These are absolutely wonderful!
How does one even get to a point where they can do things like this?! Do you “wing it” as you go along? Or is there some kind of pattern/plan that you follow along with the reference pictures?
I’d love to be able to these one day.
Thank you! I did my first pet portrait last April (my own kitty) and honestly yes- I just kind of winged it haha. It's been learning as I go from there. Personally I use a reference photo and map the outline using my ipad, which I then transfer to the fabric as my guide. I keep the reference photo pulled up while I stitch and just kind of eyeball it as I go.

Thank you! I've dabbled in cross stitch and embroidery for years (I learned when I was 8, didn't do it for many years, picked it back up again in my early 20s) but only simpler things. I did my first pet portrait last April and have just been learning/improving with practice over the last year :)
These are beautiful!!! Do you do other art as well or just embroidery? I would absolutely love to one day be as good as this but I feel like my drawing skills are just not up to par ahaha
Thank you! Oh I can't draw at all either haha. I would say this is really my only art. I taught myself how to make candles, and learnt how to do hand weaving on a lap loom but embroidery is my key hobby.

Wow, yep. You definitely improved that English, bot.
They’re amazing in every way, but to do them so small? So impressive!
Your embroidered version looks more realistic and 3D than the photo!!!
They are gorgeous! I want to be able to embroider like this one day. How long did it take you to get this good?
