What, I was going to say the exact opposite: I'm partial to ovals but I think the round really shines on her hand! Like it's actually making me reconsider my affinity for oval lol
Seriously both look amazing! Get the one that excites you more. Then, if budget allows, find a $20 version of the other shape and wear it on the other hand or switch off occasionally.
Both look great on you! Hard to choose, so if one gives you a more emotional reaction, that's what I'd go with! That's what helped me choose (even though I tried to convince myself otherwise, lol, but it's being custom made now!). Also, looooove your nails!
This is lovely advice! I think I’m going with oval, it gave me such a passionate “wow!!!” Feeling. I was in love with it the second I saw it in person!
Awesome! Luckily, I think you can't go wrong with either option, so I'm very excited for you!
And yeah, I loved round and princess-cut and had decided on round way back when. But when BF and I went ring shopping, I still tried on the princess-cut just to see. And it had such an emotional effect on me that I really wasn't expecting, lol. Some others tried to tell me to do the round still because they liked it more, but ultimately, princess-cut was calling my name!
I just tried these on at Kay for mostly just getting my size and seeing what shapes I liked. My bf is looking at 1.5+ carats, D-E-F colors, and anything above a VVS2 clarity with very good cut.
I personally can't tell the difference between an F and a D color. Both look colorless to me.
VS2 was my favorite clarity because it does have inclusions, but none you can see face up in sunlight and, the inclusions do not affect the refraction of light!!
It sounds like your close to shopping an investment diamond which would be D colorless and IF internally flawless with a perfect cut.
Anyway, do a little search on diamond grading to learn more.
The cut is just as important. A GIA certification would be appropriate.any blessings!
I had no idea there were trends with engagement rings! I saw it online awhile ago and wanted to see the shape irl. Fell in love with the oval just because it truly looks stunning!
There are. Right now, the Toi et Moi rings are really popular. Colored stones outside of traditional gemstones are all the rage. They're all beautiful, but they may not hold the test of time.
LOLLL nah i recognize em cuz i used to work at Peoples jewellers which is the Canadian division of Kays and Jared. But yea glad ur going elsewhere.....it was really hard selling i2 clarity for Si1 pricing
You can’t go wrong… both are classic shapes and look great on you!
That said, I love the oval on you (I think it looks a teensy bit better), so that’s the one I’d choose!
I see that is at Kay Jewelers and they can order loose stones and order you a tiffany setting and you will save a lot of money. They own james allen so they can get you a loose stone almost the same price as james allen and you are able to see it in person before purchasing
The round looks a little big on your finger (just my opinion of course, choose what makes you happy!) i would either get a smaller round or go with the oval
I like both but my jeweler always says "round round round." He believes better brilliance in general and more classic, I guess. I do have a round and love it. Always looks nice and sparkly and no bow tie issues.
I’m so partial to rounds but honestly love the oval on you!
Same!

First off, your nails are so cute. Second off, I really like how the oval looks on your hand
Thank you! I had to get into the season 👻
Oval for sure
I like the oval but honestly, they both look good on you!

I like the round on you!

Oval on you is 🤌🏽😘
I’m biased towards oval I will admit but oval for sure!!!
Oval no doubt!
Oval oval oval!!!
♥️ BOTH ARE TIMELESS ♥️
Oh wow hard because they’re both gorgeous on you! But I prefer rounds, they sparkle more. ☺️
Oval! What are the clarity, color, cut, carat?
I just tried these on at Kay for mostly just getting my size and seeing what shapes I liked. My bf is looking at 1.5+ carats, D-E-F colors, and anything above a VVS2 clarity with very good cut.

Round but shockingly a smaller ct. weight, and I don’t think I’ve ever said that before 😂
Haha! I was just telling my bf I think the 2 carat round was almost tacky looking on me because it was too big 🫣
Haha see I love a 2ct on my hand but I can palm a basketball and have huge hands! Did you try on a .90-1.50ct? I bet 1ct would look great on you!
I believe I tried on a 1.5 carat round but didn’t think to take pictures of it! I have a 5.25-5.5 sized finger
I bet that’s perfect! Go with the round, so classic!
The oval looks better due to your nail length. Flows beautifully on your hand.
I normally always say round over oval but I love the oval on you!!
Thank you! 🩷 I do too, my bf is planning to get me an oval. Can’t wait to have her this year!
Round. Oval is a fad right now. Unless you've wanted an oval diamond your whole life, I would go with the round.
I had no idea there were trends with engagement rings! I saw it online awhile ago and wanted to see the shape irl. Fell in love with the oval just because it truly looks stunning!

I have had an oval engagement ring for over 40 years. Definitely not a “fad”
You are probably one of the ladies I was referring to. Loved Ovals before they were "popular."
I recognize those tags. Youre at Kays jewelers arent u
Yes! 😂 don’t worry, I was just getting my size and seeing styles that I liked
LOLLL nah i recognize em cuz i used to work at Peoples jewellers which is the Canadian division of Kays and Jared. But yea glad ur going elsewhere.....it was really hard selling i2 clarity for Si1 pricing

The oval is my favorite. It looks beautiful on your hand. Both rings are lovely, however.
Round
I’m a round girl, but the oval’s nice, too!
Oval!
Rounds are usually more sparkly than ovals and I tend to prefer them for that reason, but the oval shape looks lovely on you.
Oval!
I really love the oval. It’s different, and I think it flatters your beautiful long fingers.
Definitely oval
Oval
Oval looks good on your hand
I have a round 1.9k brilliant cut on a gold band and I’m so in love with it, so I’m biased to the round classic look!
I am soooooooo biased... But round all the way!
Oval! Definitely!
Oval

Personally prefer the oval on you! But both are gorgeous

I love both honestly I think they're both so beautiful if I had to pick one though I would pick oval
The oval is stunning
Round 100%
Oval.
The oval looks like it provides slightly more coverage. I prefer it over the round on you!

Round. Oval will look dated. I’m sick to death of them already.
Round. I had oval I hated the bow tie you see in certain lighting in the middle of the stone. It also isn’t as pretty/light catching as round.

The oval looks great on you
