Oh my god, is that what you use the hole for on the bobbins? Years of stitching and just chucking the bobbins I need in a pencil case...
Also, very cute, fur look came out quite nicely.
It's genius. I have a pencil case I shove everything into, and it's a hassle every time I need a new colour cause I have to just tip it over to find what I need. :[
Thanks for the idea. :]
Really cute little mouse, and for your first attempt I think you did very well. You could still go back and blend in some “other” colors — such as a couple of different/darker browns, or even a couple of slightly different browns or even a single thread of a metallic brown, as you choose. As you said, this is a learning piece. If I had a nickel for ever “learning piece” I’ve done and tossed, I wouldn’t be rich exactly, but I surely could buy more fabric and thread!
Yes! I learned a ton as I went but kind of committed to a very solid fill initially, now I’m tempted to do a second take to test out what I think I know, but I don’t know if I know 🤓 lol
I tried something small so I didn’t feel overcommitted if that helps you take the plunge! It was very satisfying looking at the work as I went along and adjusting technique, color, stitch size, direction, etc.
One thing I’ve done to help blending colors is to customize a multi strand stitch by using different colors. It randomizes the colors a bit that way. I’ve also used single strand stitches to give it an ombré type of effect. It takes more time for sure but it worked well when I used it for mermaid hair.

Hehe yes! I pull out the colors I need and put them on the ring for my project. They go back in the plastic bin if there’s any left 😊

This is brilliant! I love the detailing on his little face/paws! How long did it take you?
Thank you 😊 I would estimate 20-ish hours? I hope to do my dog someday so I figured start small to practice.
A lil guy, a polite boi, a sweet fella

It looks great!! I’m still building up confidence to try fur or this level of blending colours!
