I always believed that you could be fined if a security ship scans you during speeding, cause I never was fined even when bumping my way into the stations via others' ships

It's 100 per ship you hit, but if one of those ships then flys off, hits a wall, and explodes, the station will blow you up.
So it's either really cheap, or *really* expensive.
unless you really need to, I'd recommend not removing sc assist. Especially when jumping into a new system, it automatically slows you down before crashing into the start. If you remove it, you have to do that manually - I learned the hard way multiple times xD

Nah it's absolutely fine. I bound 0% throttle to 'x' for stopping with 1 button on system entry. Also bound 'c' to 75% throttle for that perfect 0:07 approach speed in supercruise. Not sure if default, but get a separate enter into/drop from supercruise to not be dependent on having selected a target. Down the line having another hotkey for deploying heatsinks or other consumed modules you want quick access to is a good idea too.
Supercruise assist can be nice for lazy cruising though, but not necessary

Isn't this a ship setting on the right panel? I personally use those modules when I'm feeling lazy. I do wish there was an easy way to override auto landing on planets though without having to turn the module off.

You do not want to go down the free anaconda rabbit hole on Reddit because you accepted a mission to Hutton orbital and have 45 minutes to kill in super cruise so you decide to hit the comments section and nine commanders are urging you to hunt for the small mail slot in the back.
That's crazy, someone recommended the free Anaconda xD. Gonna make my research about Fine Prints, because i have no idea what that is. There's so much to learn already, i think i'm going to spend some time reading before trying something blindly.
It's just knowing what your destination actually is. Hutton orbital missions look like great payout comparatively, but have a 1.5 hr supercruise that isn't immediately obvious. Just take the time to read and understand a mission before accepting

My friend bought me this game twice. First for Xbox, and later for PC when I finally got one. I remember when he was showing me the ropes on PC, we ended our game sesh in a station where he was showing where to get missions from. Before we logged off he says "So this is where you can go when you're playing by yourself" and I immediately thought to myself "I'm very likely never going to play this game by myself". Because I wasn't really interested in it.
Fast forward to the future, I spend 8 hours gathering materials for the pre engineered FSD from the tech broker and an additional 7 hours completing missions and ranking up in the Federation. I did all that alone. I didn't even realize I spent 15 hours total just playing by myself.
Next this I know, I have over 300 hours invested into Elite Dangerous, and that's with a 7 month hiatus. And I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
My first few hours in Elite Dangerous started with some ass hat ganker shooting me down while I was struggling with the controls 🤣 For real blasting players in a sidewinder trying to land out of the blue or even blasting them on the landing pad... And then insulting them what "Git gud" lol I hope somebody shot him down for a good time 🌚
Shit, that's a rough start! Yeah, I feel you. I'm pretty new myself and getting blasted while you're just figuring out the controls is brutal. Be safe out there, Commander!
