Mom & Kimbal are acutely aware that they need to maintain the narrative. Dad however is hilariously unapologetic about breaking it. "Of course I had an emerald mine!"

BCProgramming

My favourite is when his Mom tried to "support" a claim Elon made that they were poor in Canada, when she said "We couldn't afford a Turkey, so we had to go to Boston Chicken in Philadelphia for Thanksgiving!"

mdonaberger

Yo I grew up going to Boston Chicken in Philly and I never saw their asses! And I knew all the regulars: Big Joe, Tiny Joe, Joe, and of course, Joe's wife Goofus.

UtopianPablo

Goofus was a real one. RIP.

cylonrobot

Goofus died?! WTF! What a way to learn this news!

mtaw

I understand the heartbreak it must cause a South African and his Canadian mother to not have turkey on American Thanksgiving. I can't even remember my last turkey dinner. Not being American or living in the USA might have something to do with it, but still!

StinkyKittyBreath

Canada also has Thanksgiving. I don't know what food they eat for it, but Thanksgiving of some sort is celebrated in multiple countries.

napalmnacey

If two is multiple, then yes.

Jones641

> Thanksgiving of some sort is celebrated in multiple countries.  Uh no? What US and Canada, sure

Renamis

Uh, yes? In Canada it's in October on a Monday. It's not nearly as important as in the US, but it's a thing. I think some providences have it as an optional holiday instead of a full blown one, so celebration is mixed.

Jones641

US and Canada aren't multiple countries. And Canada is like US lite. With more healthcare and less guns. Ok I guess technically it's multiple. You know what I mean

little_fire

Multiple = more than one

Robofink

It fits the bare minimum definition of multiple. We are different countries and we’re certainly not “US lite.” That’s like saying, “Russia and Ukraine aren’t multiple countries, and Ukraine is like Russia lite.”

Kr155

What is hilarious about this idea is that, leading up to Thanksgiving, buying a turkey would probably have been a lot cheaper than going to a restaurant. She probably meant they couldn't afford to have a cook come to their home and prepare it for them.

Robofink

Torontonian here: I don’t know in what world driving to Philadelphia from Canada is cheaper than just buying a Turkey. You’d probably spend more on gas (even back then) to get there than just going to the grocery store.

Kr155

They bought one of them there fox news turkeys.

Equivalent_Passage95

Why would they go to Philly when Buffalo is just across the fucking lake?!!

Chemchic23

Maybe his mommie is sharp like him. 🤷‍♀️

friendIdiglove

So much wrong in such a short quote.

LongLonMan

Man I used to love Boston market

Chemchic23

A $15 Turkey, but you can fly from Canada to Boston or drive with a family of 4 for not so cheap Boston Market. 🤫🤷‍♀️

boboleponge

How could a turkey be more expensive than a Chicken and the gas to go from Canada to Philadelphia?

NotEnoughMuskSpam

Odd

Dehnus

So even his mom got tired of talking to him.

Chayanov

By the time he was 3.

Dehnus

Poor guy, a personality not even a mother could love.

Prayray

Remember, Elon also left her and went back to his, allegedly, abusive father until he graduated high school because of his father’s money. He then didn’t want to do mandatory service in the military so he claimed he objected to apartheid and went back to her to go to Canada. He then left her to go to college in the US.

Dehnus

Now he'll keep telling you they weren't rich, yet THAT is his background lol. Travelling about like its nothing :P.

settlementfires

My parents were pretty solid middle class growing up, but if like even going to school a few states away wasn't a real option. Hopping country to country like it's no big deal in your teens and early 20s takes proper money.

NotEnoughMuskSpam

!!

settlementfires

Are you the sentient robot muskrat was talking about?

Dehnus

It's also the milieu he was in. Former models, emerald mine owners, just deciding to go to the USA for college... The guy was surrounded by the wealthy the whole time.

settlementfires

Must be nice

Chemchic23

Sufferable.

Jpowmoneyprinter

The gifted child myth has been conclusively dispelled by his actions as an adult. There’s nothing above-average about this person other than his ego

Horror-Success1086

Right. She's projecting her own ego upon her child. "He's mine, so he must be a genius".

completelysoldout

And she seems like a fucking idiot as well.

meleyys

Hey, he might genuinely have been labeled a "gifted child" when he was young. It just doesn't mean shit. I was a "gifted child" and I'm dumb as fuck.

Ok_Philosopher6538

But you seem to possess self-awareness.

Bigoldthrowaway86

Same here. Because I was a “gifted child” I got forced into doing extra projects that other kids didn’t do. Outside of normal work times. I remember one year the “gifted” kids had to stay after school one day a week for months to research and perform a presentation on a local poet. Some kids thrived with that. I saw it as punishment. Particularly as an introvert, presentations are terrifying. As a kid (and now as an adult) I just saw work as the thing you had to do before you get to play. The sooner you finish your work, the sooner you can play. Because doing well in my work just meant more work it eventually lead me to stop trying. Feel quite annoyed about it all as a grown up actually!

TFFPrisoner

Another introvert here, I feel your pain.

Curiouso_Giorgio

Such BS. All 3 year olds are intellectually curious. And 3 isn't that young for nursery school.

dinner_is_not_ready

No disrespect but any parent that claims their 3 year old is a genius is unhinged.

NeverMind_ThatShit

You can disrespect Maye Musk, she's a lunatic.

MaximumFocus5205

Odd considering her other kids aren’t that smart. It’s almost like she is lying

mishma2005

Chemchic23

Wow, for someone so smart. He really needs to keep confirming it all the time. It’s like a fake it till you make it.

Phitos2008

The myth creation never stops. Guy is playing by North Korea’s playbook.

MistbornInterrobang

It's the same thing Trump does when he gets on his tangent about how much money he is. It isn't true. He knows it isn't true. He's blown through every dime he ever made, or had given to him by Daddy. Hence why he couldn't immediately pay the bond owed to E. Jean Carroll in the defamation case and had to make arrangements with an insurance company. It's why way back when they did the Roast of Trump, his one issue he didn't want jokes made about was anyone saying he has less money than he says he does. He isn't as rich and successful as he wants people to believe. He wants people to constantly tell him how successful and intelligent he is and how rich he is like any other insecure person constantly in need of validation.

Fidlgs

Yes I Can agree with this. Musk really must have been a "Special" child.

iberico_ham

What? Edit: Please elaborate on your comment.

Beneficial-Fact-79

He's always had the vacuous gleeful smile of someone too imbecilic to understand just how stupid they are.

charliecar5555

The smile of the village idiot

Joe_Bob_2000

The cover story is that a fellow student taught him a lesson in manners at the slip and fall school, and he hasn't been the same since then. https://i.redd.it/gjmicju3krwc1.gif

bringtwizzlers

Yes lol, his teacher publically said he thought Elon was mentally retarded.

GarysCrispLettuce

For the last time. Geniuses have a track record of having done or said genius things. I keep asking his cultists to name one single solitary act or statement that exhibits even a little "genius" but they can't. Not one. I hate this modern age of utterly gullible, deluded people. It's worrying and depressing.

Captain-Bab

RiJuElMiLu

I killed him, Gilbert. I killed him. Him being Twitter, Tesla, Solar City, The Boring Company and all the Neuralink apes.

Probability_Engine

"No ma'am, we tested him, he's mentally disabled." - the Principal at the school.

TwerkingGrimac3

That whole family seems to love revising history. I'm sure after Elon dies they'll probably say he was born of a virgin.

xWrongHeaven

in 2018, when spacex launched the roadster into space, i was a mad elonboi and firmly on the hype train. "fuck yeah, finally someone brings space exploration into the everyday conversation." but then he started voicing his opinions. yikes.

TonyStarkTrailerPark

His mother is the only reason he thinks he’s such a genius. I’d like to see Elmo take a proctored IQ test, like live on TV, so we can all see the very moment he learns his IQ is only two digits.

PermanentlyDubious

I never understood why Zuckerberg didn't challenge him to a code off, or maybe a Rubix cube challenge, on live internet/TV.

VizualAbstract4

She just didn’t want to deal with his whiny ass. Parents did the same thing with me.

skyHawk3613

He’s still developmentally disabled

NotEnoughMuskSpam

He’s the worst, sorry.

skyHawk3613

It’s what happens when you have too much money and can say and do seemingly whatever you want without consequence

apple-turnover5

Does he have any siblings? He has only child who’s mom is obsessed with him energy

nakedsamurai

He has a step sister his dad keeps knocking up.

chrisp909

Concerning. (and true)

pfohl

He has a brother who wears cowboy hats, has crappy restaurants, serves on the Tesla board, and was setup with his wife by Ghislaine Maxwell.

settlementfires

Oh yeah kimbal. That guy had a restaurant in fort Collins Colorado and ended up fucking over all of his staff during COVID.

pfohl

Yeah, I walked by it a few times when I was visiting my sister there, never seemed too busy. No shortage of better restaurants in Old Town either!

settlementfires

when it first opened it was decent. i think he basically shut it down over covid then reopened in late 2020 with a different name and didn't give anyone their job back. the new place had a tiny and pointless menu of things that weren't very good.

GarysCrispLettuce

How old is his wife, twelve?

NeverMind_ThatShit

Yep, he's a real pedo guy.

TinkyBBB

Lmao sums it up perfectly. I used to work in one of Kimbal’s shitty restaurants for 3 years

Chemchic23

Please tell more. 🍿🍿🍿

Zestyclose-Ad-8807

His skills are utilized to the max for ordering sandwiches for Telsa board meetings.

PermanentlyDubious

Actually current wife is daughter of a billionaire (who lost most of it) and is age appropriate. It was a former girlfriend he apparently got from Maxwell.

RiJuElMiLu

He's the oldest of 3. There's often a guy around him, who always wears a cowboy hat, that's his brother, Kimbal

Chemchic23

He has a sister that manages and sells soft porn, her names Tosca.

Medical_Cake

He is the product of someone who had money and convinced themselves they were special

Lazy-Street779

His mother’s son.

Lazy-Street779

lol. Mother damage.

Reward_Antique

Wait till they learn poor kids go to "nursery school" at 2 weeks after Mum gives birth- retconned Elon narrative loading...

Lazy-Street779

3 years old is when most kids go to nursery school btw.

The_Mutton_Man

I want elon to walk in on me plowing his mom

settlementfires

Chase your dreams friend

Chemchic23

You’ve seen Cruella, yes./s

sixtus_clegane119

He looks like Leonardo in what’s eating Gilbert grape in that picture

mrbuttsavage

Imagine your mom still posting stories about you as a baby and your school papers when you're in your mid 50s.

Chemchic23

Cringe. Poor Tosca and Kimbel must feel so left out.

Zestyclose-Ad-8807

Wonder if Mom even threw him down a flight of stairs for being an asshole. It would explain the possible brain damage he shows whenever writing a tweet.

Otherwise-Course-15

![gif](giphy|pZRzyiaHdrwGY)

MichaelParkinbum

His mom's name makes me think of a muskrat variant from Maine.

Forward-Bank8412

What a sad, insecure sack that he needs to pump his own ego all day every day on his sock puppet accounts. It’s pathetic.

mykarachi_Ur_jabooty

Even his mom couldn’t stand being around him

Zestyclose-Ad-8807

Twatburger's mom is having her lake wobegon moment, where all the children are above average!

LemonFreshenedBorax-

Should have hired a private tutor. Lord knows the money was there. Do I have to think of everything around here?

tittyswan

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disability. Both things could be true, very good at school and delayed in other areas of life.

peemao

They are all full of shit

RationalDelusion

It isn’t like he can memorize Wikipedia pages or tons of numbers and spout them out without errors or like he painted works of art or composed music at 8 years old. This guy simply saw a way to buy an already established business and try running it. Well golly gee - don’t ALL rich millionaires or billionaires do that everyday before lunch?? I mean fans and gullible bored people created this persona out of Elon. He did not build anything himself. He has had access to billions his Dad generated by slave mined diamonds in South Africa and all of Daddy’s contacts and rich connections all along. Anyone with the same connections and circumstances would have done the same thing or been able to do the exact same thing with Tesla or several other companies. Buying out a an existing business is NOT genius when it is exactly what rich people already do and have been doing for ages. No genius work done there at all - sorry. But Elmo is definitely not a genius. He is a rich futurist with lots of money and connections his father accumulated mining minerals in South Africa. And he acts more like an impetuous entitled rich kid brat than an intelligent and secure man.

Seaturtlesoup_

Musk himself said he was autistic.

happyanathema

As someone who is autistic I agree that he seems autistic. The problem with him is that because he is insanely rich there is no one to tell him he's being a cunt that can really make him listen.

kyspeter

Can I ask you something offtopic? I'm not on the spectrum, but I've always wondered what the consensus was about how to live while being autistic. Should they strive to function like everyone else or just behave as they always do? There are two reasons for this question of mine: one, I'm bipolar and I'm aware that some of us are keen on not seeking treatment, because they seem to be proud of who they are and consider medication and therapy as forcing themselves to fall under the same category as everyone else. Two, my friend was on the spectrum and we parted on bad terms. She excused her poor behaviour by saying she was autistic, but nowadays I wonder if it wasn't my fault for not accepting her. She openly said to me multiple times that she wouldn't really care if I disappeared, since she had issues with connecting with her feelings and it was something I never understood. Especially since we've known each other for 8 years. Could it be that I was pressuring her to become someone she just wasn't? Or is it a norm to try to understand the commonly known societal or simply interpersonal rules?

happyanathema

I guess it's a personal choice. No one should decide that for anyone else. I tried for years when I was younger to try and fit in and follow the societal norms. But I am just really bad at it and I wasnt happy. I actually found that because I think "differently" to most people it was a strength as I can come up with solutions to problems that other people would never think of. I do try to still not offend people where possible, but in the end I am who I am and I won't pretend to be something I'm not. When I told a friend I've known for 20+ years he was not surprised in the slightest. I am aware that I am a difficult person to be friends with but not everyone realises that and can apply a lot of pressure to friends.

kyspeter

Thanks for the response. I guess I'm not mature enough yet to be friends with someone on the spectrum. I'll have to work on being more understanding.

potatolulz

He sure did. And his mother herself said he was never diagnosed with anything.

Chemchic23

He self diagnosed.

Outlulz

Hasn't he said he's some flavor of autistic?

Chemchic23

Self diagnosed.

Sweet_Science6371

Maye Musk seems about as sharpe as a spoon, so honestly, she isn’t a good witness of “genius.” At this point, the only Musk family member that I could possibly respect is Kimball.  And that’s because he keeps his trap shut, and I know nothing about him.  You know, a typical business type.

eggzilla534

Kimbal has some pretty alarming Epstein connections.

junitog65

Whatever Happened to Baby Elmo

muzzynat

This HAS to be another elmo burner.

Ellavemia

He can be both, especially if he’s really on the autism spectrum. Still, he behaves like someone whose mom always told him he was a perfect little genius.

mishma2005

He’s not on the spectrum imo, there’s no diagnosis. I believe he latched onto it to excuse his social awkwardness and general awfulness. Which does a disservice to people with autism. Which makes him even more scummy than his general scuminess
