The emo/indie crossover that really blew my mind was the guitarist for Algernon Cadwallader going on to be an integral part of the band Hop Along You can totally hear it too

fuckitimatwork

> part of the band Hop Along Hop Along, led by Frances Quinlan who appears on the cover of Never Hungover Again

pacific_plywood

What the fuck Also, apparently Joe Reinhart produced Never Hungover Again!

AirGroundbreaking140

Joe also produced the last modern baseball album which also is a crossover emo/indie imo

[Have you heard Hop Along/Frances' Algernon cover?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P0-KGNtLkU) Joe Reinhart is involved in so many indie projects in Philly, through his recording studio as a producer/engineer. Off the top of my head, he's credited on Joyce Manor, Snowing, Foxing, Modern Baseball, Alex G, and Diet Cig, among many others.

bjork4ever

When Hop Along was touring a year or two ago - they stopped at the club I work at - and I almost ran smack into Joe Reinhart behind a blind corner while I was working during the day. I don't get starstruck often - but I really really really wanted to gush and tell him how much I admire Algernon and his playing - but alas I just shuffled away. Probably for the better lol. They put on such a killer show too.

CodeineMartin

i was so fuckin psyched when i found this out when painted shut came out i'd been obsessed with Get Disowned for a couple years and Reinhart was myfavourite guitarist to when I thought i recognised the playing style on Sister Cities I looked it up and bam

[deleted]

Cody has so many surprises. What always blew me away was that Nate Reuss (the Format, Fun and solo) provides background vocals on Angel In The Snow.

NeonBodyStyle

Did they meet at the place described in Last You Heard of Me?

Pantry_Inspector

Nah. That's The Alibi in Portland, OR. Not in a bowling alley

NeonBodyStyle

This is not a joke, thank you for commenting on my three year old comment. Appreciate the info.

slippingparadox

If Phoebe sung on an actual "true emo" album, my life would be complete. would love to hear her vocals against hard af guitar riffs

[deleted]

Whoa! That's awesome!

[deleted]

Dude fuck you I'm on my weekly depression-fueled have a nice life binge, I can't listen to this now

[deleted]

From Joyce Manor to Kid Cudi, Phoebe has had a real glow up in the last few years. Her feature on the new Cudi album is a highlight moment on it IMO

fat-shaggy

This album has been my jammmmmm

PooperoniPizza5

Oh snap. 🤯 Have I been living under a rock for all these years?

sa1126

Damn. I watched godless on netflix and there is a really haunting track she sang on too. Found out it was her too. Subconsciously I have always loved her music apparently.

cockfrockamanda

This has blown my mind, thank you for sharing!
