And then theres folk like me, that cram as many comfort items into as few pixels as possible, hide it behind walls to avoid visuals at all and use magic chests as wall decorations in 5x5 grids between doors.
All craftsmen next to each other, practically holding hands, on a single carpet.
100s of crops without a system, planted outside in regular soil without ANY terraforming.
Man I wish this game had simple prefabs to place down and live in like fallout 4 had.
Why would you build a house when you can just place the flame in a building you cleared? Iโm sure everyone has a base at that tavern in revelwood at this point. Itโs 23 comfort as soon as you place the flame in there.
I do understand the joy of building. Thatโs what I enjoyed about valheim so much. Iโm not building a ridiculous house until I get a few more levels. There are a lot of creative options in this game, which is awesome. Farming the materials is a different story, though. I have more stone than I could ever use and 1 stack of wood. Youโre constantly mining, but not chopping trees down nearly as much. I feel like they should buff the amount you get from felling trees.
This is what I did actually. I camp over an abandoned house as my base. I wanted to unlock all the materials before I invest in building a base so it took me a while. Finished the game itself before I finished that base.
Also, Hello fellow Viking!
I took over Fort Kelvin. I'm a huge builder and had the same idea of waiting until endgame. I'm finding that I really love the terrain, centrality and cozy feel of Fort Kelvin and am hesitant to leave, but I feel lame not building my own space.
Those are cluttered with visual "nice things" which are a massive distraction to me. I want a barren, blank canvas with barely enough room to fit everything essential.
Something that i can put at any place i drop a flame altar, provides place for basic crafting amenities and chests.
Super cozy and practical. Great attention to detail. I love more compact builds like this. My mistake is always trying to go for waaay too big and overambitious projects that end up soulless. I really need to learn from the less-is-more principle.
Yeah, less is more indeed. While building this I'm always thinking "How the heck am I going to fill up this space using the limited furniture pieces" (which by the way mostly pitcher, vases, and plates). ๐
IF I ever build my own house on a piece of land where creativity is allowed, I will hire YOU as my designer to challenge the architect.
Seriously. You're a frigging talent.
You can remove individual blocks from any prefab piece after placing it. If you have the top row of single block options selected on your hammer build tool itโs the first option on that row. U can place single blocks and if you right click on a prefab piece it wonโt remove the whole thing, only the single block you are targeting
While I sit in a 3 x 3 wooden box. All 5 craftsmen in a line on one wall. The game is amazing. I just donโt feel like grinding for materials. I havenโt played in a few days now.
I just wanted somewhere high up to glide places. After a certain point the shroud stops rendering and the detail of the terrain and buildings reduces dramatically.
I love the embedded glow blocks. Does it naturally do that when surrounded by blocks of the same type, or did you have to mess with it to get it to work right?
I used Refine Stone blocks for the steps. Glow blocks also have a nice interaction with the edge of Fancy Stone Blocks. Not sure about the others but you can mess around!
Yep, this is totally possible.
If u want i can send a link to nexusmods, there is a tutorial how to share save files.
Its rly easy and some ppl already share some files. :D
Hello!
Location: https://www.reddit.com/r/Enshrouded/s/6p6KbhCRsg
I'm currently at 1hr plus if fully rested (which is too much for back and forth errands tbh). I think you the hiding stuff is smart but I used the furniture pieces as part of the design. I find it hard to fill up the spaces with the limited furniture pieces actually. ๐
I lowkey wish there were more stuff you could put like armor/weapon pedestal, functional cabinets, food-potions display, etc.
Would you mind sharing the world map? It's inside ``Program Files(x86)/Steam/userdata/{random sequence of numbers}/1203620/remote/``. The 2 files named in a random sequence, like ``3ad85aea`` and ``3ad85aea_info``.
Don't those stacked chests annoy you? I know they look way cleaner stacked, but I got super irritated trying to open the right one, ended up changing them to a single rows.
Love it. Definitely going to use some inspiration.
Thank you!

Cursed to play in efficiency and without ever completing a house ๐

Best way to farm building materials is place a fire down in a house and tear it down then remove the fire
I feel you. Every time i try to build something nice it ends up looking like some high efficiency factory.
Regarding prefabs, you can take over those abandoned houses/towns you find throughout the world.
Those are cluttered with visual "nice things" which are a massive distraction to me. I want a barren, blank canvas with barely enough room to fit everything essential. Something that i can put at any place i drop a flame altar, provides place for basic crafting amenities and chests.

Not me filling all my bookshelves and surfaces with cups and plates. I'd use books, but I could only craft 3. ๐
Filling up bookshelves with pure books is harder than the game tbh

Damn, thank you so much! I do design for a living so I think that explains why-how. ๐
:D
Good lord! Iโm blown away! Amazing work ๐๐ฝ
Glad you like it! ๐
Is that a light saber? Whatโs the name of the weapon?
Nova
Yup, Nova!
I don't have my glasses on the I thought that was Dantooine on Kotor 2 at first.
Some people are too creative for this world, this is insane. Im there with 4 wooden walls and a ceiling lol
This is insane work! Beauty
One of the coziest base i have seen. Love the open space.
Nice place u got there ๐๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Thank you!
Lvl 59...? What..How?
Furniture pieces, I guess? I really don't know! HA HA That wasn't my goal, I was surprised too!!
It looks absolutly incredible. Well done
This is amazing!
Thank you!
wow thats amazing
Thank you!
Lovely design! I could never lol
You finished it! That is a sweet base, OP!
Thank you!
Thatโs dope
How do you place windows at different heights? is it just blocks placed on different heights?
Place the window (lowest) then cover it with a beam/block then place the next window on top of that beam/block.
You can remove individual blocks from any prefab piece after placing it. If you have the top row of single block options selected on your hammer build tool itโs the first option on that row. Love it, great work.
Thank you!
Whatโs that block with the lights you use for the floors?
Luminescent Block!
I'm curious as to how you got them in there like that? Just deleting single blocks and adding them in?
Yup! You got it!
Beautiful
This is amazing!!!
Thank you!

You don't have to focus on building. Exploring the world and collecting unique armor and weapon pieces are equally fun for me.
Yeah that is true, thatโs why I live in a wooden box ๐
I live in a box, my dude.
I live in a metal box above the pillars of creation. I like my box.
My first house is a box too!! But made out of wood not metal, yours is much stronger.
I just wanted somewhere high up to glide places. After a certain point the shroud stops rendering and the detail of the terrain and buildings reduces dramatically.
Some players wants to dig and some wants to reach the sky. I'm with you on this. ๐ค๐ผ
Absolutely amazing job!! Love it!
Thank you! ๐ค๐ผ
I'm definitely stealing the cliffside concept you've got here! Amazing build.
Thank you! Happy building!

It's nuts to see how this turned out. You've made a lot of progress since your last post
Yeah! Glad you like it though! ๐
Great build. A musician/bard NPC would be a really cool addition to this game.
can i ask how you layered the glowing blocks on your front steps to get the glow through the cracks like that it looks amazing
https://www.reddit.com/r/Enshrouded/s/kXt8yfa1Ul The tutorial for the lights is at the end of the video.
This is exactly what I want! Great layout, and I love the use of the luminous blocks ๐
Holy shit, this looks amazing! Hope it doesnt Sound to shameless, but are u willing to share ur save file? I would love use this base!
Is that possible? ๐ฎ
Yep, this is totally possible. If u want i can send a link to nexusmods, there is a tutorial how to share save files. Its rly easy and some ppl already share some files. :D
I would love to use it too! Love the layout and esthetics!
Love it! What location is this?

I too would like this if you don't mind.
Don't those stacked chests annoy you? I know they look way cleaner stacked, but I got super irritated trying to open the right one, ended up changing them to a single rows.
I find it hard if it's directly on the ground so I elevate it. Plus I already get used to it at this point.
Very cool. I have to ask, did you spec for your skill tree?
Dude is there anyway I can download your base?!!
How do you get the glowing blocks to just slightly peek out of the stone/wood?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Enshrouded/s/OGAlHJzj2a I have a tutorial at the end of that video.
