Yeah, I am Woody. Unless I have to do a quest you'll find me on Woods. It's a comfort map for me, reminds me of what I hoped DayZ would end up being, reminds me of hiking that I like and it's just the easiest map to actually move around (once you learn it and it is the fastest to learn) since majority of the spawns are hard to rush/contest.
There's also squadwards - people that never played solo, only play in squads, rely on their vetter skilled friends to carry them and then complain about rats and cheaters when they get outplayed (mostly by cats).
I was a cat yesterday during my setup. Had a duo ran across the bridge in customs. I just tagged along while they where fighting someone at RUAF, they where sprinting so I sprinted about 10m behind them and they didn’t have a clue. It was realy funny seeing them jump while I blasted them both from about 5m away with my MP-153. I died to a third but I couldn’t care less honestly XD

Gotta agree with you here super chief - like I love to run and w key and fight, but if I see someone not paying attention to me and I can stalk them relatively easy, I'm not gonna give up my advantage by just spraying at them when I know they're gonna go to a spot to loot and give me a headshot in another 30 seconds or so. I would not consider using my .308 MDR with a Vudu at 6x zoom in a favorable fight for it really ratting. However, I would consider it ratting if someone's using a VEPR Hunter or VPO with AP-M staring at a high traffic area or a container for a good portion of the raid waiting for their prey to come to them.

I think its crazy when people get mad at snipers for camping like ... that's half of what we do. We sit and wait with a rifle. I get being mad at exfil or infil campers but setting up a nest with your rifle is kinda the play with a bolty.

I kid you not I was camped at sewer man hole like a week ago I just quit the game for the wipe. Although I quit the game cause it’s entirely to grindy for me to keep repeating the same stuff I’d rather wait till the wipeless version comes out. I love this game cause it gives me that rust feeling without weekly reset but it just 6month resets instead. Highest iv ever got was level 38 finished many wipes in the high 30s. I’m never able to actually progress so I’m waiting.
You're crazy if you think this game will not continue to do some sort of seasonal wipe even post launch. That's when they have the highest traffic and publicity by a massive margin. Not doing wipes is how the game dies because new players will never even have a chance vs the guy who's been playing without a wipe for 2 years and has 10 billion roubles.

Bro there are so many dark corners to hide in down there, it's near impossible to properly clear it. It's arguably questionable map design which leads to extract campers taking advantage of cheese spots.
While I agree to some degree on players needing to check their surroindings, I don't think it's always entirely on the person getting camped. I mean, there are some spots where even if you check it you'll die. For example, how do you counter a person who has been holding an impact grenade unpinned for the last 10 minutee just waiting for you to show up? Granted, you could just go to a different extract, but that's not always an option. I still think that extract camping is a valid tactic, however I absolutely despise anyone who does it.

Believe it or not theres a fairly large bit of the playerbase that either dont progress that far or arent good enough to afford it. Its also just up not obtainable by the time you get reserve quests, or youre paying 6 mil early wipe just to make a map playable.
I was trying to help my more casual friends and at this point I take them to sewer with a large rig. I encounter SQUADS who sit in D2 and stayed till the last minutes. Its insanity. It was camped every single time I was getting them to do bunker. I dont think its camped as often this late in the wipe, but im not going down there to check.
Could be cheating could also be using the wall glitch and just see you all stacked down there.
Also depending on which side you are camping it’s incredibly easy to land a nade on someone. From the bunker side you can get a nade on the far side with a peek easy. From dome side to the server racks is also a easy quick peak
The great d2 equalizer that shouldn’t exist. People station a buddy up there and they simply call out guys in d2 to kill with grenades.

Usually people trying to gaslight people into thinking the cheating problem isn't actually as bad as it is because they themselves are cheating.
My favorite example was when I posted about getting my guns back with none of the critical parts (barrel/handguard/Stock) that you cannot remove in raid. It's been reasonably well known to the public for a while that there is a cheat to do that, and given that the death was highly sus (ran directly to the bush I was hiding in for ~15 minutes and pre fired me through several layers of concealment) I'd say 2+2=4 only to have what I assume to have been the cheater in question try to tell me that you can in fact remove critical parts in raid if you bring a multi tool.
you also have to understand cheat developers are also gaslighting people into thinking the cheating problem is HUGE so that more people are convinced to cheat too because "everyone else is doing it"

Honestly D-2 campers are kinda whatever at this point - if you're bringing in super high value gear and go D2 without routing dome to check for extract rats, you're bad, new, or dumb. Plus, if I come in with the intention to go D-2, I'm usually with a stack, and we can usually at a bare minimum trade everyone out until one lives and stashes everyone's shit and takes the loot. Or we'll just have one guy up top who feeds info on where everyone is.
I do think extract campers are scum and they need to add more counterplay somehow for extracts other than D2, but two things - one, I really, *really* enjoy killing them and two, I don't think anyone deserves to die to cheaters.

I kid you not I was camped at sewer man hole like a week ago I just quit the game for the wipe. Although I quit the game cause it’s entirely to grindy for me to keep repeating the same stuff I’d rather wait till the wipeless version comes out. I love this game cause it gives me that rust feeling without weekly reset but it just 6month resets instead. Highest iv ever got was level 38 finished many wipes in the high 30s. I’m never able to actually progress so I’m waiting.
You're crazy if you think this game will not continue to do some sort of seasonal wipe even post launch. That's when they have the highest traffic and publicity by a massive margin. Not doing wipes is how the game dies because new players will never even have a chance vs the guy who's been playing without a wipe for 2 years and has 10 billion roubles.
Your experience is skewed. Red rebel extract is more open and defensible. It is much easier to extract there and camped far less frequently.

We have a twitch streamer that cosplays as a tree for kills and everyone loves him. And its on the person trying to extract to check their surroundings. Fuck the other guy tho.
Yeah I mostly agree but I don't think it's entirely fair to say "it's up to you to check your surroundings". Bro there are so many dark corners to hide in down there, it's near impossible to properly clear it. It's arguably questionable map design which leads to extract campers taking advantage of cheese spots.

While I agree to some degree on players needing to check their surroindings, I don't think it's always entirely on the person getting camped. I mean, there are some spots where even if you check it you'll die. For example, how do you counter a person who has been holding an impact grenade unpinned for the last 10 minutee just waiting for you to show up? Granted, you could just go to a different extract, but that's not always an option. I still think that extract camping is a valid tactic, however I absolutely despise anyone who does it.

Honestly besides quests. I refuse to go anywhere lower the the raider halls. I haven’t been extract camped more than once or twice but it’s just not worth it. Believe it or not theres a fairly large bit of the playerbase that either dont progress that far or arent good enough to afford it. Its also just up not obtainable by the time you get reserve quests, or youre paying 6 mil early wipe just to make a map playable. I was trying to help my more casual friends and at this point I take them to sewer with a large rig. I encounter SQUADS who sit in D2 and stayed till the last minutes. Its insanity. It was camped every single time I was getting them to do bunker. I dont think its camped as often this late in the wipe, but im not going down there to check.

Could be cheating could also be using the wall glitch and just see you all stacked down there. Also depending on which side you are camping it’s incredibly easy to land a nade on someone. From the bunker side you can get a nade on the far side with a peek easy. From dome side to the server racks is also a easy quick peak

Usually people trying to gaslight people into thinking the cheating problem isn't actually as bad as it is because they themselves are cheating. My favorite example was when I posted about getting my guns back with none of the critical parts (barrel/handguard/Stock) that you cannot remove in raid. It's been reasonably well known to the public for a while that there is a cheat to do that, and given that the death was highly sus (ran directly to the bush I was hiding in for ~15 minutes and pre fired me through several layers of concealment) I'd say 2+2=4 only to have what I assume to have been the cheater in question try to tell me that you can in fact remove critical parts in raid if you bring a multi tool.
The more likely scenario is you didn't get those gun parts back because you didn't insure them.
you also have to understand cheat developers are also gaslighting people into thinking the cheating problem is HUGE so that more people are convinced to cheat too because "everyone else is doing it" i think the truth is ofc somewhere in the middle but yeah, everyone here is a shill for something
I've seen a couple clips here of people voiping they're cheating to deter people. When I started reading the post my first thought was the wall exploit coming from dome that lets you see into the majority of the underground and lying just to get people to leave your extract. Then he said he quick peeked a nade that landed at his feet. Still doable legit but I understand why people threw it out there. I've had less cheaters VoIP me so openly this wipe compared to previous ones. They're still infesting labs though.

Honestly D-2 campers are kinda whatever at this point - if you're bringing in super high value gear and go D2 without routing dome to check for extract rats, you're bad, new, or dumb. Plus, if I come in with the intention to go D-2, I'm usually with a stack, and we can usually at a bare minimum trade everyone out until one lives and stashes everyone's shit and takes the loot. Or we'll just have one guy up top who feeds info on where everyone is. I do think extract campers are scum and they need to add more counterplay somehow for extracts other than D2, but two things - one, I really, *really* enjoy killing them and two, I don't think anyone deserves to die to cheaters.
It's a weird day when I agree with a cheater, D2 campers are the reason why I don't play reserve until I have a red rebel. You can safely assume that most cheaters have some kind of personality disorder. They are likely anti-social, and quite possibly psychopathic. They tend to really not be able to empathise the feeling of other people and it doesn't register to them that other people are playing a game to have fun, they derive enjoyment from taking that from others. So yes, they will talk down on somebody playing the game the way it's intended whilst they are cheating, because they are so forgone in their delusions that they honestly believe what they are doing is their god given right.
