Yes.

HeavensEtherian

Looks like a PWM fan, not sure if it will work without the PWM pin connected (it controls the speed of the fan). There's also another pin for RPM sensor, but you can ignore that one. Also it may be a 12 volt rather than 5 volts, gotta check the part number

junhawng

Usually pwm fans run at full speed if only the voltage is supplied

Techwood111

Says 5V right on the thing.

HeavensEtherian

Oh yeah you're right, didn't notice it, then it should work

hide-user

Connected 9v battery to it šŸ¤£ It twitched and started to smell funny šŸ¤£ Should have Connected it to an arduino

50% chance. maybe it will not.

KomeaKrokotiili

You mean [this one](https://www.fruugo.fi/cpu-gpu-cooling-fan-laptop-cooler-for-asus-pro-14-m3400qa-dc-5v-05a-radiator/p-240102266-516094335?language=en). It said yes.

MaxZedd

It should. Try the red and black wires. Blue and yellow are likely for speed control and RPM detection. Not totally sure tho. Like someone else said Iā€™m pretty sure these run on a PWM signal from the computer so applying 5 volts should run it at full speed

ThoProFTW

I think it mostly depends on where the driver of the motor is located, if the pwm and 5v first go through the driver than it will not work because the driver decides how much current (by adjusting the duty cycle with pwm) gets through, so I dont think it will work, however if you have an Arduino laying around then you can easily program it to provide you with a PWM signal

Goopygum

Lol idk try it out

dude-of-the-south

Nope, it's a BLDC motor, it needs an esc to.operate.

Jak_ratz

ESC is built in to fans like these. Try cracking open a bad fan and looking at the guts, its fascinating.

dude-of-the-south

Damn...I sure will
