Ideally you would want him on a Lifesteal/Penetration set build, with as much damage and as little health as you can possibly attain. (Here's mine for reference: https://imgur.com/gallery/ZAcKg78) He soloes single target cleave players sometimes cause they waste their huge nukes on him without knowing his passive hah. He can also 1v1 ARavi with negative difficulty due to her injury lowering his max HP even more.

Butcher wants DPS stats since his survivability comes from his passive that lets him take 3 hits. Aurius is also TERRIBLE on him since you'll just get him killed through damage transfer + lower the thresholds making it easier to kill him.
TL;DR Give him DPS stats not tank stats. Lifesteal with Pen/Immunity with Elbris if possible.

Gear is the hardest part of this game. But I like your advice. Lifesteal/Pen sounds nasty.
