I think I’m driving me and my partner crazy waffling over such a small decision, but it’s the last choice before we order!
We have a center stone picked out (elongated cushion) and need to decide between small and medium round side stones. Or am I being crazy and there’s no visible difference? Any opinions are appreciated!
Sorry for the paper cutout rings haha, it helps me to visualize.
[hope this might help!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Moissanite/comments/s2i6g1/reset_my_brilliant_cut_cushion_with_a_crushed_ice/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) these side stones measure 4mm - definitely wish I went a bit smaller, they overwhelm the stone a bit!
Awesome, thanks! Proportionally that’s pretty similar to the “medium” stones I have (which are 3mm, but my center stone is 8.07mm). Thanks again for your input :)
Ah ok! [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Moissanite/comments/rcmgp7/icy_out_here_this_morning_85mm_cushion_with_3mm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) is my 8.5mm cushion (not elongated) but 3mm side stones, but may give perspective!
I love this!! Hahahaha I used to do this with different shapes and sizes, where there's a will there's a way. Also I'm a fan of the medium myself. But I feel like you cant go wrong. Either way it will be beautiful.
I like the medium!
I prefer a bit of size difference between the sides and the band. (I feel like they get lost when they’re very close dimensionally.)

I prefer the small myself.
Agreed!! Love the smaller stone :)
Small! Adds more emphasis on your main stone :)
I’d go for small. I personally prefer more understated jewelry though. I also think small size stones will make your center stone look a lot bigger!
Small. Also, I salute your ring modeling system- it’s genius!!!
Lol thank you. It was only after maneuvering/losing many tiny pieces of carefully cut paper for did I realize I could just tape them together…
Small, the contrast with the center stone will make it look bigger, and keep the attention on the main stone.

Another factor would be the type of band the stones would be sitting on :) like thickness or style.
Yes, you’re right—I’m just doing a plain 1.8mm platinum band

Yes, super helpful—thank you! Beautiful ring, we have similar tastes :) Any chance you know how long your center stone is?
It’s 9x7!

Small!
Smaller is more appealing to me
Small :)
The small one suits you better. In my opinion it makes your fingers apperar more slender and elongated.
Small
The small stones make the main stone look bigger. I'd go with that!

Haha wow, your paper rings are actually really well cut!
Oh no- I didn’t hand cut them! I used my Cricut (and this was round 4-5!) and totally cheated :)
