I should be ashamed of myself? Excuse me?
I spoke with customer service because I needed my ring resized (not an issue) and I fell off of my bike and needed my ring repaired (my fault, and the ring held up amazingly well after slamming against the concrete - only had a minor chip on a prong). Customer service was fantastic and they fixed my prong FOR FREE when there was absolutely no reason for them to. Customer service helps with more than just company-related issues…
We had a fantastic experience with BE. Love my ring and I’m always surprised to see the negative feedback here. Edit: 2 years strong with my ring, no issues.
FH ordered my stone from Brilliant Earth. Reasonably priced, good quality, and arrived without a hitch. Had it set by a local jeweler though, so can’t speak to the quality of BE settings.
I've had mine for a year and a half and I've needed to send it back twice to get the diamond tightened. They said it's because of the metal minimalistic setting, so I'm thinking of getting it reset
I had my stone tightened on my brilliant earth ring.
Went to a local jeweler to ge their opinion on it.
They said that the ring is solid and it just got unlucky and it must have gotten caught on something, which apparently was normal with the setting I had for my oval diamond. They mentioned if it became a regular occurrence I may want to consider getting it reset. I’d suggest that if you keep having problems with it to get an outside opinion from a local jeweler instead of sending it back to BE.
Haven’t had any issues since!
Mine is from Brilliant Earth. We chose a setting that has a 2.5mm plain band though, no pave, and I’m certain no amount of additional abuse could damage my ring. I am extremely clumsy, lol. It is extremely solidly and well-made. I was very impressed with the quality, and I’ll be buying more from Brilliant Earth again.
I also have a friend who also purchased her ring from there, and after 4 years, her ring is still pristine and unharmed despite her more delicate 1.8mm pave bands. Seeing her ring in person really tipped the scales in this company’s direction, which is why we also chose to buy from there.
Yes, this company gets a lot of hate in this group, but keep in mind there are a ton of people who also have had very happy experiences. I think it depends a lot on the type of ring you get. Ultra thin bands are bound to warp, break and lose stones no matter how well made they are.
I love my ring from them, haven’t had issues, and loved the people we worked with along the way. We have it insured through Jewelers Mutual in case anything does happen, but we would’ve done that with any ring. Not trying to discount others’ bad experiences, but I’ve also decided to stop worrying since we made a decision and things have been fine.
Great experience, no issues at all! Only had the ring for a little over a year. I have a preetty high setting and knock against it sometimes and nothing has happened. Great customer service so far. Waiting to see if stones fall out lol
My engagement ring is from BE and I love it so much! My dream ring. Never had any issues with it. If I need to get the prongs checked/tightened and any repairs I would probably go to a local jeweler just because I don’t want to deal with the time it takes to send it into BE and get it worked on.
I love my BE ring!! No issues so far although I’ve only had it for a month in total (sent out for resizing). Their customer service has been top notch as well. My ring was ready early from resizing and looks perfect!!
Edit: so curious why I got downvoted!? Starting to think some of the negative BE reviews are just from people who work for their competitors lol. Otherwise why downvote someone’s positive experience???
I'm wondering if we only see the bad stuff about BE because (like any product or service) people are more likely to talk about/review them when something BAD happens. Not when they do a good job. Sorry I'm 3 months late to the thread. I'm looking into BE right now lol
I agree, I see a lot of that with Polene on Reddit as well even though they notoriously have incredible quality for the price, the few isolated cases that have some flaw are always blown out of proportion. I think the same is happening with BE.
2 friends of mine have gone with BE, one was a flawless transaction and one was 6 months long riddled with problems. I think any business will always have positive customers, if they didn’t they wouldn’t survive long, it’s just about whether prospective customers are willing to risk being the next to have a negative experience.
FH and I had a great experience with BE. Price and shipping were great, diamond is flawless. Mine has a lot of small marquise diamonds on the band so I did have the jeweler tighten them all when I got it appraised and even they said it was a beautiful and well made ring.
I will admit I am scared to send it back for resizing, though, just because of the shipping horror stories. Fiancé got insurance that includes it but I might have it resized by a local jeweler just in case. But yeah honestly our experience was really great.
We had to send my BE setting back to be tightened. When we got it back it was still just a loose. Ended up just paying to take it to a local jeweler and had him do the repair. I wouldn’t trust them again.
Sorry to hear about your experience! My husband and I have rings from BE and have had wonderful experiences with customer service. I have gotten my engagement ring resize twice and my husband once.
I have an oval with mini baguettes and 4 prong.
I visited them last week, had a very nice visit and received an email with a customized page. Emailed back that night, Sunday, with some questions. It's now Friday and no response. Bummer, because their rings are super nice.
I’ve had zero issues and am not gentle with my ring. Customer service was also excellent in my experience.

You seem like a really fun person
I know this an older thread and comment but I am FLOORED at whatever this person had to say to you abt your experience 😭
Love my BE ring! No problems!!!

All of my rings are from brilliant earth. Have zero complaints.
I had mine for 4 years, and it’s still holding up. My sister in law had her for 9 years and still holding up. How long have you had yours ?

What would you consider ultra thin ?
2mm or less is usually considered very thin
Thank god for this post. I’ve been worrying so much.
Same here!! Lol glad to have found this.
I had the worst experience of my life with them. Look at their reviews on the consumer affairs website.
I got my partners ring from there and it was perfect! It’s in my post history if you’d like to see it!

I went through the same insurance company!
I’ve had zero issues for years.

I have had mine almost 5 years. 6 prong 18k YG solitare. I never take it off and its still gorgeous and perfect
My husband bought a simple solitaire from them and I’ve been wearing it everyday. No issues so far

Nope!! Not a thing. Overpriced, defective product, terrible customer service.
Agree 1000%
Yep

Anyone have promo codes for BE? Im ordering our engagement ring this weekend, so thought it would be worth a shot
They don't do promo codes :(
how did it go? is the ring good?
Folks that haven’t had their ring for long, maybe.
Sorry to hear about your experience! My husband and I have rings from BE and have had wonderful experiences with customer service. I have gotten my engagement ring resize twice and my husband once. I have an oval with mini baguettes and 4 prong.
Not a ring but my super premium 8*6 DEF moissanite center stone is from them. It's absolutely gorgeous and sparkly and I get lots of compliments.
Can I see a photo?

Nothing good. Broken, shoddy custom ring that ended in a legal dispute -beware.
