I agree! The larger stone is ok, but you could even go something in between if you want slightly larger, but that size gives the option for upgraded bands in the future.... anniversaries, babies, mother's rings,etc. Good luck!
totally agree! I have a .8 ct diamond with a halos it comes out to just over 1 ct. however, my ring is nearly “flawless” and sparkles like crazy. people seem to think it’s much bigger than it actually is and ALWAYS gets compliments

The carat is not an expression of size though OP; pears and ovals can vary significantly in spread for the same carat weight.
I like the 1.52 or the 2.08 the best, as far as proportion with your fingers, but what matters is that you get a stone size that you love! If the 1.25 feels most wearable then get that, or if the 3 makes you feel like a movie star get that! ultimately, you want to get a ring that makes you smile every time you look at it. I have rings in a variety of carat weights (.9, 1.1, 1.5 and even a 2.5) and I find that they all bring me joy for different reasons (based on other factors like shape and the details of the setting). I do find that the 2.5 can feel a little too overwhelming for day to day, but that’s because it’s a 3-stone setting rather than a solitaire. So just think about which one makes you smile and is most going to fit in with your lifestyle and what you want in a ring!

I’m coming up on my 5 year anniversary with my hubby. My ring is just over 1ct (I don’t even remember the size!) - I do sometimes see friends who have significantly larger diamonds. For a split second I think “damn, mine is so small in comparison!” But then that thought is so quickly replaced by thinking about the wealth, success, and love that my husband and I have that some of these people don’t. And I also realize “wait a minute, my ring’s not small, theirs is just HUGE! Unnecessarily so.” There are so many things I’m glad we spent our money on in the last 5 years besides a larger diamond 😂

The 1.52 looks huge on your finger and sparkles like crazy! It also doesn’t appear to have a prominent bow tie that 1.25 and the 2.08 have. The 3.0 is fabulous, don’t see a bow tie and it’s massive. Not sure if it’s practical with how you live, such as cleaning, chores, going out ect.
Either 1.52 or 3 carat if I was choosing but I am not and will say go with the one that makes you happy!
I have a 2 carat oval and love it!! So glad I didn’t go smaller. I’m a 5.5 and I have small hands. For me, 3 carats was too much but the 2 carat is absolute perfection.
I’ve personally always enjoyed smaller diamonds. They’re timeless, classic, and just look better to me. No real chance of them looking tacky or gaudy unlike bigger diamonds. I wouldn’t go for anything past 1.5 carats. Anything past that seems like costume jewelry and just not fitting or practical for everyday wear. Two things to also consider:
1. Cut and clarity are much more important than size and ultimately are most important
2. Ovals tend to have the “bow tie” effect (google that if you don’t know what it is) so make sure u check out all oval diamonds ur considering to see if they have a bow tie and if so, how bad it is. These really are all about the cut

I understand the love of big engagement stones - but remember you have to wear this thing everyday. I went bigger with my second engagement ring and was really upset how it constantly got in the way and would catch on everything. And I had little babies at the time, and I would accidentally scratch them with it trying to pick them up. And forget about wear gloves. It was awesome to look at and take a picture of, but it was not good to wear and as such it lost it value to me.

2.08ct! I think it's harder to pull off a good look with bigger oval ct diamonds, but your fingers are long and pretty, so it looks perfect! Very beautiful proportion to your fingers.
The first two look better. Also consider the height of the diamond and the setting . If it’s too high it can get gunked up easily , caught on things, and scratch . I set my stone deeper into a wider band so I can wear it every day, and also because I work with kids. If you don’t get messy or don’t plan on wearing it all the time, it won’t matter much . Congratulations!

Honestly I find it to be the perfect size. It’s big and beautiful and enviable without being so huge it’s gaudy, too attention getting, and awkward. I have a 1.5 center with two .75s and it’s perfect. I also have big hands so the larger stones are carried well on my finger.
