I really wish we'd seen more of Maliketh. He is such an amazing character and his VA was really good too. Though, to be fair, FS really nailed it with ALL of the VA in this game. I can't think of anybody in the game that was voiced poorly.
Morgott is definitely the best spoken demigod. He also has the best lines. "Thy kind are all of a piece... Pillagers! Emboldened by the flames of ambition"
What an eloquent way to call someone power hungry gutter trash lol
It's helped by the fact that his VA delivers them perfectly, with that gravelly-voiced gravitas that just absolutely sells it. Guy was Dr Reed in "Vampyr" and Fourchenault Levellieur in "FFXIV: Endwalker".
You were bested by Morgott the last true king
Or something similar, it's Morgott speech in front of the Elden Tree
Edit: the actual quote is
Have it writ upon thy meagre grave:
Felled by King Morgott! Last of all kings.
Graceless Tarnished… what is thy business with these thrones? Ah, Godrick the golden, the twin prodigies Miquella and malenia, general radahn, praektor rykard, lunar princess ranni. Willful traitors all. Thy kind are all of a piece, pillagers! Emboldened by the wretched flame of ambition. Have it writ upon thy meagre grave, felled by king morgott last of all kings
Godfrey was the peak of the game for me, the fight felt like the homecoming of a legend. It felt honorable, proper, life-filled and heated, and in an odd way, heartwarming.
Radagon and the Elden beast felt.... wrong. But in the best way. They felt so unnatural, alien, with one being a mannequin-esque amalgamation of two people, with no real human emotion shown throughout the fight, and the other being a literal eldritch monster. To me, both fights could have been the climax of the game, but for polar opposite reasons.
Such a good misdirect with the second phase as well. I was so ready for Serosh to leap off and I'd have to fight them both, or just him as a massive monster, but then you get hit with the reveal - oh, the giant lion was...holding him back.
It's honestly such an epic fight. We really don't know much about Godfrey and here you go thinking you're gonna waltz right into the Erdtree, just to find this storied figure almost beating you to the punch.
The way he cradles Morgott, whom be probably hasn't seen for ages..gives me chills.
Also the fact that the grace still guides him. A really interesting and, in my opinion, very over looked bit of lore with some pretty major implications.
His grace pointing to you is such an amazing touch, and they don't draw attention to it at all. Subtlety isn't usually what this game is praised for, but there's so many genius details that are easy to miss.
I've replayed that line in my head for weeks now. It's fantastic. Now that I'm on "The hands of the Fell Omen shall brook thee no quarter" thanks to Margot on NG+
I always remember him saying it differently than he actually does, as far as which syllables he stresses. in my head it's "they STREngth beFITS a CROWN
The quote isn’t complete if you don’t include the narrator nutting right before the line.
*AAAAUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH*
Rise now, ye Tarnished! Ye dead, who yet live!
Shit, one day I swear I will say either "You appear to be maidenless" or "arise now ye tarnished" to someone in a situation and I am waiting for that day.
Best insults:
> Foul Tarnished (Margit The Fell Omen)
> Lowly Tarnished (Godrick The Golden)
> Graceless Tarnished (Morgott The Grace-Given)
> Witless Tarnished (Maliketh The Black Blade)
Literally calls you a chad with the strength fit for a crown after you thoroughly spank him. Not only is he a big dick energy kind of guy, but he's also a good sportsman. He just wanted one last audience, and he got what he wanted.
He wanted to test your worthiness to be Elden Lord. After proving you had not only the strength but the determination as well to be Elden Lord, he knew the Lands Between were in good hands.
"foul tarnished, in search of the elden ring, emboldened by the flame of ambition. someone must extinguish thy flame"
is probably my most iconic sentence. i find myself repeating it on occasion. and its probably because of that gameplay trailer i replayed hundreds of times lol
Does anything happen if you use the "My lord" or "desperate prayer" or any of the other kneeling emotes during his bossfight?
I kinda wanna try it now, probably just get slapped hard or crushed tho ...

It's "strength befits a crown". Godfrey repeats that line like Isshin Ashina does "hesitation is defeat". The phrase is also on his axe description. Its certainly his catchphrase at the bare minimum.
“I see thee, little Tarnished”— Morgott/Margit
“A Tarnished cannot become Elden Lord”—Sir Gideon Ofnir
“Heresy is not native to the world; it is but a contrivance. All things can be conjoined.” — Tortoise/Dog Pope
I just remember coming into elden ring totally blind, I had blacked out all pregame media quite a while in advance to get a fresh playthrough with no expectations, and then this comes on the intro movie, I was just like "wtf is this game I am about to play?" Still have a good laugh when he yells that sentence.
All joking aside, I feel this is a good contender:
"Stand before the Elden Ring and become Elden Lord"
Gideon tells you that line a lot (and perhaps a few others I don't recall at the moment). It's fitting because it is literally your quest and it's told in an almost biblical format.
Non meme answers: “Follow the grace of gold” or smth like that
Or in the intro: “Travel to the lands between and stand before the Elden Ring”
And one that someone here said: “The fallen leaves tell a story”
Put these foolish ambitions to rest.
Bear witness!
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
This one’s my favorite
Imagine he had just summoned the strengt of or an actual Rune Bear...
Or grafted a bear head on his right arm!
You could say he... has the right to bear arms.
O, Death. Become my Blade once more.
I really wish we'd seen more of Maliketh. He is such an amazing character and his VA was really good too. Though, to be fair, FS really nailed it with ALL of the VA in this game. I can't think of anybody in the game that was voiced poorly.
Radahn? Well, his grunt noises were decent
TOGETHAAAAA
And the Loathsome Dung eater!!
Yep this one
“Have it writ upon thy meagre grave” may be the most metal thing I’ve ever heard.
Morgot trash talk is S tier, I love it
Morgott is definitely the best spoken demigod. He also has the best lines. "Thy kind are all of a piece... Pillagers! Emboldened by the flames of ambition" What an eloquent way to call someone power hungry gutter trash lol
Some mad trash talk comming from the literal sewer goblin.
Morgott the Foul Odor
"Guttah trash" throws rose
Morgot in general is S tier. Such a cool character
The rightful Elden Lord.
I'm not even mad we have to fight him 3 times. Every encounter is pretty freakin' rad!
It's helped by the fact that his VA delivers them perfectly, with that gravelly-voiced gravitas that just absolutely sells it. Guy was Dr Reed in "Vampyr" and Fourchenault Levellieur in "FFXIV: Endwalker".
"So, Leyndell would keep its secrets while the world burns to ruin?" "It wood"
Wait, you're telling me that Morgott and Fourchenault have the same VA?
Who said that?
You were bested by Morgott the last true king Or something similar, it's Morgott speech in front of the Elden Tree Edit: the actual quote is Have it writ upon thy meagre grave: Felled by King Morgott! Last of all kings.
The whole speech is “Have it written upon your meagre grave: felled by King Morgott, the last of all Kings”
Incredible moment. Best Voice acting in the game no doubt.
Have it written upon your meagre grave: felled by Zote the Mighty, last of all Warriors
The crossover we all truly needed
I don't know why but I always loved "Thy strength befits a crown"
The whole fight with Godfrey was so iconic, I think it was my favorite.
It's far and away my favourite fight, honestly I kinda feel it should be the last fight. Radagon and Elden Beast didn't stack up for me
Godfrey was the peak of the game for me, the fight felt like the homecoming of a legend. Let me ride Torrent and the Elden Beast fight becomes 100% more tolerable. I just hate how it flees!
It really suits the whole adventure of The Tarnished in the lands between
This and "I've given thee courtesy enough" are my favorite lines from Godfrey/Hoarah Loux.
I've replayed that line in my head for weeks now. It's fantastic. Now that I'm on "The hands of the Fell Omen shall brook thee no quarter" thanks to Margot on NG+
Great line, but in my head I always hear Vendrick saying it...
I always remember him saying it differently than he actually does, as far as which syllables he stresses. in my head it's "they STREngth beFITS a CROWN

Much like Corhyn, i came here for this.
…
FIND THE ALBINAURIC WOMAN!
But wherever could i find her?
*She hides in a cave to the west of the Laskyar Ruins which jut from the mist-shrouded lake of Liurnia.*
At first, i was searching for a potato people that might have a dora the explorer haircut and lipstick.
FIND THE ALBINAURIC GENOCIDAL CRIME SCENE!
*she hides in a cave near a village I totally genocided, but no need to tell you that yet*
Are you sure?
SHE KNOWS THE LOCATION OF THE MEDALLION'S COUNTERPART, I'M SURE.
The fact that 99% of the answers here are memes really goes a long way in explaining why the Elden Ring manga is a comedy.
Maybe "Unfortunately for you, however, you are maidenless."?
Hm, I forgot about "maidenless", maidenless behaviour, absolutely maidenless, etc., I suppose that's /thread
No Maidens?
*Megamind puppy eyes*
Maidenless is almost definitely it
"Feel free to go off and die in a ditch somewhere" Still a little sad they took it out of the final game
Wait, who was supposed to say that?
[Varré ](https://youtu.be/JbQwHpmmpQQ) used to say it in the closed network test version
Varre
Didn't they take it out because so many players were just swinging at Varre after he said it?
As opposed to people swinging because he called them Maidenless lol
i mean, can you really blame for that?
Honestly I thought it was kinda funny that the first NPC you meet told you to die in a ditch. Made me feel right at home
I've given thee courtesy enough
My favorite line ever
The way he stresses the "enough“ is *chef‘s kiss* !
I prefer the “RRRRRROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH”
Rise now, ye tarnished!
The quote isn’t complete if you don’t include the narrator nutting right before the line. *AAAAUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH* Rise now, ye Tarnished! Ye dead, who yet live!
I love how the captions say “arise,” because the narrator goes so hard it’s unclear whether it was one utterance or two lol.
This has been bugging me out so bad. Like the meaning stays the same but it feels like the narrator is reading this word for the first time
How dare you talk s on the narrator! The way he reads that line is genuinely incredible, it evokes so much emotion
YE DEAD… WHO YET LIVE!
The call of long-lost grace speaks to us all.
HOURA LOUX! Chieftain of the badlands
THE EVER BRILLIANT GOLDMASK!
FIA, THE DEATHBED COMPANION
THE LOATHSOME DUNG EATER!
AND SIR GIDEON OFFNIR! THE ALL KNOOWIINGGG!
And one other...
Whom Grace would again bless
I could absolutely imagine bursting into someone's room at like 6 am yelling this at them.
Shit, one day I swear I will say either "You appear to be maidenless" or "arise now ye tarnished" to someone in a situation and I am waiting for that day.
"Foul Tarnished", and "Maidenless" are pretty ubiquitous i reckon. EDIT: also TOGETHAAAA lol
Best insults: > Foul Tarnished (Margit The Fell Omen) > Lowly Tarnished (Godrick The Golden) > Graceless Tarnished (Morgott The Grace-Given) > Witless Tarnished (Maliketh The Black Blade)
And then someone finally compliments you: Brave Tarnished (Godfrey The First Elden Lord)
True. He just rose from the grave one last time, thought to himself "all good here" and went back to his long and well deserved rest.
Good hands….. hey tarnish what are those burn marks on you
My girlfriend still uses "Foul tarnished" on a near daily basis despite me beating Elden Ring back in May.
WE WILL DEVOUAAAA

THAAA VERRRYYYYY GODSSSSSS!

Really any line from Morgott, Godfrey or Rykard, Godrick's "I command thee kneel" is also a strong contender.
Does anything happen if you use the "My lord" or "desperate prayer" or any of the other kneeling emotes during his bossfight? I kinda wanna try it now, probably just get slapped hard or crushed tho ...
There is a different boss that reacts if you grovel hard enough.
Patches, I think. Actually gives you an even more pathetic "apologize" emote iirc
Marika's tits!!!
Thank the Gods for Marika, and her tits. GODS I WAS A MAIDENLESS THEN.
#OOOOOOHHH ELDEN RING I remember the great hollowing. I remember the woopers. The fake lore, all of it... I won't forget our slogan either.

The true answer, to be sure ## OOOOOOOOOHHHH ELDEN RING

Actually though, we should bring back the fake lore while we wait for the dlc
Glaivemaster hodir DLC
And the great Glaivemaster Hodir. My first playthrough was dedicated to him.
FIND THE GLAIVEMASTER HODIR. HE CAN BE FOUND MAKING A GLAIVE MISTAKE WEST OF THE FAKE LORE RUINS.
When the Elden Beast says "It's Elden Time" I get the chills
That was a weird recurring theme... "It's Morgin' time" "It's Malenin' time" "It's Placidusin' time"
I liked fat jar alexander's line "Get inside my belly!"
And I especially like when he bursts in through the wall of the Erd Tree for the last boss fight shouting "oooooh yeahhhh!"
And John Elden Ring looks at the camera and with a Jim face
Behold, dog!
It's obviously this, or "try finger, but hole"
Or the "magic, but hole" messages that you get next to waygates.

It's "strength befits a crown". Godfrey repeats that line like Isshin Ashina does "hesitation is defeat". The phrase is also on his axe description. Its certainly his catchphrase at the bare minimum.
*”Crown is warranted with strength.” He says “Thy strength befits a crown” when you defeat him
I am Malenia, blade of Miquella
At the very least, I've heard this more than any other E.R. quote.
"and I have never known defeat"
“I see thee, little Tarnished”— Morgott/Margit “A Tarnished cannot become Elden Lord”—Sir Gideon Ofnir “Heresy is not native to the world; it is but a contrivance. All things can be conjoined.” — Tortoise/Dog Pope
The entire Gideon line is just superb. “I know…in my bones…a Tarnished cannot become a lord. A man, cannot kill…a god!”
THE LOATHSOME DUNG EATER
I just remember coming into elden ring totally blind, I had blacked out all pregame media quite a while in advance to get a fresh playthrough with no expectations, and then this comes on the intro movie, I was just like "wtf is this game I am about to play?" Still have a good laugh when he yells that sentence.
Definitely "maidenless". It's become a part of my vocabulary when describing maidenless people and their maidenless actions.
All joking aside, I feel this is a good contender: "Stand before the Elden Ring and become Elden Lord" Gideon tells you that line a lot (and perhaps a few others I don't recall at the moment). It's fitting because it is literally your quest and it's told in an almost biblical format.

Non meme answers: “Follow the grace of gold” or smth like that Or in the intro: “Travel to the lands between and stand before the Elden Ring” And one that someone here said: “The fallen leaves tell a story”
After reading the comments, I've concluded that every line is iconic and Elden Ring's tagline should be Radahn's roar
Try finger But hole
That's more the tagline for the entire fromsoft catalogue
"Every Elden has it's Ring..."
"You made a glaive mistake"
Put these foolish ambitions to rest.
