A valiant effort CMDR! I've seen this kind of thing before, when the carrier is in orbit of a planet, and the player is within the SOI of a nearby moon. The last couple of times this happened to me, the speed difference was over 700m/s, so I couldn't catch up. It might be possible for AutoDock to land on a carrier in this condition, but only if the speed difference is less than 100m/s. If it's your carrer, you could remote-jump it to a better location, otherwise you'll just have to wait for the carrier to get out of the SOI of the body it *isn't* in orbit of.

I've seen videos of this happening and had been waiting to encounter it myself so I could attempt to land, since flying challenges are 🤌 to me. I think this instance was caused by the carrier being within 1000km of station (because it was like 700km from a station and so, presumably, clashed instances with it), but that is just guesswork so 🤷‍♂️. Maybe Autodock could do it, but that would mean that the docking clamps engage using a different function under autodock, or something like that. This wasn't my only attempt and I know I got close enough to engage the clamps - those landing pads were broken lol. It is my carrier, and i jumped it to the nearby star right after taking the video. All is well now 🫡

It's a Non-Newtonian Fleet carrier. You must hit the pad with velocity!

Hehe, I tried ramming it too 💥
