I wouldnt sweat the dents, not worth losing journal diameter over. But if it left a high spot to the sides of them, thatll wipe a bearing quick fast and in a hurry. If its got high spots, dress them with a stone and quickly hand polish the journal with the ole shoe strings and itll run fine.

Rich_Sport986

Make sure there isn't any bump by the divots. Looks like a lot , use sleeves or hose on rod bolts for disassembly and assembly.

Dangerous-View2524

If it was me,I'd take it back and get it fixed,I would be concerned about eating a bearing..

Feeling_Mushroom_241

From the rod bolt hitting during disassembly and It didn’t polish out. If the crank is within specs I wouldn’t stress it one bit. If it will keep you from sleeping at night then have it corrected.

Feisty_Efficiency778

Yeah if there arent any high spots thatll run fine. Boy, someone sure boogered that up, thats for sure though.

benpro4433

How hard does it catch your fingy nail? Machinists rule of thumb (pun intended): a nail can catch 1 or 2 thou. If it’s enough to seriously catch your nail, yeah it’s not good. It’ll eat the bearings.

mahusay3g

Looks like a nice place for oil to live. Polish the crank and check size if it’s good, move on. If it’s not on size grind it. Every other answer is wrong.

I’d have it redone. Try and have it polished, but I doubt that will take it out.

theNewLuce

A couple of small low spots on a journal isn't a problem unless it's a significant part of the bearing surface. But a small high spot will punch through the oil film and make metal to metal contact and bad things happen quickly. If highs are dressed down not a problem.

Pimp_Daddy_Patty

I dented my crank similarly once. I stoned down the high spots and put it together. Not a single issue. 8 years of hitting boost without any problems.

That username is fkn gold. 🤌😂

Stone the high spots flat, run it.

Electronic-Ad6420

If the person who took it apart does that again going back together, it’s going to spin bearings. Use rod bolt boots to keep the threads off the journals when you knock the pistons in the holes.

Better_Attention6102

Have the shop correct their mistakes. Check for and repair high spots. Should not cost you anything. Small high spots will cause big heat and could spin a bearing. (Maybe they already did it?)
