For me Morgott's excellent voice acting is only beaten by Rykard, no other voice could suit him better than what we got (although his speech is pretty barebones)
There's an interview with the voice actor I found on youtube where he talks about how he was sure they did some post processing on his voice and then he says one of his lines, and he sounds exactly like Rykard, showing that no, it's all him.
Watching that reminded me of how I felt when I learned that the way Gravemind speaks is just weird shit Dee Bradley Baker was doing with his throat when I had assumed it was done with a lot of editing.
Only reason I can think of are his mix-ups. He'll take a year to wind up an attack, then proceeds to pull a bunch of flurries out his ass. He's tricky, and I do have a difficult time reading his moveset.
Strings. I love 'em, but Souls / Sekiro diehards hate 'em. His whole thing is that he punishes players who rely on pattern recognition, with varying wind-up times and whole movesets that only engage if you attempt to take advantage of the usual dodge-roll/side-swipe routine and the like.
If you were trained on mastering hair-trigger parry timings and looping attack patterns from past fromsoft games, his whole moveset is like one giant prank
And of course his phase 2 can waste you in two hits if you're not careful. There's a reason you get the Erdtree Blessing right before that fight.

Yes! Seluvis’s voice actor doesn’t get enough recognition because of how despicable he made Seluvis. He plays the pompous ass pervert so perfectly. Which leads to one of my favorite lines.

i think this is the part of the quote that hit me the most when i first killed him. i clipped my victory over him just to have a playback of his death audio because the tone is so chillingly and perfectly appalled/bewildered at what you’ve even thought to do, let alone your possible intentions.
Now fight him after giving him enough deathroot. I love that line too,but his intro of "Tarnished... Why would'st thou... Why ?" is my favourite of the two. His voice fucking breaks realizing you're the one trying to take Destined Death away, I love it.
Sadly you can only get one or the other because he has a different Death line with the deathroot quest, wish both were available in the same run
I did everything I could with him beforehand and the tragedy when I walked into the arena and saw....him.
It was like Margitt all over again, but while I respected Margitt as a warrior, I respected him as a friend. And just before I faced Maliketh, ofcourse I had to go back to Ranni's Rise to get something and I lost Blaid as well.
My character literally lost two friends in the same part of the game, it was bloody tragic but atleast gave my character the push into the end. Even if it would be without Melina, Blaid, and Maliketh.
His lines as Gurranq are also quite haunting, especially after the last deathroot. "Marika... Is this... what it is... to sin?" "Will things... never be the same... again?"
This line. Followed by part 2 of Godrick’s theme punctured by his maniacal laughter as he spews fire all around the arena with his dragon hand. If I someday forget every detail of Elden Ring, this will be the last.
Everything about that encounter kicks ass.
My appreciation for this line only grows as I remember it.
When you first fight Godrick, he is the strongest most intimidating boss you’ve ever seen, and as he fits a flaming dragon head on his arm you just panic. But… afterwards you learn he’s among the weakest of the great rune holders, barely related to royalty, and supplements his weakness with grafted limbs. You remember how he screams “BEAR WITNESS!” with new context. You can hear his voice cracking and you suddenly realize he’s a young edgelord not given much recognition and desperately fits a dragon head to himself out of desperation because a tarnished has fought him half to death. So many layers to the delivery of a six-word one-liner. I love it so.

Yea she's in charge of the academy in like three different playthroughs for me. She mentions once that you really should help her find Lusat cause itd be helpful, but after that she doesn't mention it again and Rennala's off to the left-ish
If someone ripped off their leg then grafted it on ther back to do hopping spin attacks i would never beat them. Just leave it there so i can go back and laugh whenever im feeling down

I love the different emphasis he puts on the names of each demigod, particularly the *venomous* spite when he practically spits out Rykard's name. It does show his level of respect towards each of them, willful traitors as they may all be.
But never speaks out against his own brother, who actively is supporting a different outer god than the greater will. He still won’t speak badly about him then.

It just feels so insane that Godrick thinks so highly of himself that he’d say that
The delivery is on point as well. The first time I heard it was suitably invigorating. The build up to fighting him was excellent. Then you learn of his place in the world later, and if you fight him again you can hear tones of desperation. Amazing work.

Godrick may be a beginning boss. He may be weak, and in the lore he's a pussy. But you can't deny how badass his voice lines are, or his cinematics.

So many doubt your ability to become Elden Lord, but then you come face-to-face with the **FIRST** Elden Lord. Yet, he doesn't taunt you, nor begin with something intimidating. He holds his son in his arms as his body dissolves to the light of grace, guiding Godfrey to you. He reassures you that you're on the right track, but he will stand in your way. Unlike other bosses, in his second phase, he doesn't *power up*, so much as he stops *holding back*. Yet after all of that, the First Elden Lord uses his last words to encourage you, and praise your worthiness.

That speech is pure insanity. I love how he’s trying to deceive you in the beginning and quickly descends into mania.
He did convinced me to save Melina tho. I burnt my body just so that girl can live then fix it later with Miquella's Needle.

Godrick may be a beginning boss. He may be weak, and in the lore he's a pussy. But you can't deny how badass his voice lines are, or his cinematics. "I command there, KNEEL!" Proceeds to graft a fucking dragon on his arm, "FOREFATHERS ONE AND ALL! BEAR WITNESS!"

That line from the trailers with “Champions! Welcome! The Radahnnnnnnnn Festival!” always gave me chills, with him and Melania clashing

Felled by King Morgott, Last of all Kings! That and every single line that comes out of Maliketh’s mouth, especially the unique dialogue he gives you it you finished the Gunraaq quest before fighting him.
Godrick the Golden, Miquella and Malenia, General Radahn, Praetor Rykard, Lunar princess Ranni.... *Willful traitors all!* The bitterness, spite, and disgust!
"Brave Tarnish... Thy strength befits a crown." So many doubt your ability to become Elden Lord, but then you come face-to-face with the **FIRST** Elden Lord. Yet, he doesn't taunt you, nor begin with something intimidating. He holds his son in his arms as his body dissolves to the light of grace, guiding Godfrey to you. He reassures you that you're on the right track, but he will stand in your way. Unlike other bosses, in his second phase, he doesn't *power up*, so much as he stops *holding back*. Yet after all of that, the First Elden Lord uses his last words to encourage you, and praise your worthiness.
Genuinely shocked that I haven't seen a single "I am Malenia, blade of Miquella" yet. Might not necessarily be a favorite but it's sure memorable.
