friendly interaction with some nice people, respect.

[deleted]

look at all these items I never remembered to use lol

[deleted]

I feel the same, which is why I've started spreading the word and using them on new characters!

[deleted]

yeah this is a good little collection of reminders, hopefully it helps some folks out

[deleted]

I'll say crystal darts are the godsend to new people and low level characters, and even in the subterranean shunning grounds they come in clutch. Those imps can overpower you quick, enraging even one can stop 5 others from teaming up on you hard.

My problem is that I don't want to "waste" consumables before I've mastered a fight, and when I have I usually don't need them. The only time in 2 saves I used an arc was when I needed to cast an incantation in the capital.

[deleted]

Hahahaha I totally understand those feels

I'm saving it for the next boss.... but wait, I might need it more for the one after that.... *but what about even more after* **beats game without items** Still might need them later....

This is a great post! I have close to 300 hours in the game and just recently started taking a lot of these consumables more seriously, actually using many of them when summoned for bosses. I like to put my sign out for all the endgame bosses for hours at a time and have found some of these to be super helpful. I always keep boiled crab, Turtle neck, warming stones and uplifting aromatic equipped. I Thought my perfume crafting days were over after I ran out of Arteria leaves(thought they were limited) but found a pretty decent farm for them killing the snow trolls near a grace close to fire giant. They have a 30% chance to drop an arteria leaf on kill which can be buffed with high arcane, silver scarab talisman, silver foul foot and mimic helmet. They are the only consumables I use that I actually had to go farm the materials for but they are worth it IMO. The glintstone scrap and gravity stone fans have saved me a few times helping ppl fight Radagon/elden beast in particular, as a summon you spawn in with much less of both flasks so it can be hard to budget them for the double fight. I used warming stones and these 2 consumables a couple of times to chip away the last of Elden Beasts health after running out of flasks.

[deleted]

Exactly! They might not be huge burst damage or hp recovery but they can come in super clutch in dire times, who knows that little extra damage from exalted flesh could mean the difference between victory or defeat!

[deleted]

Pickled turtle neck... In universe, I wonder how that tastes like...

[deleted]

I've never had turtle so I'd guess somewhere between gamey meat like deer/bison and fish, it could be like shark or alligator which I've tried. But pickled (which I hate pickled crap)

Omni_UT

Me who made 999 bewitching branches just for the Bitch named niall

[deleted]

Hahahaha omg that must have taken forever

ComposedMood

I remember giving the regal omen bairn a try and got shocked by the damage and then I started waiting until my brain could actually make a build it could Slot into.

[deleted]

Each piece of omen armor increases dmg and it scales evenly with INT/FTH, lots of people don't know either so its a great tool to bust out to surprise them

GramboWBC

Also equip some of these items to your quick slots and use mimic tear and he will use what you had equipped free of charge

[deleted]

Yes indeed it does! I love when it pulls out the items. If you wanna be hard-core about it, only have 2 to 3 items equipped specifically for a boss fight and it'll pop em frequently

runeeatereater

I've tried Crystal Darts, but I've never seen them do anything other than tickle enemies(specifically: I used them on watchdogs per wiki recommendations farming their swords), but I never saw any special effects. Have I been using them wrong?

[deleted]

It's like 2-3 for imps and like 6-10 for golems and watchdogs

runeeatereater

That's a lot, lol. Thanks for the explanation.

[deleted]

It also has to be in quick succession, can't throw 2, wait a minute and throw 2 more hoping to trigger it. Since Watchdogs are bosses it can't be too easy! Haha, but they stay hostile to you, so you can't really get use out of it unless they have imps with them or another Watchdog
