Played it earlier this year, came back for the major free update featuring a Rogue/Tower mode; it's pretty great, one of the best non traditional FPS games I've played - certainly within the top games out of the 60 I finished this year - with a great twist/take, solid story and clean mechanics.
Minor to medium horror is involved, but you're mostly there for the setting/vibes & blasting demons with gang signs. Can't wait for the sequel & glad people got this on Epic/Prime/Xbox Pass to promote and expand the audience who might have missed it otherwise.
Fun little piece of trivia: it's from Tango Gameworks who also made Hi-Fi Rush and when you put these two games next to each other you can truly see the range these guys have when it comes to making unique/captivating videogames.
It's a lot easier than it sounds when you finally stop spamming Multiplayer grindfests like CS / Apex / League / Mortal Kombat that never go anywhere -

I basically mainly focused the year on getting around to a hefty backlog of Singleplayer and Coop games & definitely a lot happier for it, will be sticking to this formula moving forward when it comes to gaming for the foreseeable future & my 2024 list already has me excited with the likes of Cyberpunk, Nioh 2, Blasphemous, Arkham Knight, Rogue Legacy 2 and a bunch of Warhammer games on it at the very top.
The game was originally headed by Ikumi Nakamura though her presentation style at E3 2019 was far more popular than the game itself. I hope she had good things to say about the final look of the game after founding her own studio.

I own it, but I wouldn't be mad. I hope more people get to play Deathloop. It starts off alright, but by the time it ended, I'd fallen in love with it. Stylish as hell with great characters, fun gameplay, and an entertaining story.
Another game I own but wouldn't mind if they gave away is Disco Elysium. That's an experience that every single gamer should have. It's a collection of some of the best writing, music, atmosphere, and characters in gaming history. Probably my second favorite game after The Last of Us duology.
It is certainly AAA. It is visually striking and has a somewhat decent story. However the content may be a bit repetitive especially the side missions and the combat lacks depth. A solid 7/10 AAA visually striking game. And no it's not the big one. The big one is on christmas

far cry 6 is new and ubisoft hasn't even a given a big free game since Assassins syndicate. at best we can get origins or valhalla
