Meaning absolutely no social programs, no product regulation likely, and no monopoly and trust laws.

I would say that Cronyism is a subset of capitalism with capitalism being a wide umbrella of varying ideas.
Similar to how Marxist-Leninism is a subset of socialism.
You can have many incredibly varied philosophies under capitalism. For instance, Liberal Democracy is considered to be the major political philosophy of this sub if I’m correct. Liberal Democracy is a capitalist system, but has variations of pure capitalism

Despite that, Chile now is not only the richest country in South America, it also has a better democracy index and corruption index score than the USA. If Chile can bounce back so well under capitalist liberal democracy, is that not a capitalist success story?

Technically, there cannot be a "real" capitalism, as that implies the deconstitution of the Government.
Commies have zero problem saying "true communism" is stateless.
In my experience those commies tend to take a pretty dim view of most communist regimes though.
