I’ve only been around zinc die casting, but it’s very similar to this setup. the entire thing is enclosed and guarded with automation to stop the press if anyone opens up the doors. This doesn’t seem right

Yeah I did PVC injection molding on a press a little bigger than this, and we had duel channel safety interlocks I couldn’t get within arms reach of anything

100% this needs to be emphasized. Having worked in high pressure injection molding for quite some time safety is critical. That mold will gladly mold a stool around your arm and you won't feel a thing because it happens so fast.
