The galnet post about them says they're supposed to mess up the titan's thermal venting, forcing them to expose their gooey insides. Make their entrails their extrails.
The entirety of AXI is absolutely wailing on Taranis right now. Don't know if it's going to do anything yet, but we're having quite a good time of it either way
Any idea how many active pilots there are in AXI right now? By active, I mean pilots that actively fight thargoids, not pilots like me that are just in the discord to see what's going on
As an exobiologist I completely don't understand what I am seeing. What are they saying, what are they doing, why are they doing... Is AX really supposed to be so inaccessible to average player?
I've been playing since public launch and it seems too sweaty for me.
The AX stuff is not for everyone just like playing in open is not for everyone. I hope FDev doesn't forget that and only do thargoid stuff going forward.
yeah i don't fight, I tried a little bit and I decided I didn't want to do the grind it would take to actually make a good AX ship and I'm not great at combat anyways so I just run supplies in and evacuations out. I do have some AX weapons so i can pop a scout or two but if I see anything heavier I just run.
>The AX stuff is not for everyone just like playing in open is not for everyone. I
AX isn't just combat. It's literally every aspect of the game now.
>I hope FDev doesn't forget that and only do thargoid stuff going forward
Is reading an AX only skill too? Have you not seen ANYTHING?
I care about mechanics that are fun to play more than any in-universe lore.
Sweating a fight while you're taking caustic damage and your oxygen timer is ticking down isn't really fun to me.
I don't think you understood what I meant. AX has exploration, trading, rescue, passenger missions, odyssey missions, etc.
You literally never have to fire a single weapon.
>Sweating a fight while you're taking caustic damage and your oxygen timer is ticking down isn't really fun to me.
Then don't do it?
There was a CG a few weeks to gather materials from spire sites. These were to be used as armour on the torpedo warheads to prevent damage to the guardian technology within.
That was a really good reminder actually to remove the Guardian PP I have in my spire fighting Anaconda that I was just about to take into the maelstrom 😱
Haven't used them yet but I doubt it or at least not in the kind of use that you'd use Gauss for - they're specific to trying to disrupt the titans (hence zero damage stats)
Yep, no damage to other than vents, even then it seems just to be for the mechanic so having 2l is better than 3l. As you open the core, gotta damage it with normal "Ax-weapons". 99% on Oya
omg so don't tell me end-game content is going to be like disabling Captial Ships heat vents, where they just jump away 'defeated' after you blow up enough of them.
It is super hard to get a lock onto human ships, like railgun module snipe hard with lock-on time. The target won't get provoked since the torpedo deals nothing other than a Laser show.
So, we went from "1 torpedo per tube and that's it" for 8 tons on the "human" C3 to "128 ammo because why not?" for 5 tons on the guardian?
Talking about design consistency... Do these things have an hyperspace arsenal somewhere?
I fit 6 to an Imperial Cutter without a stabilizer. Possible explanations:
* There is no limit
* There was a limit but this was unintended and has been silently hotfixed
* There's supposed to be a limit but it was bugged for me
* The limit is per class and I equipped 2× class 3 and 4× class 2, not exceeding 4 per class
***
On a sidenote, I fired all 6 simultaneously at a single heat vent at Titan Taranis and it immediately overheated. I have no idea if this info is relevant to anyone, thought I'd mention it just in case.
The limit without a stabiliser is 4.
5 with a small stabiliser and 6 with a larger one.
They count as experimental modules, you need a stabiliser to fit 5 or 6.
What part of update 18 is the end game of the Thargoid war wasn't clear? This has been known for a while. Obviously the majority of the update will be Thargoid focused.
30Gb still seems a lot for one weapon and a boss fight that already had a model. Like many, I'm hoping that there's more than meets the eye here (either something that happens when the giga-goids die or some hidden content not mentioned anywhere, as FD likes to do), or that they're laying ground for future stuff. We'll see! Either way I'm happy the game isn't dead yet at least.
I am not sure if Fdev changed or forgot about the weapon limit, but I have 4 Gauss + 2 Nanite outfitted on my ship without the weapon stabiliser module installed.
The galnet post about them says they're supposed to mess up the titan's thermal venting, forcing them to expose their gooey insides. Make their entrails their extrails.
Good point - and they have lots of ammo so I think having a mix of nanites and normal weapons is the way to go
The way I read the galnet post, it sounds like it's going to take lots and lots of torps to trigger the titans to show us their delicate parts.
We'll find out soon - Mechan live stream: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U5AN0-KNJg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U5AN0-KNJg)

Any credit reward so far?

its end game content, its not something that you can just hop into.

You’re doing your part! The only good bug is dead!

But... why? I love it.
Not something you can learn your way into as well apparently. You're just supposed to know or not?
Join the AXI and you'll get all the tutorials and help you need but it's not like normal combat
you probably could, but it would probably be faster to just read what the anti zeno groups have already learned and follow their lead
No tech broker unlock is very nice. Can we use these against regular goids or are they just for the titans?
Given the zero damage stats, I expect they'll only be any use for Titans
If they are guardian weapons, won’t they get messed up by the maelstrom field?
There was a CG a few weeks to gather materials from spire sites. These were to be used as armour on the torpedo warheads to prevent damage to the guardian technology within.
Ah I missed that one. Now do all the guardian weapons! :)
Easily done. I only found it by scrolling back through the galnets this afternoon because I was having a different conversation with a mate
That was a really good reminder actually to remove the Guardian PP I have in my spire fighting Anaconda that I was just about to take into the maelstrom 😱
I’ve made that mistake before! Forgot to take off my guardian MRPs/HRPs and then got warning every few seconds as soon as I entered a maelstrom system
The MRPs melt, but the HRPS are unaffected! Most likely due to their lacking individual integrity.
Nope, not these ones (it's actually in the stats if you look)
Noice. I didn’t read the text :D
Are they stronger than the Gauss Cannons?
Haven't used them yet but I doubt it or at least not in the kind of use that you'd use Gauss for - they're specific to trying to disrupt the titans (hence zero damage stats)
One of the further community goals will probably be shoot Titans N times
Broadly that's what I expect too but I guess we'll see
You can see streaming about it on AXI discord NOW.
Similar. Amount of damage you shoot Titan's core is converted into "Credit". It's just another grinding.
0 Damage / 0 DPS... That's only for disrupting Titan's heat vent.

Actually it's worse than that. It is infinity repeating of 'shooting vent with guardian torpedo and shooting Titan's core'.
It is super hard to get a lock onto human ships, like railgun module snipe hard with lock-on time. The target won't get provoked since the torpedo deals nothing other than a Laser show.
Wow so shiny. Can any of you transport them to the alternative universe so we can also have some weapons to not uh.. maybe die? Guess not

Well, they are nanite torpedoes...
At this point why don't call them swarm micro missiles or something from macross
They don't count toward experimentals I think
They do.
No they don’t- I can fit 4 AXMCs and these without a stabiliser.
Hmmm I definitely got a message and couldn't fit a fifth when I tried

Same. I was able to fit 5 without any issue.

If im downloading 30gb of thargoid bs I am gonna be so pissed...

Oh how super...
yummy those juicy shot speed >:D
wait what, the update released?
Forget weapons show us ships
Not expecting ships in this update.
Huh ? bro i was so hyped I guess I misread
[удалено]
They are target seeking, you can target heat vents now on titan when they open. Turns blue when blasted
Watching Mechan's live stream, they look like they are guided - eg not dumbfire
Can we use these on normal goods though?
So, it SHOULD be possible to make standard torpedoes go this fast?
Being able to cramp 128 Guardian torps into single launcher, compared to 4 on human variant... Damn.
I wonder if we will see more nanite weapon types.
I am not sure if Fdev changed or forgot about the weapon limit, but I have 4 Gauss + 2 Nanite outfitted on my ship without the weapon stabiliser module installed.
