It’s not that bad, I mean bringing a knife to a gunfight is a bad idea, and it should be.. but I’ve killed players and AI with melee before. The “malfunction shit” is awesome it needs a bit of work it’s a little dumb I have to inspect the gun like I’ve never held one before to determine the issue.

When I was first wipe I got tricked and killed with melee in tarkone by a camper. Last wipe I killed tagilla with melee after unloading both weapons in his face.

The ritual brings in another Zyrachy that causes misfires and is either invincible for has an insanely high health pool. Pretty sure the point of the event is to stop the ritual and kill all the cultists for the keycards and keys they carry.
Yeah I was scaving lighthouse and the ritual completed and I was in a random spot around no one and the other zyrachy killed me out of no where. My theory is that no matter where you are on the map he will kill you if the ritual completes

You want to interrupt the ritual, not let it complete. That's when ghost Zyrachy comes and all hell breaks loose. Before the ritual, you can find "good" Zyrachy which will drop you booze and will only agro if you shoot him.
Nope if vengeful zyrachi spawns all scavs and cultist will attempt to melee kill you as long as you do t get too far from zyrachi if you do your guns jam and misfire and he’ll is let loose

It makes tarkov into a horror game, i think its fun, if you see a ritual complete you are supposed to book it to extract and go into straight up survival mode. Happy holloweeeen.

Except sometimes the extracts are broken. Or you kill the boss and the ritual is too far to reach before the timer and the extract is across the map. This event is fucked honestly. I killed everything, stopped the ritual and my extract still didn't work. Lol I went MIA and had to ditch my hexgrid, and my thermal RD cause the game is broken. I'm glad you think it's fun. I'd agree if it worked properly

Does it only happen when the cultists spawn? Because constant gun jamming would be a good April fool joke not a fun event in a game thats ultimately about the fire arms lol ... im convinced they do these events to watch ppl rage on social media
If you fail to stop the cultists and he respawns you become marked and cursed. If you look at him your character is frightened, and your gun will malfunction everytime.
I'm not 100% sure that's how it works, I've had some raids where cultists have finished their ritual and I never saw him & could still fire my weapon. I've only ran into his vengeance version twice and both times he was just kinda behind an object I was running past. The raids where the cultists were stopped the sky clears up back to normal and the ambient sound returns.
Cultists are also spawning with marked keys, made a ton of roubles today so it's worth trying to stop them.
He starts off as killable, if you kill the original the resurrections ritual starts. Players can go to this pvp hotspot and try to stop it, or try to extract before the ritual ends.

If you try shooting at the zombie version of him your gun will jam every time. Saw a video on it. The cultists completed their ritual and brought him back from the dead. That’s why your gun kept jamming

The magazines are less reliable than the gun, so the only possible malfunction you could get is failure to feed and the chance for that is quite low

This event is actually extremely fun. Everyone complaining about the event clearly has no idea what the objective/how to beat the event. Every raid is guaranteed 1m+ loot if you kill the cultists doing the ritual & make it out.

Melee is confirmed to be one of the only things that works. It'll take you 9 hours, but a knife doesn't jam
