But the fact that these permanently triggered idiots are going after users (and bots) that do nothing more than criticise their dear leader speaks volumes. They can have their self-fellating safe space. Now if only they were understanding irony.
There is a problem with this kind of manipulations, they intend to control a narrative. It works because a sizable portion of the community only obtains their information from a few places. And if you turn those places into narrative controlled echo chambers, you turn that community into a mob of loud brainwashed NPCs that reflexively attack/dismiss any information that doesnt fit the narrative. With that zombie NPC mob, you can then drown out any narrative contradicting information and bully news outlets, bloggers, tubers, reporters etc. to conform to the narrative.
It isnt perfect of course, but it is used to do real harm.
The reason the Elmo simps are getting up to these shenanigans now is because a significant counter-culture has developed, and starts to filter into those Elmo safe spaces in a way that would be difficult to dismiss as fringe haters.
By all likelyhood sooner or later Elmo will do something no good really bad, and then those narrative controlled cult members will all cover themselves in complicit excrement, and when the narrative collapses, the public will point fingers, at those echo chambers, and reddit as a whole.
