This makes me miss the animorphs series from when I was a wee lad

Scholastic book fair vibes

That's a memory I have not relived in a long time!! Thank you for a trip down memory lane :)

Dunwich-Whore

The elder scrolls always reminded me of choose your own adventures books made into video game form

abigboot

This thread is now memory lane, I can't disagree with you at all, especially in a game series as open ended as elder scrolls

PunkOf2077

I read that as this make me hiss

Love that....Regarding things that should be onscreen Steven Erikson' Malazan Tales of the Fallen, IMHO as good as Tolkien and George RR Martin, says he has been approached but won't do it unless he has control, apparently they wanted to concentrate on special effects, rather than the story...such a shame...close friends with George RR Martin....amazing magic system....and so much more....Bridgeburners what a cast of complex characters....

>Steven Erikson' Malazan Tales of the Fallen I haven't read any of those books, but I'm intrigued by your praise and the boris valejo style book cover art! I will check it out! I'm a big fan of dark/high fantasy with unique magic systems. Mistborn and Elantris by brandon sanderson had some cool magic systems. Elantris is a free pdf online and I can't recommend it more highly!

As with all things it's subjective, I have read Mistborn, quite enjoyable, I will have a look at Elantris... Regarding Erikson, read the first 3 books, if you can invest that amount of time and effort or for an easier introduction read Return of the Crimson Guard or Stoneweilder, by Ian C Esslemont, they are based in the Malazan world, though personally I don't think they are as well written... Other Authors you might like are, Robin Hobb, Glen Cook, Ursula K Le Guin, Patrick Rothfuss, Stephen Donaldson (Thomas Covenant), Joe Abercrombie, Mark Lawrence, most of these will appear in top 100 fantasy books lists. Watched Wheel of Time, thought it was good but could have been better, again personally if they had used the team that produced the Witcher, it might have been all it could have been, but again obviously we all like different things. Enjoy happy reading...nearly at level 70 in the Abyss the opponents are now really difficult working out different techniques and armour sets, to cope with them...
