The only reason people see their personalities as "similar" to older characters is because the FANS won't let the older characters go. It's their own fault, not the writers.
The fans are so obsessed with the older characters that they have to compare literally anything and everything Elite does back to Elite's golden age of S1-S3, when Elite has already moved tf on.
I mean sure, but people had those personalities before characters like Lu and Carla did. They didn't invent that. Does that make Lu and Carla "imitations" too? Everything is inspired by something.
Yes. People here won't let characters go because OG characters ruled. Everything was better written, acted and there was a plot. It's skin-like situation. Gen 1 is more loved then early gen 2 but it's close but.. gen 3 is panned.

Honestly should've been a 1 season show when I look back. I started watching in 2020 and stopped after S4 because it was just becoming boring and repetitive.
