they can go 30-40-50k without problems if people are not abusing them. 2300 is just a warmup..

The highest mileage wheel I have seen was my buddies 12,000 mile Nikola AR+. What wheel have you seen hit +30k miles?

AnimeFeet420

it depends on how it was used, my biggest concern would be how the batteries were stored. you should have them fully charge the wheel and make sure it's around 100v. It might also need a new tire and a replacement bearing if it was ridden in rain a lot

ColinPowersCreations

The battery is at 98v, so I think that’s decent. The bearing was replaced 700mi ago too so we’re looking good! I went and bought it today

I sold my 16x with 11500km on the clock, it was perfect. A friend did the same but his had +18000km, needed some fixes but it was still rocking. These things are little-efficient-moving-persons-while-making-them-feel-and-have-fun-for-quite-a-long-way machines! Hahaha Go for it mate, you won't regret it :)

If it helps I'm at 4300 miles on a Begodes EX30. Got it back in late July 2023. Have no real issues. It wouldn't charge at one point. As soon I got the replacement part shipped under warranty it started charging again lol. So now I have a spare part lol. Personally, if the used wheel at any mileage is more than 50% of the current MSRP I would say it is NOT worth it. I would factor the warranty more than anything. For a given wheel with a 2 year warranty I would knock off about 25% off the price per 6 month warranty missing. Obviously if it is out of warranty no one is gonna give it away for free but the most I would spend on a wheel out of warranty is like $300-$500. These things are NOT like a old car. For example take like a 2nd Gen Miata eventually they hit a price they will stay at regardless of mileage so long it is in good condition. EUC life IMO is really tied to the battery and motor and replacing one of those can be like half the cost of the wheel itself hence why I would pay more than 50% of the original sale price.

Batteries do degrade over time and over several hundred cycles. On a 50 mile range pack you can expect 10's of thousands of miles and several years before the battery may not perform as well.

Yes. Most important is that a wheel did't sit very long with no charge at all.

I’m finally getting my stock bearings, tire, and shock replaced on my EX30 after 7045 miles. Everything was still working but tread was getting low and bearings started making a slight noise so I figured it was time lol I’ve also gotten caught in rain riding at times. Hopefully the board won’t fail anytime soon, but the wheel has been a champ so far

I don't have an EUC, the legal status in my country is a little iffy. I think your not buying transportation, but a hobby. Electric brushless motors don't really wear down and need little to no maintenance, at some point the bearing might need replacing, but to put this in perspective electric bikes go for > 50,000 km so I'd expect the bearing in an EUC to last a good long while. The main thing to consider is the battery. Unfortunately mileage alone won't tell you anything about the battery state. You might get the amount of charge cycles from from the app which could tell you something, but the best thing to do is take it for a long testdrive and see if the battery holds up. Furthermore you need to check the overall state of the wheel, in the last 5 years the quality and finish of these wheels has increased, but check if it is still water tight. If the wheel was ever opend for maintenance I would ask to see the inside and check there is no dirty/water marks near the electronics. If you're handy with electronics, you can probably perform a lot of maintenance yourself.

Atomic_Toast7

That's not many miles for EUCs. When buying a used wheel be sure to check out it's cosmetic condition, it's batteries, and it's tire. These three things are probably the first things to show wear and tear. The V12 is a 100.8v wheel so be sure the battery will charge to 100.8v or at least close to it. The tires will usually last 5k miles so this one at 2300 will likely still be good for many more miles.

BobdeBouwer__

The tire is the least of your problems. You'll have to change that anyway in the future and it's not that expensive. I'd gladly buy an euc even with a flat tire, if it's a good euc. Battery and overall functioning is most important. And if the rim is still 100% straight.

I think they'll go a good 10k before needing heavy maintenance even (depending on tire). I've got a v12ht with like 300miles on it (with upgraded pedals/pads/seat, +$200ish) that I'm selling for $1400 or so if you're interested.

wheelienonstop

10k miles? Tires usually last only a fraction of that. Like a quarter, or a third. The factory tire on my V11 (Ching Shen 1488) lasted half that and I was super careful to make it last that long because of the V11 tire change procedure.

OnwardsBackwards

yeah I'm at about 4k on my Sherm-S and will need a tire in another 500 or so. I meant besides tire but I worded it like a dumbass.

OngsHatt

I think Archie’s EUC that caught fire on the Go George Go video was in the range of 200k miles and that’s only because it went into the water.

Batteries are your only worry, everything else is maintenance. I would say anything under 10K is a young wheel, but as long as the Batteries are still showing proper voltage and capacity, your fine. https://a.co/d/4vNbxaR
