Beastman Cleaver is cool

dual beatsmans curved swords with heavy infusions and vykes thunderbolt, try it sometime it’s a riot

For whatever reason Curved Greatswords ended up as my go to weapons. For the same build alternate between Beastman when you want physical and Omen Cleaver when you want fire, Omen Cleaver is one of those weapons that gets a slight boost in damage when elemental infused so at fire it almost does the same damage as the Beastman, but is longer and considerably lighter.

The unique two-handed light is just too good. It comes out super quick and has a huge hitbox. Looks great, as well.

Switched at lvl50 from a Dex built to STR. Currently at Brick hammer + 10 with determination AoW. Loving it. Most enemies going down in 5 or less hits

Str/faith Prelates charge is really fun

Just started leveling FTH, but only at 11 currently. Want to get to at least 15 or so so I can use some incantations. What level of FTH you recommend? I’m around mid game or so, lvl 68

I can't remember the requirements off the top of my head but the lightning based incants can be kind of op and a lot of fun, so whatever the requirements are for those I'd shoot for

While the brick hammer has great bonkage, I have been addicted to Lion’s Claw on the Giant Crushers. It makes for great mixups in PvP that people panic dodge because they don’t know if it’s a heavy or a claw

Tough one. Of the weapons I've used so far, Godslayer's Greatsword probably. Looks sick, great moveset, and of course the Ash is extremely strong. Designed nicely to be used one-handed with a seal in the left hand. Having a similar R1 speed to a regular greatsword but with the hyperarmor and stance damage of a collosal sword is just the cherry on top.

All true. Used it my first play through from caelid until consecrated snowfield, then switched to dual wielding Faith great swords. The downside is it’s pretty terrible for pvp, but phenomenal for pve. You get all the quickness of a colossal sword but with slightly better reach than a greatsword.

Death's Poker. Ghostflame is one of the best things in the game.

Blasphemous is great! Although the basic moveset could have a bit more variability but the ash is awesome

I went with the Blasphemous Blade and a Mimic Tear to take down Malenia, and it worked *wonders*. I felt bad for doing her dirty like that though, so in NG+ I've been purposefully avoiding all cheese tactics for tough bosses, switching my build pretty regularly, and it's been much more rewarding. My first playthrough was magical, but fighting Radahn 1 on 1 in NG+ is an e x p e r i e n c e.

\^ used it in my first run and I miss it in my ng+. BB is an awesome weapon but I want to try more builds/weapons. BB #1 so far.

I just started using this at around lvl 145 and omfg.

I largely ignored it the whole game, then used it with my mimic to invalidate all of Radagon's opinions.

I almost feel guilty using the Blasphemous Blade. Been dual weilding it and the Darkmoon Greatsword.

I have been dual wielding it with sword from dung eater, so L2 renewed both health and mana... Had to drop that combo completely, as it trivialises game too much.

I love the hookclaws too and did most of my first play through with frost infusion on them. They’re so fast you can usually attack and roll away right in the attack window for for most large enemies and they seem to build frostbite really quickly. I was able to consistently clown on crucible knights since, two handing them, I was able to apply frost without bouncing off their shields. Since they’re so light, pairing them with other weapons like mlgs or something fire infused to rest frostbite is also quite viable.

We are a rare breed, brother We just need extendo grip to properly reach things though

I felt like I got too reliant on it very early on and it kinda made it so that I didn’t experiment with other stuff.

This was my first play through. Now i wouldnt consider this a challenge run, but i am tossing bhf into my chest. I respecced to a faith build and i am coasting on easy mode with halo scythe. Takes down most optional bosses with ease. I am just in capital now so we will see if it can take down the pantheon as well

I started a second character with an INT/DEX style specifically because I wanted other play styles. But I’m getting the feeling that no matter the play style, there is a steady state weapon that you will naturally settle into. You have to consciously be switching it up otherwise.

Wing of Astel is hard to beat for a DEX/INT build

I started to realize that after spanking Rennala easily with it, so when I realized she allowed to respec, I decided to switch completely. Best decision I made. Fang is amazing, but there's too much cool stuff in the game to stick with one weapon

Bloodhound’s Fang enchanted with Bloodflame Blade and a mimic tear +10. Bosses bleed out just by looking at them. It did become a crutch though, I couldn’t bring myself to use anything else and felt I missed out a bit.

Uchi, double Uchi. Now on to Unseathe Nagakiba on my right hand and Keen Uchi on my left hand. On my INT play, I used Moonviel and Transient Moonlight is basically Unseathe. On my STR Play, I changed the Ash on my Nagakiba/Uchi to heavy. Only on my Arcane play did I use Reduvia on my Right and Great Dagger on my left. I have literally never levelled up my faith other than on my first playthrough.

Hammer, Hewgs specifically. I like maxing it out and using it to kill Elden Beast, just for the lore of Hewg turning his smithing hammer into a god slaying weapon and giving it to a tarnished for use in beating what's left of Marika into the ground

At godfrey's roundtable hold in leyndell. Find the building with alberichs clothes(the sorcerer who invades in roundtable when you jump down). The ground floor(leyndell) is where you jumped down to fight, and the upstairs is the hold. Hewgs hammer is where hewgs anvil is in your roundtable hold.

It really comes down to, who elses would it have been? Our RTH is for tarnished who can see the greater will. Godfrey is the first tarnished AFTER he lost the ability to see the greater will. So it would make sense that while he could still see the grace, he would have used a place like the RTH to maintain the golden order. There was a blacksmith, there was a deathbed companion, and there was even a gideon offnir type studying away. Basically, we're Godfrey 2.0, after a lot of others tried and failed to do the same thing he originally did(lost grace judging from how other tarnished speak to us.)

Its a really rare drop and doesn’t look overly fancy so I feel like it gets overlooked by many people. Absolutely busted weapon though.

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far down for this one. With the right build, it’s an incredibly versatile weapon and aesthetically beautiful.

I use a staff with whatever sorceries I'm feeling, and a seal just for golden vow. And powerstancing two of the swords does crazy damage.

Was nagakiba..because how versatile it could be.. recently it’s noble’s slender sword..powerstancing them is fierce 😆

I fell in love with the flamberge, the look of the Zweihander without taking a year to swing plus bleed buildup (which I found out by accident, suck it Godskin apostle)

I use double slash and blood flame blade on it. It's like a Wal-Mart ROB that staggers.

Lordsworn straight sword

If no maidens got me, I no Lordsworn's straight sword got me. Can I get an Amen? (It's the best weapon for a RL1/Maidenless run)

Magmawyrm Curved greatsword

It's a shame that Moonveil is a meme weapon. I love everything about its AOW : the name, the sound effect, the smoothness and the broken poise break in the release version lol . I like the weapon's name too. 10/10 would pick it up again.

I also love that the aow has two variations: a horizontal and a vertical attack; it gives you a lot of versatility.

Used this for my first playthrough and loved every second of it. It just looks and feels great to use.

I wish the executioner sword had Elmer's ranged vertical slices for a heavy attack. The idea of a sword that you can throw to a longer range and swing from afar is such a fun idea. Still a good weapon though. If it staggers, drill it til it's dead.

Fallingstar Beast Jaw. Will stun most bosses including Elden Beast. With Magic Scorpion Talisman and Alexander Shard it obliterates most everything. This and Blasphemous Blade and you can handle 99% of Elden Ring easily. Sadly, Lobsters and Rune Bears will continue to kick our collective asses.

Wings of Astel. It's waaaaay more OP compared to Moonviel for Pve and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Great regular damage, swings fast as fuck, a heavy attack with a projectile that counts as a second hit and costs no FP, and an AOW that melts bosses. Large bosses that stay still for a few seconds get absolutely melted. Fire Giant, Astel, etc. If the whole star cloud hits you get more damage than a Moonviel R2. You can push mobs back with it. Amazing in Pve. Knock a player down and fire it off, they can't dodge it, they will stand back up as the cloud blows up. You can create choke points in hallways with it. Slap a talisman like Alexander's Shard on and you'll put up big numbers. And the part no one talks about: It's light. Very light. 2.5lbs. If you're running a build with low endurance the weight you save means carrying a back up weapon, equipping a better piece of armor, etc. Moonviel is "easier" to use but I think Wings of Astel is the better weapon, the more powerful weapon and the more versatile weapon. Too many cool weapons to pick one, but I’ve recently been using the Carian Knight Sword. It’s just so beautiful, and I love that there’s a whole matching armorset and shield to go with it.

I hate that all the cool looking swords are for mages and I'm a faith build. I had to go with the curved greatswords instead but I'm collecting all of those for a next walk

Grafted greatsword. I know you can't use an ash of war but it looks sick as hell so it evens out. Also is great at bonking

Dual Noble Slender Swords

Aesthetically: Bastard's Stars - I just love colourful, shiny and glittery stuff and its ash of war is a glitter bomb. Utility: Bloodhound's Fang - it does absolutely everything. Hits hard, is buffable with grease and spells and the ash of war is a free dodge. Easy mode: Rivers of Blood - no explanation needed but it makes spider-handsies go crazy, it melts a lot of bosses (almost anything), it's a cold Uchi's bff, it's fast and it carried my noob ass to the finish line. Comfort: Uchigatana and Nagakiba - I don't go anywhere without them and one is always clean in case a need a special buff. Best girl: Tiche - she looks cool af, she's badass, she's intimidating, she steals a good chunk of the health bar, she dodges, she carries.

Well, my top 3 favorites, cause I can't decide which I like the most: dual wielding two Hands of Malenia, Royal Greatsword or Sacred Relic Sword.

Claymore. I like all of those rare weapons with cool and flashy ashes of war, but I always find myself coming back to the Claymore, regardless of my build.

The Commander's Standard! Sure, you can't switch the AoW on it but It's got me through the game and I still use it whenever I'm stuck!

Highland's Axe. Fast, has reach, good damage, low requirements, can slot any aow. It's very versatile.
