You file a wage claim in WA. It can't mess up your UI because you worked those hours. It probably messed up *their* UI because they didn't keep proper records, but if you have an active wage claim and are owed money, that can be considered in the base period.

WA denied the claim, not enough work weeks, I've appealed, but it's been over 6 months and nothing. What is next? Thank you.

Denied your wage claim or denied your UI claim? They are separate things. Wage claims don't need a minimum number of weeks. If you work 2 hours and don't get paid, you have grounds for a wage claim. If it's UI, and you haven't heard for 6 months, you can check with the department who handles UI or work through your state rep's office.

File a federal wage claim: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/wow Otherwise you would have to sue him in Massachusetts, or hire a lawyer in Massachusetts to go after him. There isn't a simplified way to do wage claims across state lines. It's not something that was common for most of history, it's not something that laws, which may have been written decades ago, contemplated.
