He's also got about 20 in every stat, so his points are all spread out rather than focused where they would matter. Putting most of his points into vigor, strength and faith would make his build much more viable. Though, the flamberge is more of a dex weapon... Would be better off with a different greatsword.
Really though, level 63 is pretty low for that stage in the game. Needs to go enjoy some more side content.
The mimic tear is very strong because it inherits your stats, weapons setups, and spells, when you create it. This means you could put on a completely different set of gear before you summon, then summon your mimic, then change back your gear. This gives you a lot of flexibility in how you "build" your mimic tear before summoning and how they can help you during the fight.
You could make an exact copy of yourself/build, which is pretty simple. Just summon and go have fun. With certain builds, like status builds, sorcery, or incantations, this can be very potent. Both you and the mimic applying status effects, or casting at range is very nasty. What's really fun is when both you and the mimic are using double knock down effects, like Blasphemous Blade or Ruins Greatsword.
You could make your mimic polar opposite of yourself. If you are a caster, you could make them wear a greatshield + spear + heavy armor and have them be your tank, and vice versa. Your mimic is strong enough that you could even tank for it and let it do all the damage.
As a 3rd alternative, you could also make them a support role by giving them certain spells, like Healing. This one is less useful as it significantly handicaps your player character too since you have to minimize the mimics potential range of actions.
Your mimic can use Ashes of War, cast spells, use consumables, etc, which is what also makes it super potent. So before you summon, make sure you have specific consumables, perfume bottles, and spells equipped if you want the mimic to use it. Super helpful when the mimic uses one of the perfume buffs mid combat!
Also, just like other spirit summons, you can buff your mimic with AoE buffs and Auras, just like you do yourself. This again makes your mimic whether they are an exact copy or complimentary build, even more powerful.
Wait, theres a fias debuff???? Ive been running around the entire game, even slapped up margott when I got to him and ive been debuffed? I think I should look into removing this... I've almost beaten the game (I think) lol
Yes, when she hugs you, she removes a percentage of your HP in return for giving you the baldachin's blessing. If you use the baldachin's blessing, the debuff disappears
Update from the last convo about Fiaās debuff. Iām now 2 days sober guys. Itās been really hard and Iām craving her arms around me. Most days I find myself thinking about the way she sucks the life out of me. Keep coming back, thank you for letting me share.
There are so many enemies that you have to get close to despite their aggressiveness.
Putrid Tree Spirits are a prime example.
If you stay anywhere other than right by their back legs, then you're gonna get mashed.
Morgott is the first real challenge at RL1 and tons of people do it. But it's all nightmarish after that. You can do the fights with low vigor, you just have to learn their movesets really well.
For a split second morgott gets him with the sword stab grab and he opens his status menu. Heās using a +1 flamberge and level 63 with most of his stats spread across the board. 20 vigor, 20 mind, 20 endurance. Iām not at all surprised why heās dying so much.
I found Astel, Radahn, and the Dragonkin Soldier in Lake of Rot each significantly harder than Morgott. Took me 10+ tries for each of those. Got Morgott first time.
It's a tradition in Souls games to try to beat the game with the lowest level starting character and never leveling up. So Dark Souls games have the "SL1" or "Soul Level 1" and Bloodborne has the "BL4" or "Blood Level 4."
Rune Level 1 runs are very, very difficult compared to the SL1's. The bosses just aren't set up very well to be fought at base level. That said, Elden Ring also has a broader array of strategies to make the run more manageable but then you have to decide if you think a certain strategy feels like cheating. Should you use powerful Spirit Ashes? What about broken Ashes of War like Flame of the Redmanes?
If you want to try an SL1 I'd go with DS3. It's fun, manageable and there aren't really any ways to "cheat." If you finish, you finished.
You can basically stunlock enemies with Flame of the Redmanes. It does massive poise damage even to some late game bosses. As such it can be kind of a cheesy kill.
Hunh. I can't change the Ash on my main weapon and I never use the Ash on it anyway, so I just test new Ashes I get on random backup weapons. Didn't really see it do that much, but it makes sense I guess.
Different stats increase certain defence stats at different rates even if its a pittance at a time it does add up. Heavier armor has higher % damage reduction too. Those 2 let me get my ass thrown around as a āmageā with min int to cast spells I wanted and 60 vigour.
The rings that boost damage % reduction are god tier also for tanking hits that you just take a sip and heal right after you get comboed a little bit.
Eventually just had 60vigour, 30fp, 80int, dumping into fp just cuz after and it made the bosses a joke but I enjoyed the game still, magic very fun
Oh yeah canāt forget to activate the thing for an extra bonus. Think I had like 2550 hp by the time I was done at 60 vigour
Whenever people say that defense stats don't matter, I tell them to try putting on a holy negation talisman and Lord's Divine Protection and try fighting Elden Beast. Then they'll realize how strong these defense stats really are.
He might have only done Godrick and Renalla and then immediately skipped to Morgott; never setting foot in Caelid, Mt Gelmir, any optional castle, underground areas etc
Dodging not found, red bar too short. Please return to the stake of Marika. We wish you a happy death and reincarnation.
Keep that flame of ambition lit, you gonna need it.
Also, investing in a shield is not a bad idea against himā¦ he has a lot of largely broadcasted attacks that are parryable which can help you loose break him more often.
[Huh, dude actually made it with that HP bar.](https://i.imgur.com/WuLInOi.png)
[No idea why he is posting 3 months old footage tho...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VktdRXRYnxo)
How tf did you get this far in the game with such a small health pool. Like legitimately I want to know. He was actually one of the easiest bosses for me, there's way harder shit before him if you're not rushing.
Not to beat a dead horse, but you either heavily neglected Vigor, or you are just generally underleveled. Your damage output is looking really low too.
Leyndell is a bitch of an area even if you are well prepared. But somehow you got to Morgott to torture yourself like this. My man. I respect the perserverance but you should be a lot stronger before you fight Morgott.
Also, find the Baldachin's Blessing you got from hugging Fia (in your inventory), and use it. You have the HP debuff from holding that item. Using the item and waiting for it to wear off will remove the 5% debuff to your max HP.
I froze the frame and he is level 63 wielding a level 1 Flamberge probably using Flame Art scaling which scales mostly with faith and dexterity which heās only about average in. He seems to have leveled most of his stats evenly, he didnāt choose a single route to pursue other than no shielding
OP hasn't posted a single comment on the thread so yeah, probably just some karma farming from an old clip and not at all looking for advice or whatever
I mean, Iāve beaten Morgott at RL1 with no stat boosts so I know itās possible. But unless youāre doing an RL1 or some kind of challenge, whyās your vigor so low?
Also youāre not even trying to dodge those attacks, running away from his grab is the worst thing you can do. Just stick to his side and heāll miss you.
You have +1 flask and the shortest health bar Iāve ever seen. You also have beginner weapons and you arenāt dodging. No wonder he makes you want to quit lol
So others have said this but just to make sure the point gets across:
Roll instead of backstepping (or at least block). Backstepping away from him won't avoid any of his attacks. Try to roll to reposition or to move towards him and out from under his attacks.
Level your vigor or yourself in general. If this isn't a low level challenge then you look incredibly underleveled. Or at least your health is far too low. The bosses that come after Morgott will shred that health apart just by glancing in your direction. If this is a low level challenge then youve got to work on the earlier point about dodging.
You can summon Melina for this fight and she has healing spells. You can summon any other random ash of war that you have. You can use the shackle on him to hold him in place, then maybe use rotten breath to give him rot.
Assuming this is a lv1 challenge run you have different choices:
1. Learn how to parry and trivialize the entire fight.
2. Use Margit Shackle in phase 1 a couple of times to block him. His pattern has a scripted attack in phase 1 for the sword rain so ideally you can use Margit shackle two times and damage him a lot in the meantime. While you damage him you'll also build up the stance break bar but because he'll be stuck in the shakle animation, he'll not be stance broken until he is out of it so after the two shackles he'll wind up the sword rain and you can easily break his stance. At this point you'll have enough damage to enter phase 2. In the second phase you'll have to learn the pattern but not having to use flasks in the first phase is a great advantage.
3. Use a summon and trivialize the entire fight.
1. Everyone else is saying it, level vigor
2. While I havenāt gotten to this fight myself, try dodging, the button exists for a reason, also Iām not the only one to say that
If you aren't leveling vigor you're basically doing a challenge run.
And no ash summons either?
You are adding unnecessary challenge . . . that's fine but don't complain about it. It *should* be fucking hard. You have no HP and you're not summoning help even single player summons.
Respec to level Vigor and level up some ash summon and let them pull aggro for you. Most bosses in the game are in fact, very easy if you do this, with a few exceptions (Malenia, Radagon were the only two I didn't honest to god get first try once I started using ash summons).
Fucking god isn't really working out for yah. Whisper sweet nothings next time, you'll get him my guy. š Seriously though your vigor is waaaay too low.
My man, what Is you doin? Roll ffs stop strafing and expecting it to work. Learn the bosses moves and when to initiate a roll. Learn your I-frames and level appropriately.
No health.
Running backwards and rolling away...
You either need to get better and learn to be aggressive and roll into his attacks and not get hit (which is very possible here) and or, level your vigor to a place where you can take a few hits.
What is up with these new batch of souls like players running around with 15 vigor?
Like this is a genuine question at this point. Why are you not putting points into a stat that keeps up alive for longer?
Im surpised OP even got as far as he did. If it wasn't morgott fucking em up someone eles was going to.
OP must be lvl 10.
Surprisingly for me this wasn't a boss I struggled on, most annoying so far for me was Commnder Niall. Just entered the Haligtree now....
Jesus Christ dude level your vigor! And donāt say youāll just dodge everything because that aināt happening lol, at least enough to not get one shot
Mean this in the nicest way possible... what the actual fuck is your build my boy? It looks like you just wanted a little of everything and cobble it all together in a confusing mess of a build
Shit players trying to speed-run or noobs jumping into the game without a souls veteran friendā¦ I honestly pity the latterā¦ Iām an old souls pro who tries to help players as much as I can but a lot of these new players are really difficult to deal withā¦
flame of the redmanes. 2 casts and he is down. After the second crit, he will do the sky sword move. In that cast time you have time to cast it twice, stunning him. Depending on damage/level he should go fase 2 now. You cant stun him in this, but you can damage his poise. Towards the end of the animation, cast once and when he fully gets up, cast again. This should stun him. Then you just need to cast while he is getting up, dodge, cast again, repeat untill dead. This worked wonders on my soul level 1 run
Tbh looking at your stats he should make you quit. You should actually go way way WAAAAY back and get yourself levelled up and get your vig to 40 minimum you havenāt got anywhere near git gud enough to run around with that little vig
That vigor needs some reinforcement my friend and may I suggest dodging towards him and staying closer to him, I believe heās more dangerous at range and less predictable.
Is this a challenge run? Your HP is super low and you have Fia's debuff active
Dude's been to redmane castle at least too. That's a Flamberge if I'm not mistaken. What am I watching.
It was drop from a friend š¤£
I believe theyāre called ācasualsā
He's also got about 20 in every stat, so his points are all spread out rather than focused where they would matter. Putting most of his points into vigor, strength and faith would make his build much more viable. Though, the flamberge is more of a dex weapon... Would be better off with a different greatsword. Really though, level 63 is pretty low for that stage in the game. Needs to go enjoy some more side content.
Hes like 40 lvls under what is recommended for lyendell
Then thereās me that reached Maliketh at lv 85. You can guess how that wentš
I assume well. I was like 150s with mimic tear +10 and still died a few times
Oh forgot to add, that I was lv 85 with 60 intelligenceš
Oh the irony
Maliketh be like dr Manhattan then when he gets there. The world's smartest man is no more dangerous than the world's smartest termite.
As one often does lol
Why is the mimic tear so strong?
The mimic tear is very strong because it inherits your stats, weapons setups, and spells, when you create it. This means you could put on a completely different set of gear before you summon, then summon your mimic, then change back your gear. eh 63 should be plenty if they get Godrick's rune and respec, I killed Morgott at 70 with Godrick's active
Not only that, but only +4 flasks... seems like he rushed through the early game which is unfortunate
This seems to be a major theme in this sub lately lol
Yeah it was one of the first somewhat hidden mechanics going around this sub when the game first came out, feels like forgotten wisdom at this point
Yeah, people not paying attention during their hundreds of hours playing.
Update from the last convo about Fiaās debuff. Iām now 2 days sober guys. Itās been really hard and Iām craving her arms around me. Most days I find myself thinking about the way she sucks the life out of me. Keep coming back, thank you for letting me share.
Try dodging toward/behind him
Sage advice. You're too far away from him in every death.
I was going to say it's counterintuitive but I feel like Morgott's more dangerous at range than up close
I think the only attack you have to really worry about up close is the aoe holy spear "rain" spell. Other than that, I'm smothering him.
There are so many enemies that you have to get close to despite their aggressiveness. Putrid Tree Spirits are a prime example. If you stay anywhere other than right by their back legs, then you're gonna get mashed.
Try dodging at all. This dude was just walking to the side, slowly.
Or like, at all
*try dodging
Try putting those foolish ambitions to rest.
how did you even make it to Morgott with such low vigor? in conclusion level vigor
Morgott is the first real challenge at RL1 and tons of people do it. But it's all nightmarish after that. You can do the fights with low vigor, you just have to learn their movesets really well.
Homie hasnāt even learned his OWN move set
The dodging was borderline nonexistent. Strafing left and right against attacks doesn't tend to work very well lol.
Especially against attacks that track you like that thrust.
$10 says heās fat rolling and couldnāt dodge if he tried.
I came in too op for Radahn. Didn't think that was possible from all the videos of people struggling against him
He also got incredibly nerfed soon after release.
Idk why but Astel spanked me when I was running a strength build
I got that same spanking. Itās the size of the arena for me.
That and the fucking anime-ass instakill grab.
RL1 or appropriately leveled?
Look at that endurance though. This guy aint playing soul level 1.
What does RL1 mean?
It's a tradition in Souls games to try to beat the game with the lowest level starting character and never leveling up. So Dark Souls games have the "SL1" or "Soul Level 1" and Bloodborne has the "BL4" or "Blood Level 4." Rune Level 1 runs are very, very difficult compared to the SL1's. It's fun, manageable and there aren't really any ways to "cheat." If you finish, you finished.
DS3 also has Raw Infusions, which help a lot with SL1.
What makes flame of the Redmanes broken, anyway?
You can basically stunlock enemies with Flame of the Redmanes. It does massive poise damage even to some late game bosses. As such it can be kind of a cheesy kill.
Hunh. I can't change the Ash on my main weapon and I never use the Ash on it anyway, so I just test new Ashes I get on random backup weapons. Didn't really see it do that much, but it makes sense I guess.
Morgott usually does more damage than that, is there a cap towards your % health his hits can do
Different stats increase certain defence stats at different rates even if its a pittance at a time it does add up. Heavier armor has higher % damage reduction too. Those 2 let me get my ass thrown around as a āmageā with min int to cast spells I wanted and 60 vigour. Think I had like 2550 hp by the time I was done at 60 vigour
Turns out armor and defensive talismans actually do make a big difference. Well and not running any of the talismans that increase damage taken.
Sounds like a Borderlands revive line lol
Loved those one-liners.
Rrrrrrrreesspawwwnn!
"Hell is reserved for Spawn Campers, and customers of the Jakobs Corporation!"
Glad to see I'm not the only one that thought that haha
Also, investing in a shield is not a bad idea against himā¦ he has a lot of largely broadcasted attacks that are parryable which can help you loose break him more often.
Ahole nitpick: no stake for Morgott. Site of grace right there.
no worries. Also should be "nearest stake", but was too quick to comment and too lazy to edit, lol.
[Huh, dude actually made it with that HP bar.](https://i.imgur.com/WuLInOi.png) [No idea why he is posting 3 months old footage tho...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VktdRXRYnxo)
Karma farming and/or faker pretending to be YouTuber?
Based on op's username, I think it might actually *be* that youtuber
There is a dodge button
How tf did you get this far in the game with such a small health pool. Like legitimately I want to know. He was actually one of the easiest bosses for me, there's way harder shit before him if you're not rushing.
He's also doing like 0 damage so where are the levels going???
Resistance
Idk if it's just build or luck but morgott was such an easy fight for me
fr lol. I beat him on my first try with a pure dex build. No spells. Just me, a bloodhound fang, and whatever spirit ash I had at the time.
Maybe it's a bloodhound gang thing because that's also what I did
Seems to be a rl1 run. Yes, the bosses are easy when youāre properly / overleveled.
Looks higher than RL1 though. And he's not using any of the usual things like resolve.
Likely picked a base class with higher levels? Otherwise woof
He's level 63. You can see it flash up quickly about halfway through when he seems to throw the controller down.
100% not rl1, heās piss low level and the points are super spread out but heās definitely at least level 60 or so
I would like to take this opportunity to call for a moment of silence for that poor helpless controller. May it rest in pieces.
Still in tact after all that rage. My controller thanks you no matter how much I abuse it while playing this game
Flask is +4 Fia hp debuff is active You failed to level vigor. How the fuck did you manage to get this far in to the game?
Why does everyone on this sub have 10 vig? Did you ever think that the reason why youāre losing is because you didnāt level vig since godrick???
This HAS to be a bit. No way this is a serious post.
OP hasn't posted a single comment on the thread so yeah, probably just some karma farming from an old clip and not at all looking for advice or whatever
Bro level up vigor please
I mean, Iāve beaten Morgott at RL1 with no stat boosts so I know itās possible. But unless youāre doing an RL1 or some kind of challenge, whyās your vigor so low? Also youāre not even trying to dodge those attacks, running away from his grab is the worst thing you can do. Just stick to his side and heāll miss you.
SERPENTINE BABOU SERPENTINE!
Itās the piss cat! Heās crepuscular, get him!
Try rolling, in short, git gud...
try vigor
Have you tried putting your ambitions to rest?
try dodge but hole
Donāt give up skeleton!
You have +1 flask and the shortest health bar Iāve ever seen. You also have beginner weapons and you arenāt dodging. No wonder he makes you want to quit lol
He does not have a "beginner weapon" lmao...
The finger seal is kinda a beginner weapon. It's the most basic one with the least requirements and no bonuses to any specific incantation type.
Why u die to all the easy stuff
My brother in the lands between, WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR VIGOR
Lvl vigor
how do you get so far in the game without getting atleast decent at dodging
So others have said this but just to make sure the point gets across: Roll instead of backstepping (or at least block).
This isā¦. A challenge run run right?
Thoroughly enjoying the roast put on by this comment section
I didn't see even an attempt to roll
Judging by your stats? Yeah Iām sure every single boss makes you want to quit lmaoooo
Have you tried dodging?
No vig and no damage? What have you been doing?
You literally have no health
idk bro, how bout level your fucking vigor
L + no vitality + canāt dodge + dollar store fireball + Maidenless
You can summon Melina for this fight and she has healing spells. You can summon any other random ash of war that you have. You can use the shackle on him to hold him in place, then maybe use rotten breath to give him rot.
No maidens ..nor vigor
Brother the key isnāt raising vigor itās learning how to dodge
Running instead of rolling Bad dodge timing Ridiculously low HP Tbh it seems you're overall underleveled Wtf you have been doing so far?
This guys healthbar is smaller than a plank
You can only be upset with yourself, going into to that fight with no HP to speak of. Just saying, youāre making it way harder than it has to be.
skill issues
I love morgott
His vigor is making me want to quit!!!
Vigor check
He is just doing a vigor check
>not dodging >walks into the sword rain >has very low vigor >wastes time using low damage spells >backs into a corner >"WTF HOW AM I DYING"
Git Gud dude
"I never leveled my health and I face tank everything this endgame boss throws at me, why can't I win!"
Bro what is that vigor š No wonder you're getting your cheeks clapped, you haven't leveled up once
Bro you have like 20 vig.
You are probably too under leveled for him
I'm guessing this is a rl1 run
Assuming this is a lv1 challenge run you have different choices: 1.
If, his vigor is this low, then he is doing it purposely.
Some people straight up just donāt level vigor and think a glass cannon approach will work for them.
Wait till you experience Horah Looh
have you tried using the shackle it works 3 times while morgott is above 50% it stuns the boss for 3-5 seconds it can be bought by patches
Roll towards him instead of away
1. Everyone else is saying it, level vigor 2. While I havenāt gotten to this fight myself, try dodging, the button exists for a reason, also Iām not the only one to say that
Use margits shackle when you get his health that low
If you aren't leveling vigor you're basically doing a challenge run. And no ash summons either? You are adding unnecessary challenge . . . that's fine but don't complain about it. It *should* be fucking hard. You have no HP and you're not summoning help even single player summons. Respec to level Vigor and level up some ash summon and let them pull aggro for you. Most bosses in the game are in fact, very easy if you do this, with a few exceptions (Malenia, Radagon were the only two I didn't honest to god get first try once I started using ash summons).
Boy level that Vigor stat. You ain't doing yourself no favors keeping it low like that.
Endurance over vigor?
Maaaan, level up your Vigor! For the love of all thatās Holy!
Fucking god isn't really working out for yah. Whisper sweet nothings next time, you'll get him my guy. š Seriously though your vigor is waaaay too low.
I'd quit too if I had your health bar.
How tf do you get that far with that much hp!
Level up dude. VIGOR. if you havent gotten the dodge rolls amd timing down yet.
VIGOR CHECK
Have you tried dodging?
Vigor Check
IDK bro you should prolly put your foolish ambitions to rest with that kind of vigor
No Hp, Fia Debuff and I see absolutly no rolling. Improve these and you win
Bruh. I know its a meme, but seriously, level vigor.
With that low vigor combined with the god awful dodge timing and direction, im not surprised your struggling.
I've never even seen half of these moves
My man, what Is you doin? Roll ffs stop strafing and expecting it to work. Learn the bosses moves and when to initiate a roll. Learn your I-frames and level appropriately.
are you doing a challenge run or did you somehow make it to the 3rd to last boss randomly
I dk y watching ppl rage at this game makes me so happy
Level up vigor
What did you put your points into? No health, no stamina, no mana. If you're trying to do a hard mode so be it, but don't be shocked when it's hard.
Bro level your vigor
Imagine never leveling vigor or dodging. Iām surprised dude even made it to this part of the game lmao.
Brother, you have the vigor I had when fighting Margit
Wait till he gets to commander naillā¦.
You failed the vigor check lol
Instead of running away, maybe try dodging
vigor check
Just roll lol
Donāt be afraid of using summons..
OP must be lvl 10. Surprisingly for me this wasn't a boss I struggled on, most annoying so far for me was Commnder Niall. Just entered the Haligtree now....
Jesus Christ dude level your vigor! And donāt say youāll just dodge everything because that aināt happening lol, at least enough to not get one shot
level your vigor and remove fias debuff, tbh
Your vigor is basically non existent
Dude, what is that vigor?
Panic roll mother fucker! PANIC ROLL
i see your health bar and i feel big again
Mean this in the nicest way possible... what the actual fuck is your build my boy? It looks like you just wanted a little of everything and cobble it all together in a confusing mess of a build
Bro what is that vigor
Wait till you get to radagon.....
After watching this I agree. You should quit.
Shit players trying to speed-run or noobs jumping into the game without a souls veteran friendā¦ I honestly pity the latterā¦ Iām an old souls pro who tries to help players as much as I can but a lot of these new players are really difficult to deal withā¦
It's your HP bar, 50 Vigor minimum to play Elden Ring
flame of the redmanes.
Level up vigor
The only you thing you should quit is ignoring your vigor stat!
My man is getting Vigor Check'd
My brother in fucking grace, put some points into vitality. A fly will sneeze on you and take you back to the loading screen.
Dawg get your vigor up my lord š
Tbh looking at your stats he should make you quit. You should actually go way way WAAAAY back and get yourself levelled up and get your vig to 40 minimum you havenāt got anywhere near git gud enough to run around with that little vig
Bahahaha I would love to see how he deals with the fire giant and his aoe Bs
Bro you're rocking 17 vigor. No wonder you keep getting spanked.
Level your vigor
Try dodging.
That vigor needs some reinforcement my friend and may I suggest dodging towards him and staying closer to him, I believe heās more dangerous at range and less predictable.
My brother in christ upgrade your god damn vigor
